6d for a carton of milk 😂I was born in '59 and I remember our dad moaning about a carton of milk going up to 7d😂
I was born in 1956, we had milk bottles back in the day, so much of my memory has been erased.
Such formality back then, even the schoolgirls in hats and gloves whilest those working are in suits with hats etc
Their dress only seems formal to us because the rules have changed. Now jeans, T-shirt, trainers and baseball cap have become the norm, but after another 50 years they will look as strange as frock coats and periwigs do now.
2024 and cash was no longer king, unless I wanted to pay at my local laundry.
How many women today speak with a cut-glass accent? Not a lot.
Interesting topic!
