Unfortunately, they were rudely interrupted by a desperate and unwanted guest who lives in the dressing room next door.

So as a joke, every time the show ends, he would say "sorry Matt Damon we didn't have time for you" just as a gag. But it went on for so long, it has now become part of the show's identity.
