Yeah, gym leaders arrange their pokemon based on the challenger, so the area where you live and start out in won't matter much, and even the last gym leader won't go all out on a challenger.

What? That's not even remotely true. GameFreak was developing a 3D title beginning from HGSS for crying out loud. Gen 6 was being developed for a while. Gen *2* was supposed to be the last generation, but Gen 5 obviously wasn't at all. They pushed the DS to the complete limit before jumping to 3D.
I feel like Silver's theme needs a little less bounce. He's the serious guy with too happy a soundtrack. Maybe if anything, lose the bells, keep the flow going, and make the notes go a little lower.
To this day, I've always felt as hard as they have tried to introduce content after you beat the game, Silver/Gold (HeartGold/SoulSilver) did it best with an entire second area to complete. Be honest, how awesome was it to beat Lance then find out afterwards you get to beat up the entire Kanto region as well.

The Johto games might get a knack for relying way too much on Kanto, but damn, I’d do anything to have this kind of post game content again. Just imagine after clearing whatever the Gen 9 region has to offer and the game just lets you know that you’re now able to travel to either of the 4: Hoenn, Unova, Kalos, or heck even Galar at this point. I’d be more than willing to take that chance again.
Gen 9 region (Pandea) it's based in Spain, so it would be a great idea for the post game to travel to Kalos, which is based in France. Also, it would seem logic, as Spain is under France geographically.

When I first fought the Kanto gym leaders in post-game, I was surprised at how epic this soundtrack was. Like, wow, the composers didn't have to go that hard with the sudden drop at the beginning, but they did and I truly appreciate them for it. I love the intensity and the sudden drop at the beginning. They keep the tension up and gives us a sense of urgency. It's like the gym leaders' way of saying, "Oh, you're the Indigo League champion? *We can go all out, then.* "
i like that they put the soul to soulsilver to match heart gold but well a soul of silver is not something i've ever heard of before and a heart of gold i've seen everywhere
I've never played any Kanto game, so when I heard this music in Soul Silver I was shocked. It sounded way too epic to be a gym leader battle! The music is so addicting.
Knowing a little bit about music theory makes this so much better. The intro builds so much tension because the time is not a 4/4 but a 7/8, which means it's missing a beat (if you don't know what i'm talking about try to count in any part of the song up to 4 and it will go in sync with the song. Now do it in the intro and you'll see what i'm talking about: you can't keep counting up to 4 anymore). Missing a beat creates this cool tension effect, and when it goes to the main melody (and the time goes back to a full 4/4) you can _feel_ the tension disappear
I just realized this myself. It's actually alternating between 4 and 3, making it a fast 7/4 time. And then a few bars of 4, and one bar of 2. Time signatures are very odd sometimes.

A lot of people hate HG/SS and the originals because it feels like dlc of Kanto, which I mean, they’re not entirely wrong lol only 100 new Pokémon, the level gap was weird and so on, but they’re still good games, great games to me. The music is 🔥 though, I don’t think anyone can deny that
What I really love about heart gold and soul silver is the post game afterwards. So much do. You have the different frontiers to finish,battle red,being able to travel to Kanto and battle against all of the gym leaders and collect even more badges, and still having to capture the legendaries and having to finish the national pokedex!
Legit, some of these Gym Leaders were no joke, kind of hard. Especially Misty. I had to PP stall her Quagsire and Starmie by using Water Absorb Mantine, and chipping away with *Hail* . One of the few times in my life I wished I had more grass types.

I loved Kanto Gym Leaders' theme back in FRLG, I thought it was the best theme for gym leaders. Epic and solemn at the same time, you could feel the "serious battle" vibe. Then I heard this.

A lot of people hate HG/SS and the originals because it feels like dlc of Kanto, which I mean, they’re not entirely wrong lol only 100 new Pokémon, the level gap was weird and so on, but they’re still good games, great games to me. The music is 🔥 though, I don’t think anyone can deny that

What I really love about heart gold and soul silver is the post game afterwards. So much do. You have the different frontiers to finish,battle red,being able to travel to Kanto and battle against all of the gym leaders and collect even more badges, and still having to capture the legendaries and having to finish the national pokedex!
Legit, some of these Gym Leaders were no joke, kind of hard.
Especially Misty. I had to PP stall her Quagsire and Starmie by using Water Absorb Mantine, and chipping away with *Hail* .
