I loved that scene because while Batman was in costume, he had his cowl off and didn't speak in his "Batman voice". He wasn't Batman, brooding to go out and bust some bad guys. He was Bruce Wayne, happy for the chance he's giving a talented kid. He was almost like a proud father. I loved Under the Red Hood and Mask of the Phantasm because they explored why he's Batman besides the death of his parents. Because someone who has gone through what he has, who doesn't have Bruce's willpower and drive and restraint, would go to the dark places. And he sees it as his mission to prevent that from happening. And sometimes, like with Jason Todd and Andrea Beaumont, he fails. Before the end scene, Batman's in the Batwing and Alfred asks him if would like him to take Jason's Robin costume down from the display cases. Batman replies that nothing's changed.

Apokolips War is out? I’m here because I’ve just been in a DC animated universe mood and so ordered the DC Animated 10 year limited edition Blu-ray box set that comes with 30 DC Animated films along with Justice League the Animated series and Justice League Unlimited and the original Teen Titans series on Blu-ray.
“We both looked into the abyss, but when it looked back at us...you blinked.” Such a great line. As a self proclaimed DC super fan, I love all these movies, and the ones that were left off. And if you’re just going to get started on these movies, he’s right, Under the Red Hood is the best and the best to start with imo
The earliest DC Animated movie I saw was "Under the Red Hood"...hardly any of the rest I've seen holds a candle to that one...although Year One and Dark Knight are really good.
I friggin loved flashpoint paradox.... im a sucker for time travel/alt universe or timeline movies... back to the future 2 is what got me started on that shit!
Glad to see Green Lantern: First Flight get some love. My only gripe with the film is that Hal is a bit flat with no real arc. There’s a little swagger and snark, and I guess proving himself in spite of the authority figures that says he can’t is kind of there as an arc, but that’s about it. However I love the animation and alien environments, it’s got a simple but enjoyable good vs evil plot, and Sinestro and Kilowog were perfectly cast. So far the best Green Lantern film we’ve got in my eyes.
@Batman The Dark Knight SO because Hal is flat, the good points of the Movie don't exist, and thus its garbage? OK. I agree First Flight could have been done better, possibly as a two-part movie like TDKR, the first part more an adaptation of Emerald Dawn, with Hal's intro, growth from an Alcoholic Depressed Pilot to an Alcoholic MidLife Crisis suffering Cop and tutoring under Sinestro, then part Two with Sinestro's ideology on full display and his betrayal, but that doesn't mean FF was bad.
DC's animated movies are awesome. They dominate this sector. Marvel domintates the cinematics. Both have strongholds that make them stand out their own way.
black panther you *can*?? Boss, I've watched Under the Red Hood no less than 7 days since this lockdown started. It is a masterpiece every single time.
You’re logic and critic review was as great as the movies themselves ! You really have a great perspective and your words well thought out ! Keep them coming !
I kinda miss Sinestro from the First Flight especially his dialogue: "The only to operate out here is by 😱! They hit, I hit harder! They attacked, I ANNIHILATE! I am the one constant unassailable force against their chaos and you made them forget that!" Wow! Such a powerful dialogue. A true Sinestro indeed.
He's good, I think I prefer Mark Hamill's Joker overall, but Michael Emerson's Joker in The Dark Knight Returns is just perfectly cast for what they did with him in that story.
I have been saying this for years, the best Batman movie ever to hit the screens (animated and non-animated combined) is hands down 'Under the Red Hood'. The story, the music, the action, the morale of the movie, PERFECTION! You did a great job picking my favorite Batman movies in your list (Love Mask of the Phantasm, amazing movie but I believe it is commonly overrated as the BEST OF THE BEST). You have chosen exactly my personal favorite Batman movies, except for one missing, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, but I know you are ranking all DC movies and not just Batman ones. Great list and good analysis! Cheers
MY TOP 3 3.Batman Under The Red Hood 2 Flashpoint Paradox 1.The Dark Knight Returns TDKR is my favourite Dc animated movie and one of my favourites movies overall but im still happy it is on your list :D
My favourites are Assault on Arkham, which i find criminally underrated. It's just fun all-around. And a bit different. Crisis on Two Earths. I just love the 'evil' Justice League. Owlman and Superwoman make for awesome villains. Owlman's last line is also so applicable to his views. "Nothing matters". Under the Red Hood. It's just great all round.
Justice league Soon was phenomenal.. Under the Red Hood is great..loved the voice acting. I felt Jason Todd's anger against the Joker as well as Batman was great! There are others that I haven't seen, but Public Enemies is great. My best one is Batman Year one. He isn't driven for closure. He's driven for Justice period. A dark Knight driven to make sure things are made right by what ever needs to be done as long as he doesn't cross that line. He does what cops can't do
0:09 OMG! That explains SO MUCH! I use to buy them regularly up until flash point. Now I barely pay attention to the releases. They are SO BORING now. The animated Marvel ones were also boring. This is eye opening thanks man.
"You won! And everybody still loses!" This line always stuck out to me because Bruce described this thing with Joker as a game. If he kills Joker, Joker wins. But, was Bruce winning when Joker killed Jason, or paralyzed Barbra, or killed Gordon's wife? Like yeah, by not killing Joker (I guess) Bruce wins, but everybody still loses.
Also the line in Arkham when Koker says . You're looking good . Are you working out . You're looking a little pale..you really could use a little sun (son)
seriously batman return of the joker that was so damn boring he litrally told batman on how to defeat him it was soo boring even green lantern the live action movie is better than that
@@kshitij99951 We were clearly watching different movies, and you have you have the right to enjoy whatever you want. I thought the action was great, animation and voice acting was always on point, and seriously what they did to Tim Drake was dark. But that's my opinion and I enjoyed it immensely.
Great list my personal favorites (I enjoyed most of them in some shape or form) 1. Superman vs The Elite 2. Under the Red Hood 3. Wonder Woman 4. First Flight 5. Death of Superman 6. Public Enemies 7. All Star Superman 8. Apokolips War 9. Crisis on Two Earths 10. Doom A lot of these animated movies are so good, I'm going to be kicking myself in the butt when I realize I left a great one off the list.
The Flashpoint Paradox is my favourite. Not only was the story epic, but the character of Barry Allen was so well done. Totally gives you so much appreciation for The Flash, and why he’s such a damn good hero.
@8:45 Who hasn't seen the "you dare?!" scene between Batman and Darkseid as a clip on RUclips or elsewhere? I love when Batman tells Darkseid the encrypted code he used! Darkseid knew he wasn't bluffing.
Great list. Have you seen The Long Halloween part one? Brilliant voice acting and excellent themes… honestly it has one of my favorite portrayals of the JOKER. Every time he was on screen I died laughing. That’s a rarity since a lot of times he’s portrayed as an obnoxious clown or this existential chaos. This simply showed his insane jester side and I loved it. Ackles voiced Batman flawlessly. And Josh Duhamel was so convincing as Two Face. I can’t wait for part two!
Under the red hood is my favorite because it adapts the original story perfectly and cuts out some the comics pointless fluff which in the end makes it much better
Dark Knight Returns is #10?? Hello no! It's the best animated adaptation of any comic book story I've ever seen. It's dark, gritty, and the soundtrack is haunting. And somehow the animators managed to copy Frank Miller's drawing style. Best of all, Batman sounds like Robocop.
Great choice for number one. It's been years since I've seen that movie and it still resonates with me. Up there with Batman: Mask of the Phantasm as one of my fave animated movies of all time.
Doom is by far my favorite on this list simply because it's the best Justice League movie. The team are all well representing by a great script, stellar casting, and dynamic art style
Dc animation is so good because they don't hold back: if story calls for violence, course language or even death, they don't shy away. Honestly I'm consistently just engaged with how amazing the story is that I forget I'm watching a cartoon lol!
Red Hood is a such a good movie. I really feel like that one belongs on the shelf next to the Burton and Nolan movies. Curious how you feel about Phantasm.
Flashpoint should have been higher on the list. It's the most human. What flash did is what most ppl would have done if they had a time machine, stop someone from dying
Your number one is completely Justified! There is no question on that! I'd still give it to The Dark Knight Returns mainly because the crew really did their homework and grabbed the style and story telling techniques used in the Gotham Knights episodes of Batman the Animated Series. Even grabbing the actual voice of Batman ( The Actor who played the original Robocop of all things!) from that small section of episode, into the whole film.
I haven’t seen them all but these are my top 10 10.batman year one 9.Justice league crisis on 2 earths 8. Green lantern first flight (haven’t seen in years) 7.The reign of the supermen 6.Batman under the red hood 5.batman mask of the phantasm 4.Justice league the new frontier 3.Batman beyond return of the joker 2.The death of superman 1.Batman the dark knight returns part 1 and 2
ive never agreed on a youtube top ten list MORE THAN THIS not seeing under the red hood throughout the list had me scared but seeing it in number one spot rly made me HAPPY
Under the red hood made me choose DC over marvel. No matter how good marvel cinematic universe gets it can never top DC for me. They just rushed into making DCEU happen, Such a shame. Suicide squad almost made me rethink my decision, Its so bad.
Under the red Hood .. you are so Right .. i knew you’ll choose it as the best .. it really hits you, about how wrong Batman was to pick this kids as His sidekicks but at the same time it did safe Them ... hard stuff
Agree with your comments on DC animated movies post Flashpoint. Overall quality has been less and less since but thought it was just me, thanks for explaining why that change has occurred. Spot on!
just because a movie has a good RT score does not warrant its quality, e.g Bohemian Rhapsody is a horribly edited movie, but fans and critics (blinded by their love for queen) could not distinguish between that and the movie. Reviews and discussions should be what movies are held to, not a number/score.
Mr. J how is simply adding a character to the storyline make it shit. And of all people Damian. Ur talking like he is an unnecessary character. If u r saying they to the transition of him geting into the universe being bad, that’s more understandable.
hemanta phurailatpam I watched it a week ago and I’m not surprised it’s been critically panned, it really is one of the worst of the new dc animated movies up there with suicide squad hell to pay, a lazy translation to screen, and the twist narratively makes no sense, the movie angers me so much I’m genuinely tempted to make a video on it
hemanta phurailatpam yeah I loved it too. Although I don’t particularly care for the twist ending, although I get why they did it (shock value and keeping viewers on their toes) it didn’t make as much sense as the original. But all the Batman and catwoman fan service is what made me fall in love with the movie as it shows what Batman would be like if he was happy and that’s all I want for him honestly
Under the Red Hood was the movie that got me into actually reading comics instead of waiting for movies to be released, and I'm glad it lead to plenty of good Red Hood interpretations.
OMG! I'm so glad I have each and every one of those treasured animated DC films in my DVD library. Now, I feel even better for being 60 years old ( okay, now OVER 60 years old ) and I'm still loving these animated film about the epic - best adventures of my life-long ( when done correctly ) heroes. THANK YOU super fame
Seen every single one including all of the TV shows and live action movies and I do think that under the red hood is probably most noteworthy for showing what the DCAU could be. I remember that everyone was talking about it at the time and it's the movie that got me into watching all of the movies in the first place, then after Flashpoint I finally decided to watch justice league and unlimited plus young justice. You just made me realize that it all really started with me watching under the red hood.
Good video. I think Justice League: Gods and Monsters is an amazing and underappreciated movie. The character development was just superb and even though we don't see the Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Batman we are used to, the characters's background history was meaningful to their overall character, it's not just some unnecessary explanation, but the point of everything they stand for.
Somehow, the way Wonder Woman braids her hair in "Justice League-War" and its followers gives an impressive enough vibe of someone who means business as a warrior and someone adamant about war-free subjects as a future queen.
That last line of Batman: Under The Red Hood, “This is the best day of my life!” Coming after everything in the film, it’s genuinely heartbreaking. I would have moved Superman/Batman Apocalypse (My partner and I sat just stunned after that incredible action sequence near the end. Then my partner broke the silence and said, very dryly, “Now we know how corn gets creamed.” Which is very funny regardless. But if you recall Smallvilles’s town slogan, which my partner did, from the “Welcome to Smallville” sign seen as Clark and Kara drive by, his joke was one of the funniest things I’d ever heard) and Crisis On Two Earths up two notches each, but this is a great list of great movies for compelling reasons. And the script is very good, and occasionally excellent, with several original rhetorical constructions I really enjoyed. It pays to listen closely, as the reading doesn’t seem to know when the writing is particularly strong. Great job.
I would have said Year One was my favourite but I found the Batman voice actor lacking. I like all the DC animated movies except the incredibly irritating Batman: Ninja.
Justice League War was the first sign that the DC animated movies were going down hill, its stiff looking animation, uncreative cinematography ( its animation so idk if you can even call it that) all the DC movies looked dynamic and refreshing before JL:War (look at GL First Flight or Justice League Doom), Jay Oliva is a storyboard artist and somehow found his way in the directing chair, ever since then all the movies have looked flat, shot side on, with reverse shots, the only thing slightly refreshing is the action.
I completely agree with you Batman under the Red Hood is the best animation movie by far. Been saying it for years. Green Lantern first flight should be higher up on your list though. Great video, Keep It Coming
sara Those ones are so unrealistic tho. The power scaling is way off they make Damien on the same level as Nightwing, Batman and deathstroke three of the top 10 fighters. When in the comics he can’t even beat any of those guys if they had their eyes closed
@@womar8 yeah thats true about nightwing, he was trained since he was a kid by batman i refuse to believe he can't beat Damian but at the same time, Damian was trained to be an assassin or warrior or whatever his grandfather had in store for him.
sara yeah, but still in the comics when they fought nighwing beat him very easily. In terms of combat Batman has said they are equals. Also Damien isn’t even able to beat Tim drake or even hurt him much, but I’m supposed to believe he can do anything to nightwing🤦🏾♂️
i still feel that out of all of DC's animated movies, Under the red hood is the only one you could shoot in live action, shot for shot, and it would not only still work, but would be one of the best Batman adaptations out there
I appreciate your opinion, because I saw The Apocalypse War and thought it exploitative garbage. Yet it consistently gets top marks everywhere I look. I feel less alone in my minority opinion, now. Thanks.
@@jonathonriddle9922 You are not alone, I despise these new DC movies because of how lackluster they are compared to the old ones. It's weird how there're fanboys of these new movies everywhere on RUclips constantly praising them, they just forgot the old movies exist and think these new ones are the best, lol.
List is pure facts. I personally like superman v elite more but the list is better than almost all I've seen. The new 52 movies are cool and all but they don't hold up to the older movies.
1-Crisis on two earths: Perfect Justice League action. Incredible fights, awesome villians. My favorite DC animated movie if I exclude Mask of Phantasm. 2-Superman vs Elite: Defines Superman as a character. 3-Batman Under the Red Hood: Incredible movie and awesome action. Far more better than original comic version. 4-New Frontier: You said everything. 5-Wonder Woman: Really good origin story for WW. Good villian and good action 6-Green Lantern: First Flight. Another good origin story handeled really well. Plus Sinestro is awesome. Emerald Knights is a nice movie but it's short stories compilation. 7-Superman/Batman Public enemies and Apocalypse: High action movies I expected from Superman and Batman team up. I like Public Enemies story more but Apocalpse's action is better. 8-Justice League Doom: Original story is superior but hard to adapt, that's why this movie handeled it well with some unique additions. 9-Justice League Dark: Constantine is awesome, Deadman is awesome, Etrigan is awesome, Zatanna is awesome, why we don't have more magic side of DC universe. Their team dynamic is much better than N52 Movie Justice League and they are more likeble. 10-Teen Titans Judas Contract: Inferior compared to original comic version but at least there are good character moments. Better than most of the N52 Movies. I didn't watch resent movies like Gas Light or Death of Superman. Never Liked Flaspoint's comic version neither liked its adaptation. Return of the Dark Knight and Year One are wastly inferior compared to comic versions. If you make an adaptation you have to improve it like Elite, Public Enemies and Under the Red Hood or add something unique like Doom, New Frontier or Judas Contact.
I mostly agree with everything on this list except for the placing of “Justice League: Doom”. I think it does a fantastic job at showing each member’s morals and what their characters stand for. Green Lantern is cocky and impulsive, but he feels immeasurable guilt when he fails. Wonder Woman refuses to accept defeat, even when it would probably be the wisest decision. Flash remains comedic, but is more than willing to sacrifice himself should the day come. Martian Manhunter trusts people, and though this could be seen as naive, it only comes back to bite him once. Superman is a symbol of hope, not only for the future, but for humanity and its character. What society could be. And finally, Batman. A character who does what he views as just, even though it might compromise his morality. This movie made me finally understand the Flash and Superman, along with their appeal.
"he took me away from you." getting a glimpse of the love jason still held for bruce, and shining through his b.s. that wasn't his contempt for what batman does, but just not truly understanding why he does it the way he does.

18:44 Batman : Under The Red Hood
And yes Batman : Under The Red Hood is the badass animated movie ever!!
aah, a hero that doesn't wear cape or a mask
Anyone here after Justice League Dark: Apokolips War?
Yep! It's a good one :)
Yeah lol
Apokolips War is out? I’m here because I’ve just been in a DC animated universe mood and so ordered the DC Animated 10 year limited edition Blu-ray box set that comes with 30 DC Animated films along with Justice League the Animated series and Justice League Unlimited and the original Teen Titans series on Blu-ray.
Aye
amazing movie!
Time Paradox is as good as red hood easy maybe even a little better than hood
Batman:Under The Red Hood,Superman vs The Elite and Justice League Crisis on Two Earths are my favorites.
Good picks
Pure facts
Justice league crisis on 2 earths is fantastic!
@Sarim I’ve never seen Superman vs the elite though. I saw fight scene from it. It looked great. How would you rate it?
@Sarim Well now I think I wanna check it out. Thanks
My two cents:
3.Crisis on Two Earths
2 Flashpoint Paradox
1.Batman Under The Red Hood
Under the red hood, Batman: Year one, Flashpoint Paradox my top 3 favorite DC animated movies
they're pretty great hey
I friggin loved flashpoint paradox.... im a sucker for time travel/alt universe or timeline movies... back to the future 2 is what got me started on that shit!
The newest Superman Red Son.. oh god damn such a masterpiece
How could anyone say dc's animated movies are children's stories tf
Such a good Elseworld
by far my favorite dc animated film
That movie was subpar at best.
And for that reason, I do not believe it should be higher, or even on the list, compared to movies like the Dark Knight Returns and Wonder Woman
Agreed
@Batman The Dark Knight SO because Hal is flat, the good points of the Movie don't exist, and thus its garbage? OK.
I agree First Flight could have been done better, possibly as a two-part movie like TDKR, the first part more an adaptation of Emerald Dawn, with Hal's intro, growth from an Alcoholic Depressed Pilot to an Alcoholic MidLife Crisis suffering Cop and tutoring under Sinestro, then part Two with Sinestro's ideology on full display and his betrayal, but that doesn't mean FF was bad.
It was still a good film for goodness sake! Still better than the live action version.
If First Flight is so good, how did they mess up the movie? (Ryan Renold's Green Lantern)
DC's animated movies are awesome. They dominate this sector. Marvel domintates the cinematics. Both have strongholds that make them stand out their own way.
Jason Todd’s monologue was amazing. More people should watch under the red hood.
Flashpoint Paradox should've been top 3. Everything else is ok with me ✌
defiantly
It might event be top of the list.
I must say that your evaluation of DC vids is much more thoughtful, deliberate, and nuanced than any other I've seen so far. Keep it up!
I can watch (Under the Red Hood ) everyday , that last scene gets to me every time 😢
black panther you *can*?? Boss, I've watched Under the Red Hood no less than 7 days since this lockdown started. It is a masterpiece every single time.
Bruce Greenwood is a vastly underrated Batman. He is up there near Kevin Conroy.
Bruce Greenwood is an underrated Canadian voice actor and actor in general.
Mad underrated he’s great in young justice
You’re logic and critic review was as great as the movies themselves ! You really have a great perspective and your words well thought out ! Keep them coming !
Yes. The fact that Dean Winchester plays Red Hood is perfect to lol
He was perfect in the role.
@@somerandolad Understatement of the generation. He’s to Jason Todd the way Mark Hamill is to the Joker and the way Rdj is to Iron Man
I kinda miss Sinestro from the First Flight especially his dialogue:
"The only to operate out here is by 😱! They hit, I hit harder! They attacked, I ANNIHILATE! I am the one constant unassailable force against their chaos and you made them forget that!"
Wow! Such a powerful dialogue. A true Sinestro indeed.
First flight has some of the best dc animation!
100% agree with this list
sometimes I watch a DC movie and wonder, why they can't learn from the animated movies.
Batman: Under the Red Hood... EPIC! Crisis on Two Earths... EPIC!... That's all I can remember when I think of my favs!!!
I love both those movies really good I loved the scene where Batman vs Owlman and the dialogue they exchange
What about Flashpoint Paradox?!?! 🥺
There are a lot more great DC ANIMATED movies
Before watching the video: if under the red hood isn’t number 1 someone will die
Edit: ok good, John DiMaggio was amazing as the joker
no killing joke
@@gasternecross that was bad
@@mrrd4444its not that bad
I wish he would reprise one day. John was amazing first time he voiced Joker.
Cheers
MY TOP 3
3.Batman Under The Red Hood
2 Flashpoint Paradox
1.The Dark Knight Returns
TDKR is my favourite Dc animated movie and one of my favourites movies overall but im still happy it is on your list :D
I agree completely, but I personally just swap 1 with 2 but barely anything in it
3.Crisis on Two Earths
2 Flashpoint Paradox
1.Batman Under The Red Hood
You're so right. Literally so incredible. Don't understand why this list had DKR at number 10.
I agree, 1. Dark Knight Return 2. Under the Red Hood 3. Flash Point
Flashpoint Paradox was good, but not on par with TDKR or Under the Red hood.
What a goddam great video. Inspired me to start watching these again with friends who haven't seen them.
that sounds like a great idea :D
Justice league Soon was phenomenal.. Under the Red Hood is great..loved the voice acting. I felt Jason Todd's anger against the Joker as well as Batman was great! There are others that I haven't seen, but Public Enemies is great. My best one is Batman Year one. He isn't driven for closure. He's driven for Justice period. A dark Knight driven to make sure things are made right by what ever needs to be done as long as he doesn't cross that line. He does what cops can't do
Wow, I had that same thought.
0:09 OMG! That explains SO MUCH! I use to buy them regularly up until flash point. Now I barely pay attention to the releases. They are SO BORING now. The animated Marvel ones were also boring. This is eye opening thanks man.
"You won! And everybody still loses!"
This line always stuck out to me because Bruce described this thing with Joker as a game.
You never lose by doing the right thing.
@@krane15 But he didn't win when Jason was killed, either.
@@krane15 , allowing the joker to merrily maim kill and torture people is not right my guy.
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker and Batman: Mask of the Phantasm are my favourites.
seriously batman return of the joker that was so damn boring he litrally told batman on how to defeat him it was soo boring even green lantern the live action movie is better than that
@@kshitij99951 We were clearly watching different movies, and you have you have the right to enjoy whatever you want. I thought the action was great, animation and voice acting was always on point, and seriously what they did to Tim Drake was dark. But that's my opinion and I enjoyed it immensely.
Great list my personal favorites (I enjoyed most of them in some shape or form)
1. Superman vs The Elite
2. Under the Red Hood
3. Wonder Woman
4. First Flight
5. Death of Superman
6. Public Enemies
7. All Star Superman
8. Apokolips War
9. Crisis on Two Earths
10. Doom
A lot of these animated movies are so good, I'm going to be kicking myself in the butt when I realize I left a great one off the list.
For me "super heroes" are the new age stories of the gods. Humans are either good or evil, it's either right or wrong.
Somebody's watching too much Ancient Aliens
Good vs evil and wright and wrong is the basis for all stories. The fact that they're SH just give you more material to work with.
Mirror Master is so thoughtful and caring: "Careful" xD after attaching a bomb to his best friend's wrist.
He said its not a numerical countdown per say, just the ten best.
Uhh his opinion he chooses and what people can't have opinions?
It’s not always about being dark and gritty, but I see what you mean
Oh CALM THE FUCK DOWN Batman fanboy. Damn. Red Hood beats that movie anyway. "DaRk aNd gritTy" who cares. That doesn't mean it's perfect or great.
@@UnifiedEntity Tell that to the thousands of new 52 fanboys who think the Apokolips War is the best DC movie, ffs.
They should make a live action film of **under the red hood** {scenebyscene}
I haven’t seen them all but these are my top 10
10.batman year one
9.Justice league crisis on 2 earths
8. Green lantern first flight (haven’t seen in years)
7.The reign of the supermen
6.Batman under the red hood
5.batman mask of the phantasm
4.Justice league the new frontier
3.Batman beyond return of the joker
2.The death of superman
1.Batman the dark knight returns part 1 and 2
Osian Coleman if you haven’t seen them how are they in your top 10...
This is an awful list
Ross I’ve seen all the ones in my top 10. I haven’t seen every single dc animated movie. Like I’ve seen a lot of them, just not all of them.
ive never agreed on a youtube top ten list MORE THAN THIS not seeing under the red hood throughout the list had me scared but seeing it in number one spot rly made me HAPPY
Under the red hood made me choose DC over marvel.
No matter how good marvel cinematic universe gets it can never top DC for me.
They just rushed into making DCEU happen,
Such a shame.
Suicide squad almost made me rethink my decision,
Its so bad.
@Omar Omar Completely disagree. Don't see how you came to that conclusion.
Under the red Hood .. you are so Right .. i knew you’ll choose it as the best .. it really hits you, about how wrong Batman was to pick this kids as His sidekicks but at the same time it did safe Them ... hard stuff
Im offended that mask of the phantasm isn't here but great video anyways
So am I lol. Although I massively respect this video for having under the red hood at #1
Agree with your comments on DC animated movies post Flashpoint. Overall quality has been less and less since but thought it was just me, thanks for explaining why that change has occurred. Spot on!
I personally think the New 52 animated movies do pretty good and have good RT scores
just because a movie has a good RT score does not warrant its quality, e.g Bohemian Rhapsody is a horribly edited movie, but fans and critics (blinded by their love for queen) could not distinguish between that and the movie. Reviews and discussions should be what movies are held to, not a number/score.
@Batman The Dark Knight look into how the RT scores are calculated man, it isnt an average.
SUPER FRAME either way. Like a lot of people , I loved the new 52 movies.
The new 52 movies take classic stories and change it just for the inclusion of damian. Shits trash
Mr. J how is simply adding a character to the storyline make it shit. And of all people Damian. Ur talking like he is an unnecessary character. If u r saying they to the transition of him geting into the universe being bad, that’s more understandable.
When they gonna make KINGDOM COME animated movie???
Would rather see a live action version, but i doubt that will ever happen
I think it hasn’t been made because the no animated movie could give its art justice
I’d love a massive 3 1/2 hour film treatment of it
I think new frontier is Kingdom come in some way
They’re probably afraid to do it since they tripped on other anticipated adaptations like Killing Joke and Hush
@@thatfelordwhodieshalfwayth7107 You say that, but the art is one thing I didn't like about kingdom come, the story was good though.
I love the new movie "Batman hush". I have read the comic 5 yrs ago, n the animation turns out to be quite good.
hemanta phurailatpam I watched it a week ago and I’m not surprised it’s been critically panned, it really is one of the worst of the new dc animated movies up there with suicide squad hell to pay, a lazy translation to screen, and the twist narratively makes no sense, the movie angers me so much I’m genuinely tempted to make a video on it
hemanta phurailatpam yeah I loved it too.
Happy Batfam would be good in general tbh
Batman:Hush was trash, easily one of the worst DC animated movies
it started alright but ended so very badly.
Justice League: War, Flashpoint, Death of Superman, Red Hood and Apocalypse are my top 5
I would change Red Hood for Doom but the rest I agree but First Flight has to number 6
Crisis on Two Earths' theme is just awesome! And James Woods?! Yeah.
Under the Red Hood was the movie that got me into actually reading comics instead of waiting for movies to be released, and I'm glad it lead to plenty of good Red Hood interpretations.
Damn that was good! I agree Red Hood is the best! I've seen them all except for the Green Lantern movie. I'm gonna check it out! Great video!
Honestly, I've been loving the new DCAMU (The New 52 Universe) movies. I just think they tell new stories that haven't been explored too much.
They definitely aren't even close to the pre-flashpoint movie era but I still enjoy them quite a lot.
The character development was just superb and even though we don't see the Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Batman we are used to, the characters's background history was meaningful to their overall character, it's not just some unnecessary explanation, but the point of everything they stand for.
the plot was so good
Somehow, the way Wonder Woman braids her hair in "Justice League-War" and its followers gives an impressive enough vibe of someone who means business as a warrior and someone adamant about war-free subjects as a future queen.
great top 10 list man
That last line of Batman: Under The Red Hood, “This is the best day of my life!” Coming after everything in the film, it’s genuinely heartbreaking.
Justice League: War and Batman: Assault on Arkham not being on this list is absolute blasphemy.
Considering them as good movies is blasphemy especially Justice League: War.
@Luc Germain Darkside was a bit stiff but I didn't think it was that bad.
The Artz Stiff? He wasn’t the scheming magnificant bastard overlord, he was nothing more than a brute
Justice League War should be in the list. Flashpoint should be higher.
Man, you are underrated. Good job on the vid.
I completely agree with you Batman under the Red Hood is the best animation movie by far. Been saying it for years. Green Lantern first flight should be higher up on your list though. Great video, Keep It Coming
Superman / Batman: Public Enemies is so underrated
Agreed I rewatched it recently and It's still one of my favorites
VERY underrated
It sucked for me personally. I watched the wjole movie and I don't wanna fo back to it.
THE BATMAN AND DAMIAN MOVIES WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY HEART. batman vs robin, son of batman, batman:bad blood
sara Those ones are so unrealistic tho. The power scaling is way off they make Damien on the same level as Nightwing, Batman and deathstroke three of the top 10 fighters. When in the comics he can’t even beat any of those guys if they had their eyes closed
sara they also make nightwing insanely weak he’s suppposed to be equal to Batman, but can barely beat Damien and got whooped by Batman easily
Also Damien isn’t even able to beat Tim drake or even hurt him much, but I’m supposed to believe he can do anything to nightwing🤦🏾♂️
igot_ game14 what really damian can’t beat tim??? i cant believe that 💀💀💀💀
Green Lantern: Emerald Knights is my personal fav
i still feel that out of all of DC's animated movies, Under the red hood is the only one you could shoot in live action, shot for shot, and it would not only still work, but would be one of the best Batman adaptations out there
I’m glad that I’m not the only one that feels DCs animated movies have been a bit lacking lately.
I hate the art style
I appreciate your opinion, because I saw The Apocalypse War and thought it exploitative garbage. Yet it consistently gets top marks everywhere I look. I feel less alone in my minority opinion, now. Thanks.
@@jonathonriddle9922 You are not alone, I despise these new DC movies because of how lackluster they are compared to the old ones. It's weird how there're fanboys of these new movies everywhere on RUclips constantly praising them, they just forgot the old movies exist and think these new ones are the best, lol.
Ryan The Animator People like you who label anybody who disagrees with their unpopular opinions as “fanboys” are cancer.
@@fissilewhistle What unpopular opinions? And what did I do to you to call me cancer? You are the bigger cancer here, asshole.
List is pure facts. I personally like superman v elite more but the list is better than almost all I've seen. The new 52 movies are cool and all but they don't hold up to the older movies.
everybody look at 6:51 you dont get that type of animation in the new movies
exactlyyyy
1-Crisis on two earths: Perfect Justice League action. Incredible fights, awesome villians. My favorite DC animated movie if I exclude Mask of Phantasm.
2-Superman vs Elite: Defines Superman as a character.
3-Batman Under the Red Hood: Incredible movie and awesome action. Far more better than original comic version.
4-New Frontier: You said everything.
5-Wonder Woman: Really good origin story for WW. Good villian and good action
6-Green Lantern: First Flight.
Top 4:
Batman: Assault on Arkham
Batman: Under the Red Hood
Flashpoint
Crisis on 2 Earths
I agree with this list 100%. Things I've been saying for yeaaars. YES.
"he took me away from you." getting a glimpse of the love jason still held for bruce, and shining through his b.s. that wasn't his contempt for what batman does, but just not truly understanding why he does it the way he does.
Yeah..I think I will just curl up in my corner...and cry myself to sleep, yeah.
Despite how short it is, that bathroom beatdown in Under the Red Hood is one of my favorite cinematic fights.
I've seen Green Lantern First Flight so many times and never get tired of it. Sinistro is one of the best villains in a comic book movie period
Glad Wonder Woman was so high on the list. That movie makes me want an animated series really bad.
but it wasn’t ranked was it?
Bruh I love the new art style and animation it looks more serious and for an older audience.

2. Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
3. Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths
I am in total agreement

Under the red hood truly is a masterpiece :)
My personal favorite dc movies are
3. Batman beyond return of the Joker
2. Under the red hood
1. Mask of the phantasm
