In my humble observations, I think why the atmosphere of top clubs like Madrid is considered quite and silent is because the fans are already used to the high of big matches. Other reasons would probably be because it's winter time and fans probably not feeling to be animated as they could be. Or reason number three which is common in big european club, tourists filling up the stand

I believe there is some truth to this...I look forward to coming back for a BIG GAME!!!

I live in Madrid and I go to the Bernabeu occasionally (less than I would like). And I confirm that the Bernabeu is generally less animated than in other stadiums. It's more like going to the theater or the opera. In fact, the fans are quite demanding and if they don't like what they see they usually whistle and let the players know. But one would have to wonder why, with such a demanding and analytical fan base, Real Madrid is the most successful sports team in the world... as a Madrid fan I see other fans cheering like crazy for their team when they are losing by playing poorly and I can't stop think.. what a bunch of losers. Players must know that the public is not going to give them applause, they must earn it, and that no matter who you are and what you have done before, each game is a new test. That extra pressure makes it not easy to play in Madrid, and above all to stay. When the Bernabeu really vibrates and is generous with the players, it is in the great European duels, the comebacks, that is another story...

I’ve never seen a soccer game with that low energy during a gain. Weird.

big clubs things i think. i was at old trafford before the covid and it was the same. Many of the fans are tourist, tickets are expensive. At Sofi Stadium in USA where the Los Angeles Rams play they put crowd noise from the speakers so those big european clubs still have lesson to learn from americans 🤣
