I bought this for the size, articulation and proportions. I don't really care too much about the vehicle mode since I rarely display my figures in that mode anyway. I like this for the classic leader size presence.

Neat! If I still had my vision I would've gladly picked up that challenge to customize it. Sadly that isn't possible anymore. But I have a feeling Takara is going to turn this into one of their special upgrade projects like the 40th anniversary Legacy Leo Prime. It'll probably fill in all those gaps, get LEDs galore,give him more weapons & smoke stacks, and maybe something else for those mysterious peg ports for his back.Oh, and of coarse a real paint job. with possibly a bit of retweaking the engineering a smidge for better posability.
I hope someone weighs this versus the other two. Obviously he's much taller, but I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't much heavier due to the hollowness.
It would made it inaccurate but if they had something else that could be the sides of the truck mode they could have made the arms fold backwards to help fill out the back of the cab

And form what I understand the Leader Takara Tomy exclusive leader class figures are much better if not overpriced. And they're also playthings. The big Cyberverse Ultimate figure had more effort put into it.

I mean, tie-in stuff isn't often meant for collectors. Just look at how "shovelware" exists in the video game space for movies, or how junior novelizations are sometimes just churned out for the sake of getting product on shelves for a specific target demographic. You're not the target audience for these. The boom of the '07 movie and its toyline isn't something Hasbro has (or will ever) experience again. This is primarily because iconography and branding has become so saturated that product exists for the sake of producing product. I agree that there's a difference between "this is meant for young kids" and "this is meant to be crap". But there's a cultural element at play, that being "toys need to be cheap so middle-class parents can buy them when a kid sees it and goes 'i want that now'" and "toys have to compete with tablets and smartphones for entertainment". There's a lot of reasons for the crapification of toys nowadays-- company greed and the desire for infinite growth, socioeconomic factors reducing the size of the middle class and their disposable income, etc.

They have a leader class Optimus that form what I can tell is considered an overall superior figure thou far more expensive and is a different mold.
