Thanks so much for posting this video. I really appreciate your time. I agree totally about flax oil, pure, cold pressed and organic. Must be kept in the refrigerator. I do also agree with 475F, I believe anything over 500 creates chipping and peeling of the seasoning. ((Side note: I really enjoy hearing your accent. We lived in England for three years as my husband was stationed at Upper Heyford US Air Force Base. We lived in a thatched roof cottage on a sheep farm in 1980 to 1983. Wonderful times... wish we could step back in time!))
We bought one of these recently and can't understand why it seems to be coated in oil that leaves your hands black - it's like used engine oil! Food cooked in it tastes metallic as well - we have used it straight from the packaging as suggested as well. There's no way you could pick our bowl up as shown in this video without getting black oily hands as a result. Will clean today as re-season as shown in the film....
