Hey Gary, those yarns are really nice. I hope you don’t get charged for customs as I always am… my 2024 resolution was to buy local or at least Canadian to save these fees as they do add up. I go to the USA quite often so I will buy when I am there and bring it back as the customs is more lenient this way.
I agree with you Kevin on the local (Canadian) yarn shopping. Sometimes I need to make that exception though, because I'm so drawn to a collection (or two... or three...LOL!)

It was expensive but oh the beauty of that yarn is something else! You need to come to Montreal and stock up on chestnut jam and beautiful yarns, I will show you around with pleasure!

Great that you had a snow day. It isn't great to drive in the snow. We are suppose to get about 6 to 8 inches for the next 3 days. You got some very pretty colors in yarn. I love the party yarn. I have some I an hoarding because they were gone. Glad they came back.

Hi Janet - I'd give the Party yarn a try and see if it splits for you. I have a sneaking suspicion, it's how I hold the yarn when I'm working with it. We all have different methods, so I would give it a try. The colours are so lovely.
Oh look!!! You guys got snow too. They said it was gonna rain last night. They said it would wash away the snow accumulation. I was kind of slow to see this video but I am so glad I did! I’m loving that Big Twist yarn, I know it’s similar to Puzzle but the colors are better in my opinion and it makes me think of Red Heart Gemstone! I really love Gemstone and wish they still had it! 💗🧶
Hi Gary, we had snow a couple on days ago, in Lancashire, England, maybe an inch, tops, lol. Nothing when I went to bed, threw back the curtains next morning and low and behold, everywhere was white, we had rain late that night and then it dropped to -6c, overnight. I'm sure you can imagine the wonderful skating rinks we have been left with. I certainly wont be going out until it clears, wheelchairs and ice do not go well together, lol. Joann has stopped international sales now, they only do US and Canada, probably because they were too expensive and most of us only bought when they had a sale on. I had put some big twist in my basket last weekend and when I went to check it out, my account had disappeared and it said they has ceased international sales. We were charged taxes before checkout and we never had to pay anything at this end, that is probably what has happened at your end, you shouldn't get a bill from anyone now. Loved your yarn story, it does help to have a good imagination, sometimes, lol. Keep warm and stay safe xx

Yes, a little chilly here, but no snow. My grandson and his gf cooked me a pork roast and green beans and mashed potatoes for my birthday on Sunday. I sat inside by the fireplace in the sunroom and crocheted.
Shes loving the snow!!!! ❤ Its24 degrees in NYC! BRING ON SPRING! Working on scarf rn n finished the hat from Crystals channel. Front post double crochets. Yes it's nice that Joannes puts it in a plastic bag but sometimes they put different ones in the bag that I wanted to keep together so I have to re-bag them but they sent their shipments -in multiple shipments and it just drives me crazy by trying to receive them all to keep myself alert to them when they are coming
It’s a good thing that you got your yarn because they just posted on Joanne’s page this morning that they will no longer be shipping out of the country because the shipping has gotten too expensive; so no more shipping to Canada or outside of the U.S. 😔😭

Perhaps it was the sale price that help clear the Carousel yarn. If it's like the Party yarn that went away and then came back - then you'll have to grab it next time round.

It seems like Joann's has a sale daily! Do you have their app? I got the party yarn too but I can't remember what I had in mind to make! That happens often! My sister in law's sister went to college from the states to Canada. She lived in Regina. They would have days off when the temperatures were brutal. I used to pay attention when she was there. Boy those minus degrees were crazy! She lives in Oregon now. She married a Canadian and eventually moved back.

My yarn has never been in bags from Joann's...nice that they do for you for such a long journey 😊
Good to know that Joann sometimes doesn't use plastic sleeves to put their yarn in. I was lucky to have it on this occasion.

Hi Janet - I'd give the Party yarn a try and see if it splits for you. I have a sneaking suspicion, it's how I hold the yarn when I'm working with it. We all have different methods, so I would give it a try. The colours are so lovely.

I was kind of slow to see this video but I am so glad I did! I’m loving that Big Twist yarn, I know it’s similar to Puzzle but the colors are better in my opinion and it makes me think of Red Heart Gemstone! I really love Gemstone and wish they still had it! 💗🧶

Hi Gary, we had snow a couple on days ago, in Lancashire, England, maybe an inch, tops, lol. Nothing when I went to bed, threw back the curtains next morning and low and behold, everywhere was white, we had rain late that night and then it dropped to -6c, overnight. I'm sure you can imagine the wonderful skating rinks we have been left with. I certainly wont be going out until it clears, wheelchairs and ice do not go well together, lol.
Joann has stopped international sales now, they only do US and Canada, probably because they were too expensive and most of us only bought when they had a sale on. I had put some big twist in my basket last weekend and when I went to check it out, my account had disappeared and it said they has ceased international sales. We were charged taxes before checkout and we never had to pay anything at this end, that is probably what has happened at your end, you shouldn't get a bill from anyone now.
Loved your yarn story, it does help to have a good imagination, sometimes, lol. Keep warm and stay safe xx

Hello Mr. PercyKnits - I know what you mean about yarns that return after some time goes by. We go on these mad chases for them because they're limited and then only to find out they get restocked a few seasons later. The Big Twist Fleck sounds interesting. I'm going to take a look.

Yes, a little chilly here, but no snow. My grandson and his gf cooked me a pork roast and green beans and mashed potatoes for my birthday on Sunday. I sat inside by the fireplace in the sunroom and crocheted.

Shes loving the snow!!!! ❤ Its24 degrees in NYC! BRING ON SPRING! Working on scarf rn n finished the hat from Crystals channel. Front post double crochets. Yes it's nice that Joannes puts it in a plastic bag but sometimes they put different ones in the bag that I wanted to keep together so I have to re-bag them but they sent their shipments -in multiple shipments and it just drives me crazy by trying to receive them all to keep myself alert to them when they are coming

It’s a good thing that you got your yarn because they just posted on Joanne’s page this morning that they will no longer be shipping out of the country because the shipping has gotten too expensive; so no more shipping to Canada or outside of the U.S. 😔😭
I was fortunate to get this order in before the switch. Good to learn JoAnn won't be shipped into Canada any longer.

Perhaps it was the sale price that help clear the Carousel yarn. If it's like the Party yarn that went away and then came back - then you'll have to grab it next time round.
Very pretty, thanks so much for sharing. I love all of those colors. 😊 I have some of the party yarn from last year and haven't used it yet. I plan to make a tunisian chevron blanket with a mix of those colors. I don't have the spiced wine color it is new. I love that color in the Carousel yarn. 😊

It seems like Joann's has a sale daily! Do you have their app? I got the party yarn too but I can't remember what I had in mind to make! That happens often! My sister in law's sister went to college from the states to Canada. She lived in Regina. They would have days off when the temperatures were brutal. I used to pay attention when she was there. Boy those minus degrees were crazy! She lives in Oregon now. She married a Canadian and eventually moved back.
