Thank you for sharing it is all mind games of our doing. It just put in words everything I have been feeling and doing, doubting, moving into another painting, and walking away. Helps to have someone else say it out loud. Appreciate it.
Thank you - I have found myself naturally sharing everything a go through as I am actually working on my paintings, the ups and the downs. I have lots to share and I'm enjoying the process of making these videos.
Don't doubt yourself. Your paintings are sublime. These must sell. This looks like Oklahoma, USA. In fact, this exact spot you've painted is where I used to take my high school sweetheart at the end of summer before she moved away. We'd walk and talk and dream about the future. It feels so long ago.
You are not only a great artist but also a great instructor. Not many can do both. I also find that some paintings try to beat the devil out of you. Can be a real love hate situation……but so correct to walk away, give it time and then carry on. The subtitles of this painting are divine.
Totally agree Peter, at times it is hard to get motivated especially when you just want to get it finished, which is when it can all so easily go wrong. What I do is as you mentioned, switch to another work in progress.
Yes - I have in the past had several paintings on the go at once, takes the pressure off just focusing on the one painting and for me it also prevents overworking a painting.
Your painting is so stunning. Thank you for sharing your experience of feeling beaten by the piece, wanting to give up on it. I think that’s a lot of my trouble, it gets to a point where I’m not happy with my work, and just give up on it. I will try to not do so. I love this landscape. Thank you
Thank you so much Lesley 🙏 I am grateful for the opportunity to share my experience and knowledge as a working artist in these videos on RUclips - lots more to come 😊
@@jamesrobinson9512 Thank you - I will probably paint a similar misty landscape in the future using acrylic, making a comparison should prove interesting 👍
