    Man I remember watching the How to git gud at Gigas vid while watching GigasThiccas' videos. It got my Gigas to Tekken King back in T7. I'm now Tekken Emperor in T8 with Jack 8 and this one right here is S tier content.

    I feel like Jack was built to be a pressure character rather than a defensive one (but T7 players can’t adapt due to his range nerf). The way his Heat works and the variety of feints is a lot more than others.
    DF1 looks like one of his mids and he can do mids even in crouch. People forget about his original weird moves but they revolve around getting opponents to crouch before grabbing them.

    • @dualboxdtox
      @dualboxdtox  28 дней назад

      I kinda agree and disagree,
      Jack definitely has tools to pressure but blind aggression doesn't get him far. Unlike other rush down characters. His block punishment and GH armor however, are insanely devastating imo.

      @@dualboxdtox Yeah I get what you mean by that. He is no Dragunov. It’s more like being mixup heavy instead. His tricks still being intact.

    he did forget one weakness JACK IS SOOOOO DAM SLOW most of his move are easily cancelable cuz of how slow he is [ especially law players nunchucks can easily cancel your move ]

    • @dualboxdtox
      @dualboxdtox  2 месяца назад +1

      I'd put that under the my 2nd mentioned weakness as a defensive character.
      He definitely has fast moves like F2, 2 and B33.
      He just has to be played to his strength which is plus frames on block.

    Too bad there's no low option from gamma howl but I like the redesign overall. Hopkick addition would be also much appreciated
    Weird thing is that getting tekken king with jack was much easier for me than with law which is supposed to be OP char

    Whats the most optimal combo with jack?

    • @dualboxdtox
      @dualboxdtox  3 месяца назад +3

      Usually it depends on the launcher move.
      But the most reliable is
      DF2 - F4 - B1 - F121 - F121
      If it wall splats just
      B31D - GH F2.
      80+ dmg

    Nah they gutted jack in tekken 8, new fc db1 string sucks, slow and unsafe. His df4 is slow now, gamma howl parry is unreliable and overall the stance is too coinflip and most moves can be beat with things like dickjab if you dont hit moves like ff1 or f3 going into stance. Some of those moves aside, he is very linear or his best tools are highs and are easily ducked. I loved jack in t7, but now he feels too sluggish and i dont think he can keep up with the rest of the roster in this so called "aggressive" game, he gets pressured too hard, if you ask me he was insanely reliable on his old fcdb1 because of the fast speed, i can live with it atleast being -11 since it was safe. But lets say you are at the wall being pressured, your safes fastest move is 2, then he has f2 which granted on ch is pretty insane, but that shit gets blocked he is -12 and depending on who you are playing against you either eat a wall splat or lose health and your turn again. As previously mentioned his gamma howl parry is both unreliable and no moves are completly guaranteed after the parry so its just too risky. At the end of the day i guess he suffers from the same old Jack problem of being pressured too hard which is perhaps fine, but stripping away his fast classic tools like fcdb1 and df4 which were some of his best options of atleast keeping people away. His old debugger was decently fast and had good range, they made this shit too slow at a whopping 29i startup. This leaves him with some mostly fake and risky pressure from gamma howl, then there is full crouch where he got ws24, which is okay but once again a knowledge check which ends in a high. I never see Jack players, especially not at Tekken King ranks, he is one of the least played characters despite looking the best he ever has with his new visual rework.

      I appreciate the feedback. Thank you 😊.
      I wanted to push back on some of the opinions however:
      - real value of FC db1 is that it's low & safe poke. Its string is Fairly unsafe & situational.
      - df4 has great range, track both sides and great CH value. Any faster and it'll be broken tbh.
      - gamma howl parry rewards specific knowledge of what you are parrying. Expecting it to parry everything like all strings Is not intended.
      - the stance can counter low jabs with both low grabs & stance jumps. you also can not transition to stance to bait it out.
      - GH1, ff1+2, 1+2, uf1+2 and DF4 all counter side step.
      - I agree that jack is defensive in an aggressive game. But that's ok he is still strong
      - he is far more agile now than in 7 with wr1+2 & GH jump forward/backward. Arguably better KBD here than in 7 as well. I wouldn't say too sluggish.

    • @kristian10101
      @kristian10101 2 месяца назад

      @@dualboxdtox Yeah his fcdb1 used to be safe, its now -11, it feels sluggish to use and its much easier to get launch punished in general with spacing from it than before. All his tracking moves are unsafe except for ub 1+2 which is duckable. GH parry is yes a knowledge check in theory, but its timing is odd and sometimes it feels as if it doesnt "parry" when it should. Ravens b2+4 is much more consistent as it is somewhat similar in that it parries everything. Its nice that you yes have crouch grabs from GH, and you can jump away, but then its back to neutral or depending in the situation you lose your turn. Characters like Dragunov can simply do a low or a mid to keep you locked down and he doesn't need much guessing to keep his pressure up.

      @kristian10101
      - FC db11 is -6 and +5 on hit... You can simply stick to doing 11
      Plus Most don't risk interruptin the 1 cuz 11 is +5 in your favor... Totally fair imo.
      - df4 is safe/ gamma 1 is safe.. the others are unsafe for good reason. Two of them are launchers and the other is a safe power crusher. He is not lacking in that regard at all.
      - in terms of parries. If anything Gamma howl parry is super forgiving. I don't have to just-frame it and sometimes it parries multiple hits like alisa chains. Additionally, it transitions to stances so whiffing is perfectly fine too. If anything he surpasses raven, Yoshi, Jin and asuka in many aspects in parries.
      Anything else and it will be broken.
      - for aggressive types like drag. Simply relaying on gamma howl isn't wise at All. You'll actually have to duck and block the strings.

      I agree with everything you said. Jack’s best tools that defined the character are shadows of itself. Especially his db1. It was +2 on hit. Great at the wall. Now it’s +1. Opponents can easily challenge with a
      dickjab and easily stop the pressure. Also his d4 was a great low it was safe on block and 1+ on hit. It also tracked to his weak side. Now it’s -15 on block. Jackhammer no longer knockdowns and into guarantee damage is the biggest nerf to the character
