Both Stolas and Millie had their voice actors changed. Millie has a country accent because she's a country woman (This will be expanded upon in a future episode).
Actually, the reason Millie's voice changed because both she and Luna shared the same va so they a compromise. Meanwhile Stolas original va from the pilot has some allegations behind the scenes so they hired a new VA.

The VA for Millie was already hired but was in the middle of another project and couldn't make the pilot.

Fun Fact:
Bryce Pinkham (VA for Stolas) was instructed to just keep saying random nonsense after his phone call with Blitzo. If you noticed, that's why when Moxxie goes back you can hear Stolas still talking on the phone, about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, probably dirty talk alluding that he's the peanut butter to Blitzo's jelly.

Moxxie's VA is still the same (Richard Horvitz) however both Stolas and Millie (now Vivian Nixon) have changed, in Millie's case is to lighten the weight on her VA (Erica Lindback), since in the pilot she voiced both Millie and Loona.
This series is hilarious, unhinged and can even hit you in the feelings. I think you're gonna love episode 2... NOW WITH MORE HORNY OWLS!

Trivia: Mara Wilson is Ben Shapiro's maternal cousin... You can tell that she, unlike him, is a decent human being because she's NOT a fan of his work, refuses to talk with him, considers him a part of her family that she has cut off from her life and is a progressive leftist instead of an alt-right neo-nazi ally like him.
The pilot while most commonly the first episode of the first season of a series is not always the first episode. A pilot is the video made to pitch the concept to a studio, it the usually ends up being re-shot with a higher budget and used as episode 1. Thats why you see some series put out the original pilot episode as episode 0 on dvd or something like that and it turns out to be a lower quality version of the first episode.
I've always called pilots episode 0.

If you re-watch this episode you'll notice a lot of background details when you first see the family sitting around the table

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 The first few episodes are choke-full of background details. You caught the background billboard ad, that's a callback to the pilot's beginning where they are having a meeting about buziness and how to improve the biz. Blitzo seems eager for a billboard, but Moxie says they don't have the money for it. And here we see the people who made the billboard fleeced Blitzo for as much money they could.
I strongly suggest rewatching this episode. There are clues to the family's nature before Moxie wakes up at that table of horrors, even as early as that "She's not a hero!" montage (look at the wallpaper in Martha's bedroom).
Most people mention the dinner table scene right before Blitzo shoots. I've seen a lot people mention the lamp and such. Fewer mention what's mounted on the wall behind the husband's head and even fewer mention the fridge. Granted, the later is harder to see than the former. You need to go to scene where MArtha is throwing her glass down and pause (I suggest slowing down the play speed for this) where you can see the fridge.
If you thought Loona is a great character, I have a sneaking suspicion you guys will fall in love with a certain Owl demon lord in the next one.
Not sure if you guys picked up on it, but it very much seems like morality is flipped on Earth and Hell. Humans pretend to be moral, but act horrendously, while Hell folk don't pretend to be moral, at all, but end up sort of acting more moral. Not sure if this is an actual thing, but it sure does feel like it to me. Just think of Moxxie's innocence and... oh, right... you haven't met Charlie yet from the main series.
We haven’t picked up on that theme yet. I mean the demons are going out and killing people haha 😜
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 I didn't really mean that neither Earth, or Hell was actually being moral, just how they portray themselves.
There's no pretense of morality in Hell, but yet Moxxie is still quite so innocent with genuine concerns for ethics. It's the opposite on Earth where people pretend to be moral, but still act largely the same as the denizens of Hell.
yea Helluva boss has a pretty good storyline because they're all connected. Moxxie, Milly, Loona and Blitz are my favourite main characters.

As far as pilots go, its pretty normal to have it be separate from episode 1. The pilot is what is used to sell the show to the network, and then if they think its good enough they will air it as episode 1. If not, then they won't.
Love seein you guys enjoy this series. Shows that aren’t so scared of going a bit far in the dark humor spectrum are underrated af.😂

So one of the reasons why this has legitimately become one of if not my favorite show ever is because I find that most shows try to get you to relate to one character and that most often being the main character, in this I find myself relating and finding familiar traits in all of the IMP members, Without going to much into spoilers even just small things like Loona being a bit of a goth, millie being a very positive character, Blitz being a bit crass and the best example in this episode being Moxxie's reaction right before going into the portal being a very annoyed kinda "Ah fuck" , I feel like the way he says it pretty much almost anyone can relate too. But yeah there is a reason why I have grown such a deep fondness for this show, I really can't wait to see you react to episode 2 which is probably my 2nd favorite episode of this season so far.
Also just a small little side note, I have seen so many people reacting to this episode and I have never seen anyone mention or react to the fact that there is a kid in the classroom in the begining that just goes straight to the corner with a dunce cap, and just the fact that they make it seem like its like a daily occurence and has become a habit for him makes me laugh more than I probably should

When I watched episode 1, I was blown away at how the animation looks so amazing and beautiful it cause a tear, and I wasn’t ready for the much adultry it brought 🤣 with that said, only Millie and Stolas had a voice change out there. I can’t wait for you both to hear big stars voices coming in future episodes. Also keep a eye out at end credits scenes. As some are “In Memory of” to some people the community lost during the making of this series.

Great to see you guys back with this hell of a pearl of animates series.
It is impossible to mention all the little details, easter eggs and foreshadowing in this episode. But i like to mention, that Stolas dirty talk was still going on when Martha catched Blitz and even when Moxxie runs back to the house 😅 But Stolas can do way more than that. He has a pretty high rank in Hell's hiearhcy.
When i first saw this.. rekonize the spine-bone lamp in the back, also the human arm, that comes out of the fridge..and when they got the guns out.. "Oh no.. they are from Texas" No offense.
And how the people celebrate Martha as a hero, because she "just" survived somthing (might terrible) but she was even more terrible in the end.. that also shows quite hard how we deal with social media and that what you "represent" is much more important than what you really are... there's a lot of social criticism behind this.
It is a good counterpart to Moxxies hesitation in the first place. Bethany got what i ment :)
Yeah social media is all about presenting the best of our lives and everyone is so glamorous and beautiful but that’s not real life. It’s like reality tv on steroids now with social media. ☹️
Yeah, it's sort of like how people started glorifying George Floyd when he died. Yes it was terrible and I definitely consider that cop a murderer, but George Floyd is almost the farthest thing from a hero. Heroes don't point a gun at a pregnant woman's stomach and threaten to shoot her while robbing her house.
If someday i get to be in the situation of a angry customer, i'll instantly smash all the buttons near me increasing the speed by every "baddy word" she/he shouts at my inoffensive careto
this series gets better and better. you will laugh, you will cry and will go awww. its a helluva roller coaster of emotions.

It's the same Moxxie. They changed voice actresses for Millie because the same actress did Millie and Loona in the piot and Vivziepop wanted different actresses for the series. Also, you get a Loona-centric episode in Episode 3.

I'm with you Bethany. On the whole pilot thing. But pilot is like an introduction. Or a testing of a show to see if it will be successful or not. Therefore they just throw it out for testing. As you know making a really good series is usually expensive.
Anyway. I never expected it to be so soon. And i'm glad it is. I was looking forward to it👍

Think of it like Star Trek ToS. The pilot was a proof of concept that was mostly declared non-cannon and contradicted by things in later episodes. (EG: Blitzo's dad and love of musical theatre were cut out after the pilot)

The VA for Mrs Mayberry is the same actress that played Matilda in the movie years ago.
Also, a pilot can be ep1, ep 0, or a non-canonical proof of concept to get a show greenlit.

You're the first people I saw point out Moxxie's change! I think its interesting because he still IS very judgmental and critical but his voice is shifted much softer into more of a nerdy theater kid. I think it plays very much in his favor as coming off as the "straight man" / "every-man" meant to balance out our main character Blitzø's unhinged nature lol.
I do love Millie's new voice, but its interesting to think how her old voice would have impacted how we see her character. She feels far more sharp & ready for violence with her new VA. Personally I wonder if it would have highlighted more of her super supportive & nurturing attitude she gives Blitzø & Moxx, where as a lot of people focus instead on her only being supportive of Moxxie and some complain it means her personality is "Moxxie's Wife" when I think its more supposed to be that she is very supportive of both of the boys (and kinda lowkey unfriendly /a bit racist to Loona ^^;)

I'm not sure how much you know about Hell's mechanics in this show, but if you haven't looked into stuff like that ahead of episode 2, you might be asking something like: "I thought Hell had a red sky! Why is the sky green?"
We figured this world will have its own rules for things. We generally don’t get too hung up on that kind of stuff until we get heavily invested and start rewatching things 🤗

The foundationstone for a great series. Because down in the comments, our community already mention it, there were a lot of changes. Not just the voice actors. Erica Lindbeck voices Millie AND Loona in the Pilot episode ^^ Even i didn't hear that by first time watching this.
Also a very important funfact: Blitz love horses. 🥰 Before he called Loona, he put out a little toy horsie and smiled stupid :P

Happy to see someone jumping into the crazy Hell that is Helluva Boss. One bit of advice is on a second viewing keep an eye on the background, the crew is always hidden little jokes and details in the background. Like the billboard you guys noticed or before the family was revealed to be insane cannibals you can see the lamppost is a spine and hipbones and the head of a kid hung in the back like a trophy. It makes the second viewing more interesting to see what else was hinted at.

Something oyu should keep an eye out on is that most of the episodes this season have guest star voice actors. This one is is the voice of the teacher, Mara Wilson, who may famously know as the little girl named Matilda, from the movie of the same name. See if oyu can spot any other famous voice actors in upcoming episodes.
Oh we are going to be terrible at that haha. Can barely spot a celebrity when we see them outside in person in real life let alone just their voice 😂🤗

The pilot of a show is the 'proof of concept' used to get support for that show to air. Sometimes that same episode is also the first episode to air when the show goes live. However in most cases, including Helluva Boss, the pilot is separated from the show airing its first season by a long stretch of time (about a year in this case, several years in others) and so remains separate and is sometimes not included in the show's lore at all.

Pilot episodes are actually moreso like a pitch episode, not the first episode. Examples would include Avatar: The Last Airbender, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Robot Jones, Sheep in the Big City, Steven Universe, and Gravity falls; Pilot episodes are made to give a premise or idea as to what the show is about to sell to production companies and, more importantly, audiences, allowing to gauge whether or not it's a show people would actually want to watch. If a pilot does well, the show gets greenlit for syndication; poorly, it will likely never see an episode 1.
A small little detail that gets very minor nods is Blitzo's obsession with horses. I'm pretty sure there's a scene with him having or being near something horse related in each episode, like that tiny figurine he pulled from his coat before grabbing his second phone.

Technically the pilot is episode 0 because it decides if a series gets green lighted or not, that's just my opinion on the matter.
At first i was like "hell no" with the voice change due to at that time having a D-rank skill level in english. But know i feel the gratitude towards them 'cos now im a fan of the variety of accents they have there xF

Blitzo is actually Pan, Moxxie is Bi, Millie hasn't been confirmed but in a later episode she openly asks about sex with a female pop star so possibly Bi as well, and Loona is also unconfirmed but as of episode 7 has only shown interest in males.

In Episode 2, Blitzo worked in a circus in the Greed Ring of Hell, which is ruled by a Prince of Greed named Mammon, who is supposedly a Jester demon. Dis You Know? In Episode 7, one picture in Blitzo's phone at the ending, shows Blitzo and Fizzaroli wearing "circus clothes" when they were both young, meaning that they were aspiring performers.
Also, "youre also kind of explaining a lot of stuff that doesnt need to be explained. let them figure it out on their own"
Bruh... They won't know if they don't figure it out, I'm here to inform and give details and have fun interacting with them, If they know the detail, then good for them, that means that what they thought was true

Another of times they drop characters, replace actors, or change the look or even story a bit after the pilot and there are a few unaired pilots because they basically a test screening so I don't think the count as the first episode.

Sorry B, but as a failed college media drop out, the pilot only represents the "test" episode. Not necessarily ep. 1. You usually present the pilot as something that gives the feel of the show to get a network to take on your show. Now there are times when the pilot serves as the 1st episode, but this isn't always the case. Usually pilots are only used when a creator isn't sure if a show will be "good". Some creators don't deem the pilot as a solid ep. 1 and therefore can create an ep. 1. Would love to (lovingly) fight over it in the comments! Great reaction!~ Love this episode 1 as well. ;)

The pilot isn't episode 1 cause it's not fully canon. Loona doesn't have syphilis and didn't punt a pram.
In my opinion, the Pilot is the product pitch to a studio and does not always end up aired for everyone. Still love watching y'alls reactions to the show! Keep watching more as it gets better and deeper and Blitzø would take this to an uncomfortable place so I am just gonna stop here...

Millie's voice actress changed! She was voiced in the pilot by the same person that voices Loona. But otherwise, the voice actors are the same.
pilot episodes are just test shorts, charicters , story and personality never transfer to the full show, stolas was supost to be the villan in the pilot but in the main show vivian and brendan both changed him to a love intrest, charicters all changed.
