This is coming from someone who's never played a MK game, but judging by MK 11, here's a few tips. Don't get backed into a corner, because if you do, the opponent is gonna have fun making sure you don't leave. If you're backed into a corner, get you someone who's good at combos like Kabal. You can access your Fatal Blow when you have low health, but it takes a while to recharge. Plus, it's not gonna kill your opponent all the way unless they have low health too. There are certain items on the battlefield against your opponent, and some of them can help you get in crushing blows. Study each character, because that way, you'll know their strengths and weaknesses. These are the best tips I can give. 🤷🏾♀️
Just practice, learn what a safe string is,learn to punish, learn what an overhead and low attack is and you are done! Just look up the move sets while a characters chapter has started, but if you are not willing to learn by loosing never try online.

I feel like some fatalities were so rushed by the dev's while others are so well done. We have good fatalities like Kabal's, Baraka's, Scorpion 2nd and Jade 's 1st. While we have some lame ones like Scorpion's with the chain, both of Skarlet's Jade 2nd (I mean since when her staff cuts like blades?) Either way I also feel like they cut some fatalities to announce the winner like on Kabal's 1st fatality, he's just there holding the hook sword while Scorps body is being cut on half, you don't get to see his body falling on the floor and Kabal doing like another pose or a winning pose, the same happens with Scorpion's chain fatality, I don't know they are good but it feels weird to me.
