    So after watching this video about 5 Times over a few moths, i finally decided that i will do this with my laptop. I did everything just like in this video. And it worked everything just fine. But i was a little disappointed that there was pretty much no dust in my fan. I thought there would be much more, since my laptop is about 6 1/2 years old and the fan was always pretty loud. This is the first time i opened it. So i just cleaned everything and replaced the thermal paste, thanks to another tutorial on youtube. Now the Core Temp is about 10 degrees celsius lower than before and the fan seems to work one stage lower than before. So all in all im satisfied.
    A big thanks goes out for this tutorial.

      The termal paste have about 2-3 years of lifetime so is good to change it every no or than.

      Now, after a few days it's all back to how it was. The fan is always working at a high stage. And the core temperature is always about 55-60 degrees c, without doing anything. I dont understand why.

      @LaptopDisassembly  3 года назад +2

      @@ATB20 if you apply the thermal paste correctly, can be a faulty cooler. Try to power it on half disassembled and check is the pipe heating evenly.

    What a pain in the neck! I want to upgrade my cpu but dang... on my dell its literally 3 screws on the back for the cpu... 4 screws for the HDD, 1 screw for the RAM, love when laptops were easy to take apart and had their own compartments for everything

  • @tylerschannel

    The process is scary and i only wanted to clean the fan so i grabed an ear cotton and some pure alcohol and i gently robed the dust from the whole fan after boting the pc the cpu was alot cooler i guess that was my goal but thank you for providing such free videos it is really appreaciated .

    i cant believe you have to remove so much just to get to the fan and clean it! this is terrible engineering by HP!!

    • @Sorrowdusk
      @Sorrowdusk 5 лет назад +3

      I dunno. Engineering compared to WHAT? Compared to who? Most videos I've seen on such things look kind of like this. Though I too expected to to be simpler. Gives me an appreciation for ol fashion tower cases.

      I agree. I've never cleaned mine. I decided to watch videos to see if I could do it myself. I have this exact same laptop and after seeing this, there's no way I could do it on my own. Way too scared I'll mess things up!

      Look under the battery, sometimes there is an extra screw that is holding the back cover.

    • @LaptopDisassembly
      @LaptopDisassembly  3 года назад +1

      The laptop should have a camera: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03765376
      Open the display bezel and check is there a connector for the camera. If yes, you only need to buy a camera, otherwise you have to replace the cable also.

    Hey man, thanks for doing this, great video.
    I do have one question: I'm currently in the middle of improving my laptop's wireless networking (both speed and range). I also have Probook 450 G1 and few days ago I found out that my current wireless network card only supports 2.4ghz band (I want to replace it with the one that supports 5ghz as well), and also that it has only one antenna (I have only one cable running down the back of my laptop and is connected to Main connector, while the Aux is being unused). I was wondering if you can tell me whether you can read the part number of that secondary Aux antenna (I see you have 2 antennas) to see if it's exactly the same part as the antenna connected to Main. I read on some forums that usually the Main antenna is for WiFi + Bluetooth, and Aux one is for WiFi only to improve the signal, so I want to know whether the difference is only in the way card is using them (while they are exactly the same parts), or they are also physically different.
    Thanks in advance!

    • @LaptopDisassembly
      @LaptopDisassembly  5 лет назад

      I would love to help, but this is a costumers laptop and not my own. The number of cables for the WiFi depend on the model of the laptop. Usually if is only for WiFi they are two for balancing. If the card is with Bluetooth one is for WiFi and one for WiFi and Bluetooth, but the principle is the same. You can add a second cable from any laptop., just stick the second cable to the display hinges... This will increase the signal and make it more stable. Most of the new ones are using one cable just becouse of a budget restrictions... :)

      In that video i disassemble 450 G1 which is intel based platform. In the title i put 455 G1 because the disassembly is the same. Only difference is, that 450 is intel based, and 455 is amd based.. But i will check and write back.
