The Orchestra, the piano, the choir, the great conductor and the lights make this a most exquisite performance. Thank you ! 🌷🌷🌷 (Holland)

Thank you so much! This is an absolutely fantastic performance. This is what the work has been waiting for. He really brought it to its full potential. Most of the other live performances on youtube pale in comparison. BRAVO!

A wonderful performance! And the pianist plays so sensitively too.

Spectacular, in every respect. First of all, Mr. Jurovski offers the cleanest and least diffuse interpretation of the piece I've heard - perhaps a comparison could be made to the Boulez supposedly controversial (it isn't) interpretation of Debussy's La Mer. The various tempo changes and motivic variants seem to come from a very well ordered musical mind, notwithstanding the ridicule Scriabin gets for his delusions of grandeur. Second, there clearly was a lot of consideration of color, both as to the lighting execution and to the orchestration, which for once came through with an almost Brahmsian clarity. Third, I've never heard the dynamics so carefully controlled, e.g., 21:20 where the climax just beforehand was not an excuse to play louder than the markings until the remainder of the piece. Fourth, the camera work was intelligent and only occasionally relied on effects (like the combination of close-up and dissolve at 16:15). Fifth, the solo piano part is somewhat thankless, requiring a lot of detail but precious little in the way of virtuosic display, and Mr. Volodin was splendid. MANY thanks for posting this, and could I ask which orchestra is to be commended?

Wonderful group... rich Russian colors, which you really can only get there.

So, do the light changes represent the "Luce" part that Scriabin wrote for in this piece?

I love this music and this is definitely one of its best recorded performances. But why does it say 18+ in the upper right corner? I kept waiting for nude dancers! 😜

In Russia, classical music concerts were recommended by age. "Возрастная категория".

мне кажется, очень интересное исполнение: Юровский выпячивает акценты (во всяком случае, больше, чем я привык слышать), и это идёт произведению на пользу.

Слишком сложная музыка для школьников. Лучше что-то легче из классики давать

Scriabin could write a bitching soundtrack to Alien. Not that Goldsmith did poorly, but still.
