Fable is a poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson. This is a two stanza poem. The poem is a description of a quarrel between a squirrel and a mountain. The mountain takes pride of it's huge size and makes fun of the squirrel's small size and calls the squirrel "little prig" . But the squirrel replies wisely that it may be small in size but it has its own impotance and talent to coexist in this world.
