Blue is just so...conflicting! There's great detail in the top half of the head, the blinking eyes, the texture, but then it's almost like the people who designed it gradually gave up more and more as they progressed downward. I mean, seriously, with all the assets Universal has at their disposal and the best they can do for the feet are half a step above raptor slippers on the end of pajama pants?
I feel like you can’t please these fans anymore with the raptor suits. People don’t like it when the actors legs are exposed, but they also don’t like it when the legs are covered up. It’s literally impossible to fit a person into that leg anatomy which the actor can be comfortable in for an extended period of time. The original Jurassic Park film pulled it off but it was only shot from the waist down, with the performer in a harness on special stilts. Putting a theme park performer in stilts while wearing the extremely heavy raptor contraption on top for an extended period of time walking and moving is completely unrealistic. I’m more than happy with what Universal put out- great vid!

When I first saw Blue at Universal a few months back, it really is breathtaking the size, speed, and fluidity of the suit. You don’t really pay attention to the legs, and even then, it’s what you call “suspension of disbelief” - even though you know it’s not real, isn’t it a lot more fun to take it all in and play along?
i went to a Jurassic Park exhibit and there was a segment just like this. the costume was so bad. you could see the performers legs and they were not covered up by the costume. they wore just black shoes and black tights. but this is so much better omg.
At least shes agressive sometimes. It Really Captures Blues Actually Personality. And she roars and random people like normal Dinos. I think they should work on the feet, tho..
I think its great but the actual name for this animal is Deinonychus which belonged to the Dromaeosaurid family. Velociraptors which belonged to the same family were usually 6 feet and no more than 100 pounds. I guess that thought that raptor sounded cooler though.
Despite the fact it’s obviously a dude sweating to death in a suit. When I was younger I thought this was legit, and even now it still looks pretty convincing.
Is the Triceratops a quadsuit or more of a "party horse costume" arrangement, with two performers? The Toothless quadsuit was very impressive, but the head on the triceratops looks REALLY heavy for just one person!
i see quite a few ppl talking abt how “bad” blues feet are and no one speaking a word about juliet when she looks absolutely fantastic lol you guys complaining about blues feet and tights is like complaining about mickey and minnies black bodysuit they wear under the costume like some pretty terrible takes in this comment section lol you guys wanted a real actual dinosaur walking around??? these are costumes!!!!! they all have humans in them no matter what! lol you ppl are weird!
