I've been watching his videos for several years now. I'm so surprised by the announcement of his passing. You forgot how fragile our bodies are but I'm glad that he was able to make a career from his true passion. His absence will be definitely missed by both the astrophotography and landscape photography communities. RIP Alyn

Alyn was hoping to fly to Houston and camp with us for the eclipse at Garner State Park. He emailed me last week that his health had taken a serious turn for the worse and that he might not be able to make it. He was still hoping to come, "fingers crossed" he said. We are in shock hearing of his passing. The world has lost an incredible astronomy / photography educator, artist and beautiful human being. His legacy will continue to live on to inspire thousands who love the night sky. Clear skies Alyn.

Tonight I will be using his AW Z and V plates with my move shoot move tracker to hopefully capture the comet. "fingers crossed" Rest in Peace Alyn.
Hey Alyn. I'm truly saddened by the news of your passing. In my last message to you we talked about finally meeting up someday soon to shoot astro together and I'm so sorry that we won't be able to do that here on Earth. I feel like we have all had something precious stolen from us. I'm so grateful to have been a small part of your story, no matter how small it may have been. You once called me a legend but now you're the true legend. I'll miss seeing a part of the world through your eyes. The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very very brightly, Alyn. Rest in Peace. --Ian
hey Ian. Good to see you here. I had a life goal of meeting Alyn and shooting medium format astro with it, which i learnt from you through your channel. My life goal has been robbed from me and no matter how much i try he's not coming back and my mind is still unable to accept it. Alyn was a very big inspiration and his videos have helped me immensely since my depression started. I have just one request from you. When i come to the USA, can i please meet you?
I don’t know why this hurts so much, the only way I knew Alyn was through RUclips and Instagram. He just seemed like such a beautiful person, knowledgeable and down to earth. The way he communicated to his subscribers was very encouraging and helpful. He showed me personally the path forward when it comes to photographing the night sky 🌌 Really hope he gets to continue to photograph the night skies wherever he’s at now. Clearly Alyn is a huge influence and inspiration on a generation of photographers, and his passing has touched so many. Tragic as his passing is, his passion lives on in those he inspired. He was kind, grateful, and humble. Exactly the kind of person the world needs most. He was scheduled to be a speaker at the Nightscaper conference in September, and I was so looking forward to working with and meeting this gentle soul in person. We will miss him, and do our best to honor him at the event. Rest in peace Alyn.
I can't believe the tragic passing news of Alyn Wallace. He was one of the leading legends when it came to astrophotography. When I had a craze for it , I spent hours and hours watching his videos. His videos were such an inspiration for me. The way he travels to different places, camps there with his camera gears, shares stories about his journey all of it was so so amazing. First of all, what? How? Why? I just heard the news and I feel like I've lost a close friend. He made me fall in love with the night sky back in 2022, and played a big role in developing my ability to understand and capture several objects and phenomena occurring throughout the year both in the day and the night sky. I'm just simply shocked about the uncertainty of life, like you make plans for everything in the beginning of the year and then a few months later, suddenly you're gone?! This is such shocking news that someone so young and with such talent, has left us way too early. My wife and I had the pleasure of attending one of Alyn’s workshops in the Breacon Beacons and he was truly such a wonderful gentleman who was not only so impressively talented in his field, but was also so knowledgeable, highly intelligent and so passionate in what he did with such infectious enthusiasm. The evening of the workshop, I mentioned to Alyn that the only constellation my late Mum recognised was Orion’s Belt. The next day, Alyn sent me a photograph he had captured that evening after the workshop ended of Orion’s Belt. Such a kind and thought soul. Alyn … you inspired so many not only to pick up a camera and have a go but to look up to the night sky and expand the world around them. You will be missed by so many not only for your knowledge, expertise, talent and informing us ‘What’s in the Night Sky’ but for the kind, caring, thoughtful and special gentleman you were. Condolences to your family and friends and wishing you clear skies as you shine amongst the stars in the night’s sky 😢
I’m truly devastated and still trying to process this tragic news. I’ve been following Alyn for many years and he was always my go to guy whenever I needed a tutorial. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed his outstanding astro images and the many adventures he has shared with us. I watched his monthly WITNS videos religiously as they were so useful for planning astronomical events, I will miss those dearly. I was lucky enough to be selected by Alyn as third place winner for WITNS in December 2022 with my Mars Lunar occultation image, I won his Lightroom presets, which I still use to this day. I never had the pleasure of meeting Alyn personally but can’t help feeling a deep sense of loss and grief, like losing a close friend. Thank you good Sir, for everything you have given to the photography community, I’ve learned so much from you and will forever miss your passionate and enthusiastic love for the cosmos. Shine bright amongst the stars that you loved so much. Rest easy knowing your legacy will live on and continue to inspire for generations to come.
I've followed your channel for several years; you were not only a wonderful astrophotographer, but also a gifted teacher. It's feels strange when someone's passing affects us so deeply. This one hurts. It's evident from this outpouring of support that you've added immensely to the astrophotography community. Thank you for all your efforts Alyn.
Far too young, but you really seemed to live your best life. Seeing beauty in the awesomeness of space and the galactic universe. And your passion and enthusiasm drew so many of us in. You will be missed. RIP Alyn.
Started watching Alyn when he had less than 300-followers, wrote back to me several times when I asked a question, Absolutely Stunned to hear he’s now left us!! For me he was the best on RUclips to do it, thankfully theres so many of his videos for amateur/pro photographers to learn from..RIP Alyn ❤
I owe so much to Alyn. . His inspiration as a photographer, his style and honesty. I’ve been following for years and learned so much. I am very saddened to hear about his passing. I’d say 80% of what I know about astrophotography is due to him. Will truly miss his inspiration!
Im so truly saddened by Alyn passing. Ive been watching him for the last few years and even got his book. Most of my life, I've ping ponged between several interests in my life that i wanted to pursue but always would come back to my interest in the starts. After hearing about his passing I now know i want to pursue astrophotography. I know it wont be easy but im gonna do everything I can to pursue it. Thank you Alyn for giving us the inspiration. You will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace Alyn. You were an inspiration. You were an amazing Astrophotographer and I have enjoyed watching your videos and viewing you photographs from some time now. Your talents and creativity will be missed.
It's hard for me to believe that Alyn is really gone. I know that he had such a huge impact on myself and countless other astrophotographers and really elevated the whole community. Rest in peace Alyn, thank you for everything.
Like many others here, Alyns' passion for astrophotography was what got me into the hobby. I have watched his videos for a couple of years now and learned so much from him. This is the first time that someone I follow on youtube has sadly passed and I am only realising now that it is very different to reading about the passing of someone famous, it's a different relationship where we all felt like we knew Alyn and it's more like loosing a friend. This is very very sad and my heart goes out to his family and friends.
Nobody (that I have never met in person) has influenced my life as much as Alyn. Thanks to him I fell in love with the night sky, timelapses and Wales. Most of places I've visited in Wales is because I've seen them in his vlogs and/or photos. I'm autistic and timelapses and astrophotography became my special interest (it's like an obsession), I will never stop reading his book, and will always think of him when I see the stars or moon. It may sound ridiculous, but it was easier for me to deal with my fathers death than Alan's. I've been trying to make a tribute video - few minutes edit synced with a song - but I'm struggling to do that, editing is harder when tears blur your vision. Thank you Alan, for inspiration, information, and possibility to follow your photographic journey and learn from your experience.
Alyn, you have left a huge legacy behind. You have inspired millions of photographers around the world. The videos you have created over the years have been amazing. There are no others creators on YT like you. a very humble lad from the valleys who lived an incredible life. There will never be another Astro photographer like you. You are now that bright star in the sky and I'm sure I speak fro many, we will all be looking up at you in the night. RIP and thank you for everything.
Sincere condolences to Alyn's family, friends and astro community. You were a massive inspiration and I could only dream of recreating the quality of your work. Rest in peace my friend among the stars.
Even though he will never read this message he will always be an important photographer for me. When I first started photography his tutorials and explanations always inspired me, I’ve been able to develop my own niche and way of capturing our environment. He is a true example of how borrowed our time is on this Earth, may he live in the stars forever.
I followed Alyn on Twitter, and he was kind and supportive to me and so many others-what a beautiful person and talent he was. Absolutely heartbroken to hear this!! 💔
I am so sorry to hear this sad news and send my condolences to Alyn's loved ones. Alyn's gentle tones, enthusiasm and professional presentation of the subject helped me choose the Sigma Moon Bazooka and 14mm lenses I still use today. He was an inspiration to me and guided me on my own journey into astro photography. Thank you, Alyn.
RIP Alyn. A great talent gone too soon. I highly suggest his Photographing the Night Sky book. IMHO it's THE definitive guide to astrophotography. I've learned so much from the book and this channel, and it's hard to believe he's gone. He seemed like a gentle soul. Clear skies.
Thanks for an amazing ride and the legacy of this page. you will be missed. But rather than morn your loss. I choose to celebrate your contributions to life everywhere. Much Love R.I.P!
RIP Alyn, you were such an inspiration to so many people around the world. The knowledge you have shared will continue to inspire and you will live on through your videos and the images taken by thousands of people around the world.
Truly a giant in the industry. RIP Alyn. You inspired me by a frame in one of your videos. When I final get a chance to capture the photo I will dedicate the photo to you.
I too have been watching Alyn's videos for a couple of years. He makes everything seem so easy, but in reality it is not, well, not for me. After watching another of Alyn's videos on star stackers, and pondering if I'd actually get out of my backyard to take photos, I decided to buy the Nomad from MSM. I'm really keen on the milky way & star trails. I received it and did a test run in my yard in evening before hearing of his passing. Such a devastating loss to the Landscape & Astro Photography community. I've never met him, but watching his videos all the time makes you feel like you knew him & strangely I grieve his loss. I will continue to watch his videos to learn & understand more as my photography journey continues. Thank you Alyn for all that you have done for so many of us. Clear skies. You will be the brightest star amongst them all, looking down on us. RIP.
So sad to hear your passing, you were an inspiration to many (including myself) to go out and enjoy the night sky. Heartbroken that you were only able to live this life so short, but we know that you lived your best with the time that you had. Wherever you are, enjoy the clear skies. RIP
Just read of Alyn's passing. I am shocked and saddened. I have only met Alyn through this channel but was hoping to meet him in Kanab Utah for Nightscapers in September. what a brilliant person we lost. His videos have taught me so much, given me confidence to try things on my own. Alyn, you have touch far more people than you could have ever thought possible. RIP Alyn, I hope you are surfing the stars ever finding new and exciting places to explore. You will be missed.
😢 To the stars Alyn. Thank you for showing us the joy of Astrophotography. Comet NEOWISE was the first comet I saw and photographed thanks to your tutorials. You will be missed.
May you RIP Alyn. You will never be forgotten. As we look up at the night sky we have a new star we will be looking up too. Thank you for inspiring me and many others on our journey into the night sky.
Omg this absolutely breaks my heart to hear of Alyns passing. I have been following him for years. Learned so much from him and admired his work so much! RIP Alyn!
Although I'm new to this channel, I wanted to pay my respects to Alyn and his gift for sharing our beautiful skies with the world. We look up because that's where our dreams reach; ever expanding vastness that knows no end, and keeps the secrets of its beginnings. Thank you, Alyn and condolences to your friends and family.
Truly devastated at the news of Alyn's passing. Hard to believe there won't be a WITNS for April. You will be missed beyond words. Rest easy among the stars that you so loved, Alyn.
This man is one of the few reasons I was able to survive the past few years... one of the few reasons Im able to film the eclipse. I wish we could've met. Clear Skies Alyn. Thank You for everything you taught the world and shared with us.
Im shocked and crying just now.. You was the best astrolover with i knew, Rest In Piace brother, we arent going to forget about You and Your lessons for us.. never..
Did see the announcement on he passing from Alyn on IG and such a shocker as the man was larger than life. The passion for the night sky, the enthusiasm he could bring to his audience, his openness to some of his demons lurking in the dark and most of all, aways ready to help others. My sincere condolences to the Wallace family, Alyn will be truly missed but will live on in our memory (the sky will be darker than usual tonight when I will look up).
I remember Hyakutake. I had heard about the comet, but then forgotten about it. Then one morning I had to get up terribly early to catch a flight. I got out the house, and there it was, spanning about a quarter of the sky, greenish, not very bright, but definitely visible to the naked eye. I will never forget the experience.
I have never met Alyn but like some many people I loved his videos. He inspired me to challenge my self and take up astrophotography I’m so grateful for that. Thank you Alyn
This is shocking news. You will be missed, Alyn. Thank you for your videos, and thank you for helping out a novice like me once a couple years ago. Rest in peace, Alyn! 💙
I’m watching his videos almost since he started and still can’t believe he’s no longer amongst us. - I wished one of the other night-sky photographers becomes the heir of he’s series “What’s up in the sky in {month}?”.
Love you Alyn, thanks for being such a force in such a beautiful community. You will forever be missed and I will personally always be thinking of you as I continue in my astrophotography journey. Rest easy friend.
I never thought that when I watched this video, it would be your last. You've inspired me and many others. You're a master of your craft. Even though your body is gone, your spirit and your memory lives on in everyone you've touched. Thank you for all the beauty you've created. I wish you good luck, and clear skies.
To Alyn, his family and friends I know words can't do much in the wake of loss, but I'd like to thank you all for being involved in his life. Without Alyn I never would have started my passion in photography. His videos nurtured my curiosity and taught me everything I know and that is something I will NEVER forget. Rest easy, mate.
I have been watching his videos since 2022 and till now I saw all of his videos. He is really a talented astrophotographer and a professional astro coach for us. Instead of diagnosed by cancer he kept making videos for us. He will always remain in our hearts. Thanks for everything sir. Rest in Peace 🙏 You will always remain in our hearts 💔
RIP to a legend. Alyn was one of the people that got me into astro and helped me start that journey. You were a great teacher and person. You will be missed
Rip Alyn. I only stumbled upon your channel about a month or so ago and I’ve been watching you loads in preparation for getting out on some night shoots this spring / summer. You were honestly such a talent and your images were spot on. The exact type of image that I would love to get to a level of.

that Dolomite video was one of my favorites, too. Risking a huge fine {5,000 Euros} all to get the shot! Saw the headlights coming up the mountain and ready to grab tent and scramble only to hang in there and who does it turn out to be? 2 beautiful French girls! Hilarious! I said to myself, not only does this guy know his stuff but he's got balls! Horrible loss, RIP, Alyn Wallace

I just started my astrophotography path. I have only recently come across your videos. They have been instrumental in developing my understanding.
Everytime I see a shooting star I will hear your excitement. We are all stardust, RIP brother.
RIP Dude. May you forever sail the stars....
RIP Alyn …you will be my brightest star that shines now🙏🏻
It's hard for me to believe that Alyn is really gone.
RIP Alyn! you made the stars and meteors come alive! sorry I didn't have the chance to tell you in person. I will miss you.
Aloha.
RIP Alyn, you did it right and helped so many learn, you will be forever remembered.
He showed the starts and the skies so well, they wanted him to join them. Rip Alyn, every time we look up, we will remember you.
What a truly inspirational person. You and your work will never be forgotten, those stars will shine that bit brighter now. Rest in peace Alyn.
I just found out today and want to say thank you for everything you contributed to the community Alyn, an incredible talent you will be missed RIP.
You will always be remembered. You are an inspiration to many. RIP
Thanks for making my astrolife bette! You were one of those guys who made me think about space!
Rest in peace brother
RIP Alyn Wallace, you was a inspiration to me and alot of others, you'll be missed
Cant believe he has passed away, you gave out so much passion and knowledge and enthusiasm, we will miss you dearly
Rip Alyn. Your videos will live on and your legacy is among the stars. Every time we use your tutorials, you will be part of the picture
It was a pleasure to share the same era with you Alyn Wallace. RIP.
Alyn, thank you for taking us on incredible journeys into the night sky. I am sure you now have a front-row seat. Rest in peace …
RIP Alyn. I hope the cosmos will embrace you. Godspeed fellow astrophotographer.
I have been watching, learning and inspired by your RUclips videos for many years. Taken far too young. RIP Alym
Love you Alyn, thanks for being such a force in such a beautiful community. You will forever be missed and I will personally always be thinking of you as I continue in my astrophotography journey. Rest easy friend.
RIP Alyn - thank you for all your online content - the best epitaph is all your magnificent work
I never thought that when I watched this video, it would be your last. You've inspired me and many others. You're a master of your craft. Even though your body is gone, your spirit and your memory lives on in everyone you've touched. Thank you for all the beauty you've created. I wish you good luck, and clear skies.
Rest in peace brother. You work has always been an inspiration.

To Alyn, his family and friends
I know words can't do much in the wake of loss, but I'd like to thank you all for being involved in his life.
Rest in Peace 🙏
You will always remain in our hearts 💔

You are a huge inspiration to me beginning my astrophotography journey & I can only pray to become half as talented & passionate as you are.
There will always be a special place in the night sky reserved just for you.
A message you youtube & youtubers, please keep this channel alive forever and let his family reep the rewards of this amazing mans work - in respect to the love and the financial benefits this self-starting gentleman generated for you. This channel is a testament to him.

Sir I want to thank you for your videos. I learned a lot from you over the years. I hope your videos live on for many years so that others may learn and enjoy. Clear skies sir.
Milky Way Photography in the Dolomites - the first video I saw from him. A year later I bought a camera and started shooting astro. Thanks to him, I have many nice memories and I believe there will be more. I will miss these astro vlogs. I hope this channel will remain as a great memory. R.I.P. Alyn
that Dolomite video was one of my favorites, too.
Rest in peace among the stars, Alyn.
Thank you for inspiring so many of us to look up at the nightsky.
Mate i love ur videos u inspired me and taught me how to photograph the Night Sky, ill be forever grateful to u mate, RIP and i hope u r one of the stars in the night sky for us to capture
RIP Alyn, thanks for inspiring me to appreciate the night sky.
Still watching his videos today, those are super helpful, well recorded and edited. This guy was amazing, it still saddens me to know he won't be around.
I just started my astrophotography path. I have only recently come across your videos. They have been instrumental in developing my understanding. It is a deep loss that someone of such great ability and character leaves us so soon. We shall see you in each photo of every DSO, star, aurora and nightscape we take. You truly now have clear skies and are with the stars.
Requiescat in Pacem.
Rest in peace, brother. Thank you for inspiring me and many others to pursue this hobby. You became the bright star that guided our shots.
I’ve never been upset on a passing on someone I’ve never met until now. His guidance on astro topics made my mental health better.
