I'm a f2p that has been saving gems for years so yes the builders apprentice is a great way to spend it, long term it'll pay for itself. An 8 hour time save every 23 hours is very good for something that is permanently on your account once purchased, I'll personally be constantly using it on heroes
Its a horrible way to spend your gems. Yes you get 8 hours for every 24 but that’s not factoring in the fact you have 6 builders, so for every 144 hours of work your builders do you get an extra 18 hours. That’s only if you are perfectly using him to. If you were smart you could’ve just bought the book of heroes in the item shop for 500 gems which would save you around 250 hours. Per purchase. It will take 5 years before the apprentice builder gives you any benefit. Use your brain before you say this stuff

At most the Queen(for example) takes 8 days to upgrade to 95, using the apprentice daily shaves this down to 5.33 days. I'd rather have that time save forever for every hero than 13 instant upgrades and then save for more book of heroes for months and months. It fully depends on your use case, if you buy gems and what not maybe the books are worth it to you. I'm in it for the long run so a handful of instant upgrades don't appeal to me personally
Itzu did the math in his update video. The apprentice builder will pay itself off in less than a year. That’s after maxing it out. Putting in the first two levels at the very least will pay itself off in between four and five months for an active player. I’d say it’s 100% worth it for an active player.

I have made some calculations on the apprentice builder. Assuming a max level, we will save 8 hours per day and so 56 hours per week and 240 hours per month.Till now it seems convenient, but we to divide the results by the number of builders available in order to what time we actually save. => saved time:1,33 hours per day which lead to roughly 1.6 days per month and 20 days per year So, it's not really conveninet, neither on the long term PS: when you calculate the time needed to max your base, you consider that all of your builders are always working. So, to estimate the time you divide the overall time of struttures and heros by the number of builder. Like in the clash ninja calculator.

How does that make sense. The apprentice will save up to 8 hours each day, so surely the math is as simple as saying you can save 8 hours pr day and then you should simply be able to multiply by the amount of days you'd want. So if he's saving 8 hours on upgrades each day for a full year, that means a total of 121 days have been shaved off. The reason why clash ninja divides by builders is when figuring out how long it'll take you to max your base, i.e if you have 6 buildings that take 5 days, having 6 builders will mean you can max in 5 days. Where as if you only have 5 builders, maxing will then actually take 10 days because you need 1 builder to finish to even start the next. Because the calculator also does not simply say 5*6 = 30 days, meaning either 30/6 or 30/5. The calculator rightly assumes you need a free builder to even start an upgrade, you can see this by looking at the hero upgrades, having over 4 builders at th13 won't actually speed up the timer shown for heros as you obviously can't have more builders assigned to hero upgrades at once given that there's only 4 heros. You should probably rerun your math cause if you think having more builders available i.e having 6 over 5 will somehow make the builder's apprentice less effecient and save you less time, you've missunderstood something badly.

It would be great if once you assign the apprentice builder to an upgrade it stayed there until either the building finished, or you manually moved it. If I have a 10 day upgrade and assign the apprentice builder and he automatically engages every 24 hours I know I am saving 10 hours on that build (or more). Having to remember to re-engage him every day like the Clock tower in builder base is a huge pain in the ass, and reduces the effectiveness of this builder. I'd be more inclined to spending gems if I knew I was going to maximize his usage on an upgrade. With the current model I won't remember every 24 hours to do it, so a lot of time will be wasted which reduces the appeal of spending money on it.
if you have gems and all builders, get the builders apprentice, if you dont have the gems dont spend real money on it. Good purchase to passively work on, ill probable maximise gems out of clan games for awhile and stay on top of my gem mine to max it quicker
im TH11 and i had 2500 gems left over i maxed him out for my townhall (limit is 4x in TH11) and yeah it's pretty good on long upgrade times it adds up. so if an upgrade is 7days 7x4 is 28 hours saved which is like a gold pass

I’m at an XP level of around 200 and have max heroes (Lvl 75 BK, Lvl 75 AQ, Lvl 50 Warden, and Lvl 25 Champion), max walls, buildings and troops (except for the minion) for a TH 13 (I became a TH14 less than a month ago). So I can attest that you can get decently far into the game without spending money

The builder take 6500 gems for 8 hours a day but with 6500 you can buy 7 books [building or fighting] from trader with 25 gem saved if you use these 7 books in upgrades that take just 9 days it will save you 63 days but if you use the builder in those 63 day every day in the same exact time to get the most value you will save 21 day in 63 dayso it's already way less value + it need you be online every day
And if you using the books in building that take 13 day you will save 91 days aka 3 months instantly and to take off 91 day from building time with the builder you need to max it and use it every single day in the same exact time for 273 day aka 9 months
So buy it only if you will play the game for the next 5 or 10 years if you are planning to play every day in these years🙂+ btw i calculated the time saving as 8 hours a day which is worng coz he work in 1h to take 8hours so it actually save you 7 hours a day so he's value is way less then i told u

Yeah a bit, but you can also save 500 gems for free
The builder take 6500 gems for 8 hours a day but with 6500 you can buy 7 books [building or fighting] from trader with 25 gem saved if you use these 7 books in upgrades that take just 9 days it will save you 63 days but if you use the builder in those 63 day every day in the same exact time to get the most value you will save 21 day in 63 dayso it's already way less value + it need you be online every day
And if you using the books in building that take 13 day you will save 91 days aka 3 months instantly and to take off 91 day from building time with the builder you need to max it and use it every single day in the same exact time for 273 day aka 9 months
So buy it only if you will play the game for the next 5 or 10 years if you are planning to play every day in these years🙂+ btw i calculated the time saving as 8 hours a day which is worng coz he work in 1h to take 8hours so it actually save you 7 hours a day so he's value is way less then i told u

@@playerm.m.m3436 You do still save 8 hours, yes it takes 1 hour to get the full effect, but even so, the apprentice still shaves of a total of 8 hours from the upgrade, meaning it'll still mean 8 hours less upgrade time for that day compared to not having used the apprentice it at all.
@@playerm.m.m3436first of all the other builder is working during that hour the apprentice doesn’t stop and after so it’s really a 9X multiplier
Second of all you don’t need to play for 5 more years after those 9 months you will be better off with the appearance
Third almost no players are at a point where they constantly have 13 day upgrades looking at the town hall player chart so realistically with books they would only save 7-10 days with there longest upgrades
Lastly with the gold pass builder boost that does not help the books while it does help the builder so if you plan on buying the pass at some point the builders deficit will decrease faster
