Lovely, i held back from buying the MT07 because it lacks touring capabilities, but i loved the engine, now with this tracer it combines the engine and touring capabilities so it's definitely on my buy list now.

John Stots Hi John, thanks for the enticing offer but unfortunately I am going to have to politely decline today, for I am steam cleaning otter stains from my prized ukulele.

This could be the most natural replacement for the TDM 900. A bit down on power maybe, but it's lighter so the bhp difference will not be that noticeable. The Mt09 Tracer just felt too sporty for me. Gotta get a test ride.

Great review, great bike, especially when a proper exhaust is added! Wish you would have talked a little more about the factory luggage, as this would seem an important selling point for a lot of people in the market for the Tracer.

Sometimes it isnt all about huge bhp figures and techno.. 80ish bhp and comfort can be fun..

being a Yamaha rider I really wanna like this bike but it's lacks a few key features on the new V STROM: 12 V charger, wire wheels, skid plate, tail bag rack, low rev assistance and more. that's a lot efforts Suzuki thrown in for a serious tourer for just a few hundred dollars more

Beautiful bike! the design reminds me the timeless tdm900. I hope yamaha follow this way, the bike is pure fun but some improvements are possible to have perfection. Nice video and marvelous places to ride!

Nice review, Steve. You've slowed down your delivery a bit - thanks for that!

I think this new bike is great. However, as other reviewers (and Ivan) have pointed out, the standard exhaust note is a bit flat and the Tracer 700 doesn't really boast off-road credentials. It will also be interesting to see how the accessories range pans out (e.g., 12V / USB slot?), although the larger touring screen (shown in this video) already makes a good impression.

This isn't a ADV bike so it doesn't need offroad credentials, Yamaha have confirmed a Tenere 700 for that job, also Euro 4 emissions have pretty much killed most chances of a decent exhaust out of the factory, so Yamaha aren't going to put on decent or more pricey exhausts on when most people are going change it anyway.

With an aftermarket exhaust the crossplane twin sounds incredible. Seriously it's one of the best sounding twins I have ever heard.

I’m needing to make up my mind on wether I must go with this bike or the Vstrom. One thing that bothers me, is where is the protection for the exhaust and oil filter on that thing? Especially if you are planning to do some gravel road sections or rock laden roads. I’m not saying enduro style, but damn... Some things should be obvious...

having noticed the black Tracer 700 windscreen ruclips.net/video/T71GLetVZg8/видео.html differs - Yamaha's accessories or 3rd party vendor. Comparison maybe stock vs the upgraded?

Here in Norway riding with your rear right footpeg down means that you are looking for gay sex. Is it the same in other countries?
