Great video. The Zorki was the camera that inspired my love of photography at the tender age of fourteen. Now as pro shooter in my twilight years, I still have several Zorki's that I use on holidays. Keep film alive.
Beautiful. Thank you for making this video. I have the same camera which was my first ever camera over 40 years ago. I dugout the camera and tried it again and it worked. Thank you for sharing
Great video! Thank you for sharing the layout of controls, I''ve just bought one of these little babies and I mostly guessed what the buttons were about, but now I can go shooting feeling safe and reassured.
Very nice and useful video, I’m waiting for my Zorki C to arrive which looks more or less the same as your 2C, didn’t realise that loading the film was completely different to my Zorki 4K’s. Thanks. Thought a lot of your images had a slight green tint or was it just the scenes, very nice location for photography though. Richard
Absolutely brilliant video! Just ordered one of these and cannot wait til it arrives. I had searched and searched online for the manual in English and finally found one, but your video saves me from having to read the thing 👏 Thank you!
I started my slippery slope into rangefinders with the Zorki 4 which has a combination of rangefinder and viewfinder in one window maybe try focusing first then compose. Enjoy your film journey.
Enjoy your reviews! Like the Zorki 2c might get one for myself! Love the shots of the beaches. I also belong to Seal Rescue Ireland! Nice going! Stay safe and keep up the good work.
Hi, great video and convinced me to get one that just arrived!! It seems in good working order. I loaded the film as explained and something strange is happening: I take the shot and start winding to load the next and, while I do that, the camera takes another shot without warning. After that it reloads ok, ready for another shot. It was not doing this without the film loaded.
I 100% agree. The only thing stopping me from using it more often is just the extra few steps for loading film. However I probably will use it for an upcoming video soon.
they are actually very simple to load if you ignore the conventional wisdom and look at it differently. I found this out from a Japanese video on loading a similar camera, maybe a leica. You push in between the pressure plate and the front of the camera a stiff card. It should be near the sprocket wheel and go as far down as possible. Insert the film between the card and the pressure plate, already in the correct direction (backwards from the obvious) on the take up spool. It should be relatively taught. The card should be just thick enough that it prevents the teeth of the sprocket wheel engaging the film. When it is in all the way, remove the card and wind the film going slowly so the teeth engage the holes in the film.
@@geoffreymendelson that is brilliant advice! Thanks so much for that I'll definitely give it a go. The easier it is to load up the camera the more likely I am to use it.
I had a zorki 4 many years ago. The lack of parallax markings in the viewfinder caused some problems with composition but with the coupled rangefinder and quite fast shutter speeds I got some great photos with it. I eventually traded it in for a Zenit because I waned t try an SLR but I’m sorry I did.
Hi, thanks for the video. I just bought the Zorki 2C on ebay, and still waiting the delivery. Hope to have found a bugless camera. I will use b&w films, anyway I'll give you my opinion as soon as I will be a little practiced. See ya!!
The C letter is in Russian the S letter. So... Zorki 2C in infact Zorki 2S. S stands for synchrone. On the front of the camere aboth the selftimer knob you have a synchrone connection for a flash. Well done.
I love rangefinders. I have both a FED 3 and a Zorki 4 and I really enjoy using both of them. I also think you got some decent shots. Just keep practicing.
Thank yo so much! Make sure to share it with all your friends and family 😂 as for the songs I just kinda find them as I go. I'll try to remember to put links for them in the description.
@@clicks_with_alex Thanks! I really want to try another lens. For example, old russian lens: Orion-15 28/6.0 (super sharp lens for architecture) and may be Jupiter 3+ 50/1.5. As far as I know they should fit the Zorki mount. Any advice for non-russian lenses?
Well here is the trick from what I've learned but am yet to test out. The old leica lenses from around the same time period should be compatible with your camera. If you have the money for one then that's what I'd go for. Just be sure that you are definitely getting a compatible lens before you spend any money.
Rather than cutting the existing roll of film just add a piece to the roll, that way you will get more frames per roll, I do this all the time and frequently get 39 shots per 36 roll. Fuji Acros 100 II is 12.99 euro per roll so every frame counts.
not small ;3 Big brain ;3 This actually isnt that bad camera. i own Leica III and now m4 but Zorki is really good camera. But if you have good copy and serviced ;3 i shot more than 20 roll with Zorki 1 and heh it is good camera :3 And about shuter if you by mistake set speed b4 wind it on you just will have bad shutter speed. You can dammage it but more important is to load film correct. This is actually more important. If you set speed by mistake it wont make to much.
when you cut the leader for bottom loading cameras like this, try to cut the leader smoothly not at right angles as this is a great way to snag the film and cause a bit of film to break off into the shutter. Not a good idea
Haha sorry I would only it now has a sentimental value to me. However you can certainly find some on Ebay for a great price. Thanks for watching and stay safe out there.
Haha the editing of the history section. Well done :)

Good start Alex, try the Jupiter 8 lens, and people shots. I think everyone mess up the first roll.
beautiful
Great video, thanks for uploading. Super useful - just subscribed!

Amazing video! I just recently fot a rangefinder and in love with how they work!
Thank you dude! They are so cool, I also find it crazy that this one is over 60 years old and still works. They really built to last back then.
@@clicks_with_alex Yeah so crazy! You can use them in the freezing cold and they'll still work too! Great cameras
Your drone footage is amazing!
Thank you so much!
Enjoyed your video. Have a few Zorkis, and still learning while getting surprised at the results.
That's brilliant!
The quality of your video is astounding, it was an cinematic experience. Loved it so much you deserve so many more subscribers.

Had a couple of Zorki 4s over the years, great cameras and just the one viewfinder to worry about.
1 viewfinder would certainly half my troubles! I'll definitely look into it Medwyn.

Amazing video! Very impressed with the quality of context from such a low subchannel. You earned a sub!
Thank you so much! That really means so much!

Can you make a video in which you show how to unwind it?
Thanks Jeroen! I can't believe I forgot to record that bit for the video. I'll be sure to add it next time I take it out.
@@clicks_with_alex Awesome! I bought the same camera and your video seems to be the only one that clearly shows how to operate it. Thanks in advance!

I've got Zorki 1 w/ Industar-22 50/3.5 lens. It's almost perfect for me :) I think to try another lens...

Could you please tell me witch is the best Zorki of the three
Zorki 1 , Zorki C , Zorki 2-C
Thx for Help

hey! what do you actually mean by "add a piece to the roll"? Just got started and sounds like good advice but I just don't get it

Do you have to use a different form of screw to set in on a tripod ? As the hole seems to be big.
It looks big but it in fact isn't, a normal tripod screw will fit right in.
Hey bro, what Lens is that? Is it a Jupiter? Cheers
I found the Zorki 1 was nicer to use
Well done you lol
