  • The European Rock Pipit (Anthus petrosus) is a small passerine bird that breeds primarily along rocky coastlines in northern and western Europe, especially in countries like the UK, Norway, and Iceland. Its breeding habitat includes cliffs, rocky shores, and islands where it nests in crevices or under rocks.
During the winter, many rock pipits migrate to more temperate regions, moving southwards to the coasts of western Europe, including France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Some populations are sedentary, while others undertake short migratory journeys along the coastlines.
