Day 6 of the Advent Calendar! I decided to vid Raven, as she was for many years a character that I related to a lot, constantly being disappointed by the ones she loves and struggling to find happiness.
I must say that I haven't appreciated her character development since the beginning of S5. Throughout S1-S4, Raven was a strong, brave, genius mechanic who kept saving everyone while facing her own struggles. From S5 onwards, I found that she became very self-absorbed and stubborn (but not in the good way). I hated the way she was so blind to the blood on her own hands, and kept blaming everyone for the way things turned out (Clarke especially), pretending as if she had never done any unethical acts before. S7 made Raven sacrifice a few people to save herself, and I felt like this was established in the storyline as the first morally grey action she had ever taken; which I find ridiculous. While she may not have committed genocide like Clarke (or Bellamy for that matter) in S1-4, she did kill a few grounders without remorse, refuse to give the meds to Luna and Adria, the latter who died, etc. She wasn't 'pure' before S7, and I hate that it was shown like she was. Raven is not one of my favorite characters anymore because I do believe that they completely ruined her development (she's not the only one, I would argue that they pretty much ruined everyone after Praimfaya). But I'll always remember her as one of the characters I felt most attached to in the first few seasons, and rewatching most of S1-4 for this vid made me very emotional. You'll probably notice that I used a LOT of scenes from those seasons (especially S3 and S4), and few from the latter ones.
Anyways, I didn't mean to expand so much on that, but I have very strong feelings concerning the last few seasons of The 100!

You described my feelings on Raven in a way I couldn't myself for many years. She really did went from one of my favorite characters to one I couldn't stand to watch which is incredibly sad (but not surprisingly since almost everyone on the show went on a similar route for me). That being said this video was beautiful, super well made and it reminded me of the Raven I used to love, great great job

you pictured her character so well-🥺 and i agree with you 100%, The 100 ruined all of its characters after season 4 (some of them were still good in s5 tho), Raven used to be my third favorite character but she went really downhill just like the rest of them.
