Perhaps the most polished game in the Touge Max series. Even though its car and track rosters aren't as diverse as its predecessor (Touge Max 2), the game has a solid package, even better with licensed cars and better story mode which had branching paths depending on your choice in a particular race. Not to mention there are two unlockable motorcycles as well, also the tuned Toyota Starlet! Also worth noting: South Bridge's song intro samples Methods of Mayhem: Industrial Toolkit as well!
When Persona 5 R was teased, while everyone was joking it was P5 Racing, I honestly thought of the Touge series being revived by Atlus. The story elements of the the first two games in the Touge Max series were entertaining and advanced visual novels that would be perfect for a Persona or SMT spin-off.
That would be great. Imagine Persona's narrative, coupled with racing. Not to dissimilar to Racing Lagoon, but with good handling. Don't think current Atlus could pull it off though tbh. They might nail the story path, but I don't see them making good arcade racing game physics. Cave, the dev of this game is now pretty much a niche bullet hell game dev now, and I don't see them coming back to any other genre sooner or later.
I remember a discussion some time ago in a big videogames forum about what console had a better racing games library, the options being PlayStation and Nintendo64 I chuckled reading the responeses saying that it was the N64, for every good racer in that console there are at least 10 better games in Ps1, just like in every other genre like platforming, rpg or action adventure PS1, the GOAT
The Touge Max G a special full gameplay moments. Any race for more than enough. Good vehicle for the Toyota AE 86 to race and many more. Well then enjoy your weekend.
Yes. Level B is Middle class cars like RX-7 FC3S, Nissan 180SX & Silvia both S13 & S14, etc. Level C is High Power cars like RX-7 FD3S, Honda NSX, Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32, R33, R34), Toyota Supra RZ (JZA80), etc.

Starlet (KP63) is also available in Touge MAX 2.

Imagine personas as cars. Or car parts.
The engine sounds are better than in NFSU1 lol
Also, this game have quite good replays and even you could see the drivers inside the cars, the interior and etc... witch was rare on PS1 games.
@@Drift4Drifters Its due of the fact that this game was released in 2000.
@@Victor_2000s Touge Max 2 is from 1998 and had this feature too, by the way.
@@Victor_2000s you sure? the very first nfs game from 1994 has a cockpit cam
@@yod7934 The first NFS doesn't had a 3D modeled interior in the third person cam, that is i am mean.

PS1, the GOAT
Agreed. Even though rush and world driver championship were very entertaining.
ps1 is up there but ps2 had some of the best racing games
Better than PS1, i guess only the PS2, actually.
@@Drift4Drifters Yeah, its reallly close, I actuallly cant decide which one had a better library but the Ps2 wins since it had backwards compatibility
Mr. XTG you are the best at racing games like for real
Awesome driving skills
What a kick ass racing game for the PSX

@@junglerider165 is there a game on the PS2?
for game like this in ps 2 maybe battle gear series and kaido battle
@@user-sv7ge5lz7l the sequel Touge 3 is on PS2
This game is like VN
But don't worry... No bad endings in this game
Touge MAX G Story Mode has branches Heat/Chapter stories so the ending story is 100% depending on your choice & your race result in that mode.
I just cant play this game properly. Dont understand what to do to lose grip and mantain the drifts.
Dont know why, but Touge Max 2 was more predictable on driving...
Have alot of car you never show up,which is Level B and Level C
