Hello, I'm Mamen, and I've been hosting children at home for almost 8 years.
My name is Marta, I'm from Warsaw, and I'm 20 years old. I've been in Malaga for a few days now as part of the Erasmus program.
I'm staying with a very nice lady here in Malaga, quite close to the school. It's about a 30-minute walk from the beach, so it's very nice. The lady I live with is just like a very nice and warm grandmother. She cooks wonderfully; all dinners and breakfasts are simply wonderful. She is very kind, and I am very satisfied. Well, she's a really warm and nice woman.
The students either come for full board, which includes breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or they come for half board, which includes breakfast and dinner. For me, it's like they're just another member of my family. I don't treat them like girls who are in my house for a week that I've just met. I treat them as if they were a part of my family. In fact, my husband, who is also here, we sleep together. He also enjoys spending time with the children.
It takes us 30 minutes to walk from home to school, but that's because we go around. We have the option to walk through the beautiful, picturesque area or beach, so it's much more enjoyable.
Language isn't much of a problem either. We understand each other, and if not, we use a translator. But usually, we have something to keep a conversation going.
Yes. I highly recommend it to people who are wondering whether to apply for Erasmus. Especially because it is possible to share a new culture in depth, you can break down the barriers and language boundaries that I personally had. Meet new people, make new relationships, and just have fun with your friends.
Follow us on our social and don't miss anything!
