    Just watched this video.I have 300se with this exact problem.Otherwise it runs beautifully.I now know how to fix the hot start problem thanks to you.I can save much 💰 by changing the part myself 👍😁Many thanks.Your videos are very clear,even a person with no real experience can follow.

    I've come across a unique situation. The accumulator on my '91 300e sedan is completely missing! I have 2 fuel pumps and one filter only. This makes me think the entire assembly was changed over from a different car at some point (were there ever any models without accumulator?). This setup can actually give us some insight on function of accumulator. In this state, the car is still reliable! It starts perfect in the morning with half a crank. Drive around and park it on a hot-day for 20 minutes, and it starts on slightly longer crank. Park it for 2 hours or more, and it cranks very long and then coughs and starts rough, but then regains smoothness after 2 minutes. As for power, it seems to be down on power and does 0-60 mph in about 10 seconds. Overall, there is no sputtering or hesitation when accelerating and it starts up on first attempt each time. I haven't checked fuel pressures but I suspect lack of accumulator would mean lack of overall system pressure when accelerating and thus causing car to be slow. What do you think, sir?

    • @mercedeske
      @mercedeske 10 месяцев назад

      For 300E 0-60mph in about 10 seconds is normal, the car with such an acceleration can not be slow, it must achieve something over 120mph top speed. If the car is sluggish, well Mercedes is not predicted to be a hot rod. With such a performance everything looks like to be in order with the car, although I have no idea how come the car has no fuel accumulator. It's a key component for starting the car warm.

    • @shaazy
      @shaazy 10 месяцев назад

      @@mercedeske It feels more than ready to do 120 mph but I'm mostly in the city and can't do that speed for more than a split second without risking the car. The 10 second 0-60 on a no-kat 300e seems slow, dont you think? Hagerty's website says it could do 7.8 seconds when new, but I'll be happy with 8.5ish. I'll be adding the accumulator to my assembly in 2 days and will report if that makes a difference. This would be an amazing insight on the contribution of the accumulator to the fuel delivery system. I'm excited =D

    In my W201 the fuel pump produces a buzzing noise when it's hot (long drives or hot weather outside). Any information about how to diagnose this? Is it a normal behaviour or is it in bad condition? Thanks, very good videos!

    • @mercedeske
      @mercedeske 2 года назад +1

      Thanks. Just measure the pressures(my next video). You have to get 5.3-5.5 system pressure. If it's less, replace the pump.

    Hello, thanks for the information you provided. from you that the adjusting screw at the fuel outlet of the fuel pressure regulator I would appreciate if you give information about the factory size, how many bars should the m102 gasoline pressure be? thank you so much

    • @mercedeske
      @mercedeske 2 года назад +1

      My pleasure. As for the adjustment screw on the pressure regulator, don't touch it, it won't have any effect. It just alters the pressure of the stalled engine. As for the pressure m102 and 103 work on 5.3-5.5bar system pressure/working pressure for 0.4bar less.

    I am sorry how is the first test done ? You check the fuel accumulator by pressing on the sensor Plate down ? And then what ? Am I checking if it’s stays pressed down or or is it suppose to go back up to know that it’s a good fuel accumulator ?

    • @mercedeske
      @mercedeske Год назад

      The best way is to attach the pressure gauge when the car is warm(of course attach the pressure gauge while the engine is off), start the car, let it run for some 10 sec. and stall the engine. You will have to get the pressure of approx. 3bar and it must remain that much for half an hour.

I have removed tank cleaned it, replaced screen, and pumps and filters, as well as injectors, Plug wires, cap and rotor, it is hisitent in going from standing still thru acceleration, runs great with my foot in her!!

    My apologies for the dumb question but what is the difference between the fuel accumulator and the fuel pressure regulator? Do Mercedes have both? Thank you.

    • @mercedeske
      @mercedeske 2 месяца назад +1

      😉😊👍🏻 Hello. Yes, there is the difference. The fuel pressure regulator is located in the engine bay by the fuel distributor and it has to keep the system pressure constant while the car is on. The fuel accumulator is located next to the fuel filter and has keep the residual pressure(engine off) constant for at least half an hour!

      If you mean the pressure gauge - either the same way like for the M103 engine or unscrew the screw behind the connection for cold start valve in order not to remove it. Concerning the pressure drop - the check valve on the fuel pump, the fuel pressure regulator and some more of them.
