I'm a kid from Cleveland and luv the white noise to study, meditate or fall asleep!
Same here with studying; I discovered that benefit by accident.
Eugene I think this machine did rather well considering it was a super sized load!!! I was very surprised to see the turn over action for being such a large load considering that the vanes are only on the bottom of the agitator... See that just goes to show you that the machines that were built yesteryear were made to handle heavy loads and continue going strong for many years, Not like the machines they make today where if the load is a little to heavy the machine blows up like mine did!!! Great video Eugene and have a super weekend!!!
I wanna see the whole washer! Love a pink machine
you have a great washer keep it as long as you can
Love these vids! How bout replacing the tub bulb :).
After a few minutes of the clothes getting fully saturated the entire load turns over several times. Cleaning IS taking place.
It was next to impossible to get those old-school machines with their fantastic suspensions to walk across the floor, just as it's next to impossible to prevent the modern ones with their suspension rods not to move.
I loved my 1988 Maytag. It is probably still going somewhere. It had a nice little alarm and would stop if it became unbalanced. I had a leak and cost would have been prohibitive to fix. Got rid of it in 2005 didn’t know Maytag was badging other brands as their own. Turned out I had an Amana or some such and a dead transmission in two years. Bummer. Got a Bosch Front Loader and have had a continual learning curve to get best performance. Bought 2007. Repaired once to include new boot still doing tons of laundry and mold free.
It's not that Maytag was rebadging other brands, it's that there were only two or three manufacturers and they always sold multiple models under different brand names. Then Kenmore was made for Sears by one of the majors with a few "Sears only" features.
Back in the day, Sears Kenmore were the only appliances that came with a full parts list and you could buy the repair parts at any Sears Parts store; before the Internet that was a royal pain to try to do with parts for other brands, requiring you find your city's appliance parts store and hope that they sold to ordinary consumers, not just to repair people.
I think the automatic knob on the top would give you a warm rinse with the hot or warm wash setting. When you get around to refurbishing this would you consider letting somebody come help watch learn?
needs a new belts for sure, the water is overflowing into the bleach dispenser on spinout and the agitation is sluggish
I say it does well for its age and a small tweak here and there and it would be beautiful. When is it for sale?
Did you read my other comments from one of these videos? I have a service manual covering 1994 -1997 Maytag dependable care line washers. Even this 1962 one has a lot of the same parts.
As children, our mother took us to the washing machine & explained the importance of & the reason why to not OVERLOAD a washer. Appliance repair businesses that continually make vids with overloaded washers are baffling! By their vids, they are telling their viewers to overload washing machines! NUTS!!
Are you in the process of refurbishing that washer
Nice seems to run good I’m watching your site for when you sell the next refurbished whirlpool belt drive if you ever get another one in
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance I like this washer, my aunt had the 1963 model with the same agitator but the washer was white. The pink panther of all pink Maytags.
Looks like a maytag amp
can you find a 1957 ge washer
Terrible agitation. Why do they maje agitators with fins right to the top? It just drags the load and stops anything rolling over.
Can’t you try to do something with that rust? Unless it’s beyond being cleaned? I wouldn’t wash my clothes in that. I would be afraid that their would be residue from that rust transferred to my body.
It never looks like you add soap. This is very concerning to me for some odd reason. Maybe I"m used to seeing more suds.
Turnover is quite slow.
I think it was because it was so overloaded.
Overloaded, poor roll over.
