In lookup transformation we have lookup into target table so that it will compare whether data present or not in targett if yes it Will reject or i it will insert
i guess max salaries of each dept should have been this select dept_name,max(salary) from Employee group by dept_name and the top 3 salaries should have been select dept_name, salary, dense_rank() over (partition by dept_name order by salary desc) rank from Employee where rank between 1 and 3
I understand he is struggling to give answers and is messing up very basic questions , but the girl taking the interview is very unprofessional , you can’t get irritated at the person or anything..she is clearly not happy with the answers he is giving

we will go for Id , if ID is not present in target , that record should be inserted , and if present with any changes , then it will get updated
