One thing is for sure that online games works like drugs for extremely introvert people like us.
I just felt like sharing my story in short too. On 2016 I got admitted in a engineering dept, into a public university in Bangladesh. My classes started at 2017
For few personal reasons, also for being extremely introvert, not being able to make friends easily, new place, new life, also the rag culture... couldnt handle it. Stopped going to classes, missed a whole year, during that time used to play games 6-12 hours daily, as it helped me forget all the tension and my family wouldnt know about it too. Next year I started as a re-add. I thought I will be serious from now on. I will make a good result and tell my parents about my actual situation. But the reality was my batchmate were alreay 1 year ahead of me and I couldn't make friends with the junior classmates either. I was irregular again. As a result I started missing the classes angin. Started playing games fully. engineering even appeared to be so hard for me...
And for the next 1.5 years I had already have retake in my 10+ courses... I never even truly realized my situation back then. I didn’t know what to do. Only thing I did was making some online friends and playing games all the time. I thought this is the only thing I am good at...
But good news is... In between the covid19 pandemic something did change for me. Our depertment had some issues and we converted to EEE, and all of us had to face almost a 2 year loss due to corona and Department changing issue. Now I am attaining classes regularly, getting good cgpa in the semesters, have some friends, active in classes helping classmates with notes, and class lectures, making friends, some class mates now even look up to me.
I have wasted time. I need 1 more year to complete my graduation. I haven’t yet explained my situation to my family.
But one thing for sure... I am not playing the video games now... And probably by changing this habit and instead of hiding from the problem, by faceing it I have become a changed person.
I hope next year I can really tell my parents that I have become an engineer now.
Bro, degree is not a serious thing outside of your university. Live your life the way you like, enjoy and be happy. Hopefully you'll do hard work and complete your grad with good results. In career, your skills matter, so be hopeful and spend time with your college or university friends, not in any online community.
Dont always run after study. Lead your like you want. I suggest you to keep yourself out of games. Games dont help you in long run. And try to talk to others even if it is difficult and once you start you will be an extrovert.
mashaAllah. May Allah bless u bro.
Are you from RUET?

I was creeped out by the similarities this story had with my life, I'm a muslim born guy, introvert ,who became an atheist and islamaphobe too, I didn't lie about Uni but I was doing bad in my engineering and failing it, I lied to my parents saying that I'm doing good, I started a MMORPG similar to perfect life and used to play it all day to escape from my reality.but unlike him I loved my family a lot and eventually gathered courage to tell my family about me, I cried infront of my parents explaining them how I couldn't make them proud and how I failed in life. And since then I started looking for alternative paths in life and went into arts, life has changed and im settled in life now, I made peace with my religion and started respecting and valuing life and everything around me.i live a happy life, though I still have urges to go back to MMORPG, I restrain myself and made a pact with myself to never ever touch it again.

He is serving a life sentence and is ineligible for parole until he is 64 years old. As Global News reported, he will be banned from having weapons for at least 10 years if he is ever released. Before u read this comment just know that I regard that guy as a coward as well said by shrinkhal. It's also important to realize all the variables and situations that enabled him to choose this path instead of the others. So he's very obviously a procrastinator, he delayed his due pain by lying to his parents, when u create a big lie to avoid pain, it actually creates a snow ball effect to it and the lier feels the compounding effect with each passing day. This also kills his decision making abilities because everything he does is to cover up a big fat lie. He's already in a dark state but this isn't really something that'll enable him to think about slaughtering his parents. Now his parent's expectation with his graduation acts like an intensifier, with each praise, question and desire of his parents thrown at him, the void inside him is being multiplied. On top of that he isolated his social life too, which literally doesn't let him see even a ray of light in his life. Still ig many of us have been there more or less and yet not all of us chose to murder our loved ones. Here comes the tricky part, these factors cannot just put a thought of homicide in your mind, there must've been another variable that I or others don't know about. That thought was the trigger to defuse the stress points to get rid of the problem, and he associated those stress points with his parents, that's exactly why he was calm after killing the entire family. He felt a burst of relaxation combined with dopamine, sense of completion and stress relieve. But it was bound to turn into sorrow pretty soon cus that's what happens with many killers and I'm pretty sure it did. You could say that a lot of factors fell into the right place to trigger his killer instinct. Not protecting him though, filth should stay at the right place.
Bhai psychologist ho kya lambi katha banaraheho..parents ko marnewale ko khadi se khadi saja deni chahiye naki jail me aaram😮💨.

Dude... This is exactly what I think of when I hear on any killer... The circumstances and experiences they're put through to commit such an horrendous act... I'm not saying that every killer is like this... But the ones that kill their "supposedly loved ones" .... We just see the end result... But you don't know what all they have been put through to actually take the life of their family.
I'm not in anyway defending them but... We just fail to see this part

Victim mindset is also a narcissist trait. My mum has it and it needs help from profesionals like therapist and clinical psychologist, wish menhanz had the guts to face reality and seek help from profesionals. One thing he didn't find something that could make him have faith and inspiration could be the reason behind him becoming an atheist or not even believing in the universe maybe.

There is no justification for his actions, but at the same time I feel pity for him.
I very well know how it feels to have a family who expects so much of you and you just keep on failing those expectations.
About a year ago, I felt like i might fail a subject and instead of feeling sad for myself, all i could think about was just how much my father would be disappointed in me. it was to the point that i ugly cried just an hour before giving the exam.
Again, that guy deserves to be jailed for life, but at the same time I understand what he must've gone through in those years while living in constant shame.
If only he got the help he needed.

This is so sad. I feel so bad for the happy family. Zamans family was so nice. He would just share it or die by his own. How can people not care about their family. His father used to drive taxi all day just for his family.
People don't know how precious a family is. No matter how much a person is suffering, he doesn't get the license to kill the someone.
Everybody deserves to live.
I do not know if their family was "nice". Either Menhaz Zaman was born mentally ill or he was indirectly nurtured into a path of being a murderer.
However sad it may be, they were one of the primary reasons for Zaman to become a mass murderer.
If ONLY the parents do not pressurize their children to become the most so called "ideal son" or "ideal daughter", maybe they could have prevented such occurence from happening.
But anyways, no remorse of Menhaz. My Parents have pressurized me to pursue medicine though I had my passion as a novelist - a book author and a musician but I believe that they want the best out of me and so I want to respect that. And I know that I would pursue my passions no matter what so I am just waiting till I am settled financially and then plan to explore my interests.
But the way Menhaz had handled the situation is NO WAY to be supported. He has turned out to be one of the biggest COWARDS I have ever seen in my life.

I googled it and it has no similarity with Burari Case....In Burari case, the family became superstitious and paranoid to the extent that the entire family suicided. In Partha De's case, it wasn't any suicide, he just couldn't part with his dead mother's body who died naturally. He neither killed his mother nor did he kill himself. He was mentally unstable.
