I love this thing. It's basically an IS-7 that trades armor for accuracy while keeping great mobility. And yes, I must agree that it's kinda helpless against heavy armor. It could use a minor buff to its premium pen, but otherwise it's a great tank.
I’d be interested in seeing you make a video on the forgotten Panther M10. Its armor is objectively poor, its gun has the same DPM as panther but much less penetration, it’s power to weight is lower, the hull traverse is 15 degrees slower, and it has 40m less view range. The only thing it has going for it, if you can even call it an advantage, is 2 more degrees of gun depression, which you can’t even use because the armor is garbage, and a bit better camo rating.
I understand the frustration with shooting, I regularly get my rounds go clean through an opponent's turret as if it isn't there or bounces from easy pen locations
man I got kicked out of my clan just for being inactive for a day, lolz. I feel the 5a, IS7 and the grille 15 needs a premium pen buff(honestly, the AP pen was fine but premium pen is too less for a tier X tank destroyer)
What's the problem if it lake of penetration but still shine in almost everything else. kind of The IS-7 vibes here why should a collectable be an exception ? You can't get everything you want in this game or it'll be unfair...
I was using cal too but it felt like having 1.5k dpm. Now with rammer I get 3.5k or more once in every two games. If you strugle penetrating just use HE ammo sometimes or like I do just go on medium side
I bought it year ago on christmas auctions for 13.5k gold and I don't regret it. From last month I got 3.2k avg dmg on that even tho I have about 2.5k on other t10s
You know I did my first 7k battle today and we lost with nobody but me doing over 1k damage. I didn't even get mad after that game and its making the game so much more fun now
I just got this tank with about 1.5k gold when opening a mega container crate. How lucky I am. I choose penetration instead of reload time and hull armor instead of HP. It's a beast when I play in the hill area, get bouncing shots all the time haha. So strong, quite the average balancing tank I play ever.
Sold it along with the 30b to get snow globes. I got the Strv k and the Carro 45T which was my mission this crimbo. I’ll buy them back at some point during the year.
I like the 5a a lot.was thanking about running improved control, big and small speed and 1 food and calibrated. To change the tank into a faster not mobile tank. Just to try it out

You think it needs a pen buff? You said yourself that it has everything else going for it. Ever heard of the "equalizing factor"? Well, that's it. You lose pen for being a p2w, and that's that.
Droodles I didn't want to pester you again with your terrible balance choices but you just can't help yourself. Stop asking for buffing premiums just because you like them and want them to be stronger. You are not for balancing. Deal with it. Bias should have be included in balance choices.

I love the 5A, Had 4 battles and 3 of them were aces after repurchasing it. I went from saying "not bad" to "oh damn" to "not another ace"

I like the 5a, I have a similar playstyle to doodles so it resonates with me.
WotPC 5a has 340mm of heat pen if Wg gives that to the 5a in blitz it would be a more competitive tank.
Tip: Run refined gun on 5a, that .293 dispersion will pay itself off many times over.

A minor buff to its armour would be nice. Mediums hardly need to aim to pen this.
