Homeowners usually bring these situations on themselves, by going with the cheap guy and also not wanting to pay for all the problems to be fixed properly.

OMG. Again, I feel so, so much better about our house now.
My wife and I were talking just tonight about how much of our recent budget on renovations went to "infrastructure" items - including 3 rat slabs and a ceiling and floor tear out/rebuild to kick out the renters (mice). I painted/sealed the joists, closed the access points and now have Blink motion cameras in all three locations - plus two A24 traps and cameras outside - and I am starting a water trap campaign to knock down the local population beyond (house is in the forest). They are not coming back. Ever.
Whoever owns that house - God help them. =)

Contractor only in trouble if you can find him. I bet he's 3 states away by now.

@autobug2 I found out the contractor told him it was all fixed. Homeowner is still on his tail. Pretty bad deal.

A judge would most likely say the original contractor is liabel. MY opinion is to get somebody new & have THEM do the work. Reason being most guys would want to show off & go the extra mile just to make the competition look bad. Like i say tho, to sue the 1st guy & make him pay the bill for the 2nd guy probably wouldnt go that way by the judge. If a job is worth doing, its worth doing it right...THE FIRST TIME. The owner shouldve checked themself, or have a trusted person do it for him. Also, some areas require a permit for such work. In such cases, an inspector would be on board to check things out. 🙏❤😡

The good contractors get undercut on price by the ones who hire illegal workers who have as much respect for building codes and best practices as they do for our immigration laws. I got out of the business after 35 years it just wasn't worth it any more, you have to bid jobs so low you'd make as much working at McDonald's. Now i make much more money working at an etailer.

Thanks for watching. The homeowner contracted for all floor joists to be repaired before new flooring.

Why bother sealing up that crawl space with the moisture barrier when the floor structure is going to fail? 🤔

The crawlspace was nice. Wood members, not so. Thanks for watching.

Wow I’d be calling the contractor and just saying what the flip guy?? This is absolutely unacceptable! I need you to ether fix these issues or give me my money back 🙄 this is ridiculous

Is your company hiring helpers or apprentices in the southeast?
This stuff seems so interesting to me and it’s motivating to see *attention to detail* put to use!
You spot key elements in drainage, water lines, electrical, hvac and floor joist/framing like a hawk 🙌🏽📐
