Thermocol walls, Gypsum internal wall lining, with thermal insulation reduces the internal room temperature. means, less AC capacity, less power consumption. but more the glass area, more the heat to rooms. In middle east, hot area, for traditional construction used minimum glass window size. add to this, designer detailed sun shade structures for windows and open areas. Roof, 100mm. hd thermocoll panels are used.

Good Morning. Such thermocol sheets are manufactured in commercial qty by Jindal Power and Steel Ltd at Angur plant premises of JSPL. We were introduced to this when we wanted to construct staff quarters in Boudh district of Odisha - 3 floors with 24 double room in each floor. We went and inspected the thermocol sheets mfg plant as well as the building complex constructed with it for the employees of JSPL. Upto 4 floors there is no need for any concrete beams or columns. The quarters constructed by them had completed 5 yrs in 2017, when we visited them. We ventured into it in 2018 and completed our three floor complex as well as kitchen and dining area. Advantages are; 1. Construction is very fast 2. In the extreme heat of Odisha we realised that inside heat is less by about 3 to 5 degrees. 3. Though no major savings in cost, post constn mte may be very less. But some training may be required for sheets laying. They recommended us a group which had prior experience in the process. Now the said block in Odisha is going to complete four years. No problems so far
