No, im coming to your organs. dont be ready. because you cant
yes mr bringus
nuh uh, fuck NordVPN!!!
2:26 its because you didn't use PKcells.
Oh my book sells.
Aww no meyt! Me puksels!
Oh my PKCELL
@Sequence_OchoTranslate to English "Aww no dead! We're dead!"
oh no... my PKCELL
John Bringus showing his age by "discovering" Mr. Driller.
God, I'm old.
Womp womp cry about it dinosaur
and not having seen an old GamePark before... yeesh
@alecjahn I still have my F200 and OG box, 275 MHZ ARM9 in your pocket was very cool, but, I never found it's 'killer app'. It lives in a drawer with some modern constant voltage lithium AA cells.
I remember it was also on the dreamcast
At first I thought he thought he was doing a bit. But...no
8:40 It's scary how close Bringus got to being addicted to Picross.
I had it on my DS. Once I tried one level, the rest of my week was gone.
@ethanpschwartzsame... And I also stumbled across Mario's Picross when was looking for interesting gameboy games. That how another week gone...
Him not knowing what Picross is made me sad.
Peak ADHD. Ya either get into it and time travel … or ya don’t
I am ashamed to admit I have 1,393.8 hours in Picross Touch on my Steam account.
I can't believe Mr. Bringle didn't recognize the GP2X. I used to salivate over this thing back in the early 2000s. They were so cool. There's 2 other models by the same company: The GP32 and XGP. This one seems to be a custom branded version, maybe it was repurposed for something else.
Edit: Joke's on me for commenting before finishing the video, yep that's exactly what it was lol
i had a gp32 at one point lol
@HexZero Nice. I was just barely out of High School and broke af so couldn't really justify it, plus the PSP came out around the same time and just shat on all of these, but man the kid in me still wants one. If I had more money and space I'd definitely have a shelf full of cool gadgets I admired growing up like the GP32, GP2X, XGP, Gizmondo, OQO handheld PCs/UMPCs... so many cool gadgets I coveted back then. Truly was a cool time for tech.
I remember seeing ads in Retro Gamer magazine for these here in the UK
Imagine traveling back in time and showing a kid the steamdeck.
@HexZeroI still have mine 😊
5:54 the DISRESPECT??????? TO MR DRILLER??????
HERESY
I'm legitimately shocked that he's not heard of Mr Driller, am I really that old?
@GeneralBison Considering he's 28, it probably is just an obscure game, never heard of it either
@obsidiancloroxI'm 23 and i do know about Mr. Driller (Drill Land on GC is my favorite).
Bro probably never had a handheld in his youth.
@obsidianclorox it's not a super well-known franchise, but it's in no way obscure. There's 13 games in the franchise and it's had entries on pretty much every platform out there. In fact, a few years ago the Gamecube entry Mr Driller Drill Land was remastered and ported to the PS4, PS5, Xbone, Series X|S, Switch and PC.
No way he called Golden Sun "Binding of Isaac"
To be fair, the only text on the screen he could actually read was the name of the character, "Issac" so he only had so much to go off of in terms of jokes.
Was looking for this. Love that game.
damn editor flexing with that track and light shift at 0:11
I didn't even notice at first it's that seamless
Right?? It’s so damn good!
they made it track the edges of the screen and just made it like 25% transparent
@Orbit-QVRit still looks good, so he done a good job.
What?
0:44
Mini USB ❌
Mini RSB ✅ (Rusty Serial Bus)
1:28 MicroSD was standardized in 2005, but hardly anyone was using it yet in 08 because the state of miniaturization at the time limited them to like
And prior to the adoption as microSD, they were known as "TransFlash" cards for about a year.
@PenanceArkanaAnd tons of devices still say TF next to the Micro SD slot to this day.
Full size SD cards are still infinitely preferable if you need/want to swap them out regularly.
8:48 That's a nonogram puzzle, they're also the main part of Nintendo's Picross games
Also a Chinese version of Golden Sun
With horrible frame rate
@bagingospringo4396 Do you need 300 fps on a 2008 Chinese/Korean handheld to play what? competitive Nonogram?
you're telling me you've never seen a picross before ever in your life?
It makes me so sad
literally the 2nd time ive ever seen one, and im 40.
I still dont understand how it works.
@wolfguy423its also known as nonogram puzzles
Lets be real. Bringus is gen Z and Mr Driller was last popular on the NDS.
@GuyManley Mr. Driller is not a Picross, so that's irrelevant.
There's something fascinating to me about Bringus having exactly enough gaming familiarity that he's in as deep as he is but he didn't recognize picross.
10:27 not a gnelf, not a gnoblin, its a gnuboy
Gaining a battery bar after being on for 5 minutes is a terrifying omen
Is that because identifying battery capacity of cells is inaccurate? I think I remember once hearing it has to be estimated based off voltage received, since that fluctuates with charge?
I think its a calibration thing?
I recell Sony AIBO batteries and as they get old they stop showing up right on the charger.
Then when I recell them, the first few charges it can be wonky but then after a few full cycles it's fine
Most batteries do indeed measure their charge level based on the voltage of the battery.
Sometimes batteries end up with only a "surface charge" where they still measure a voltage and can be "charged" but they can't really support any significant load, and the voltage can fluctuate pretty hard. Attempting to charge a battery in that condition may show up as a battery that charges suspiciously fast but usually doesn't actually power whatever it's connected to, and the attempt drains what little capacity they have and therefore immediately start charging again if you try.
Gaining battery capacity during usage can also be a sign of the charge controller not being properly calibrated, which can usually be solved by draining the battery and then fully charging.
@jeffs1571I don't think those double screams were rechargables
They estimate based on battery voltage, but voltage changes depending on both state of charge and load on the batteries so it can be super innacurate moment to moment.
The reason modern devices have accurate battery life is because they measure the amount of energy used, and know how much energy the battery has total, which allows it to know the actual state of charge at all times regardless of system load.
8:56 picross
Most popular is the Mario variant
@asrieldreemurr8059 I personally like the Android System Variant.
Around since at least the SNES
Nonagram
i love niche handhelds
edit: i hate weird face buttons
Go learn about Picross and come back 3 hours later after you're addicted to it
13:13 Sounds like someone getting a low taper fade at the barber
9:55 Golden Sun
it's such a good game but idk wth is going on w/that device other than it probably being underpowered af 😅
0:01 Voca Gangnam Style
The GBA game is Golden Sun btw. Really good duo entry game.
9:54 GOLDEN SUN LET'S GOOOOOOOO
Watching you fail Picross was painful
2:02 not the vimm's lair jumpscare 😭😭
Is there a problem with that site?
@accountwontlastlong1Not much. Just doesn't work for the most part. But otherwise it's OK.
@accountwontlastlong1nintendon't lawyers are the problem - VL had to remove a lot of games because of DCMA from N.
@Phmk14"doesnt work" What doesnt? I've been using it for years and have had little issues
Insane refresh pull
100%
Insane discord pull
Truly
insane unemployed final boss ahh comment🎉
blessed.
0:57 The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is indeed a US government agency.
I wouldn't be surprised if this same model was being sold basically everywhere or if it just got certified by FCC standards so it could be imported but I might be completely wrong
As long as they're genuine, markings showing an FCC logo, registered ID, etc compliance just mean the equipment was tested and met the FCC requirements.
Generally electronics must meet certain standards regarding RF emissions to be legally imported and sold by retailers in the U.S.
If voca master is your power, what are you without it?
socrates, is that you?!
9:58 The first two Golden Sun games were peak.
8:45 the correct name for this puzzle is called a nonogram. A brand name is Picross.
"AA battery to this ... noise, converter" right before it died was perfect timing
that ghost dad is wholesome
4:06 sponsor
12:11 I know this feeling, that determination to get something to work and you're basically on the last possible troubleshooting solution and it still isn't working and in the process of picking up the towel to throw it in, it suddenly starts working.
EDIT: Okay "working" is a strong word but my point still stands.
8:43 thats fuckin picross and it ROCKS
“2008? That is OLLLLDDDD.”
😢
I used to have one of these. Well, not really. What I had was a lonely childhood, but it's close enough, I guess
8:35 Bringus Studios doesn't know what Picross is or how to play it.
Most unfortunate. Picross is goated.
"the 2008 emulation handheld experience" aka psp + m33 3.51 cfw
Overclocked to 333mhz
Now THIS is how you bring back a franchise. You don’t try to make a whole new series. But you bring back everyone for one special season in the future.
You versus the second channel she tells you not to worry about
10:00 Golden sun as it's peak
This feels like a main channel video
Nah. It's not 40 minutes long and mostly just Linux troubleshooting.
I have no idea anything. Why do you tubers have a second channel that's identical to the main channel?
No Steam installation = no main channel video
In an alternate universe Mr Bringle did try to install Steam and the resulting nonsense made it a main channel video
@bland9876 RUclips punishes creators for publishing different 'types' of videos.. Like a minecraft youtuber playing hytale or bringus posting something less than 40m long.
7:20 You are that crazy though.
"I have never owned a better AA battery to 'that noise' converter"
-Jon Bringus 2026
10:57 The names Roms, Gamebo Roms
this should be top comment
2:56 voca broca :(
Peak era to be honest
I love how connected and intertwined bringus and dankpods fandoms are😂❤
shout out to the editor for tracking the screen so immaculately on that intro segment
2:40 Wacky Workbench Mentioned!!
Count me as another boomer dissolved into dust once I realized you didn't recognize the GP2X
It hurts. I wanted this thing so bad in high school. Well, not this weird one but the actual GP2X
@adamfisher1401 man I was window shopping for a GP2X and waiting in anticipation for a Pandora handheld around that time. Memories
@riskvideosI got the Wiz. It was actually pretty good despite having what was essentially a beta version of OLED for the screen. All the screens on those things deteriorated incredibly fast and I think mine lasted a solid year
I loved golden sun on gameboy advance as kid.
My volume was on 100% Bringus screaming VOLCA into my brain was not on my 2026 bingo.
I'm listening to it through an amp, it nearly broke my headphones
@pfeldon10 Ahh yes, the real Bringus experience when he leaves the earrape mod on in half life 2
ITS DA BRINGLE
correction- it has a [poopy] mini usb port
Bringus has hit the cycle where the second channel is turning into the original content that popped off
You know, for a guy called "Bringus Studios", it sure is taking awhile for him to bring his own studio... But, I'll take what I can get, Daddy Bringy.
That's it. Macos on it
Finally, more gaming
Always has been
9:00 Bro played the game wrong then skipped the whole tutorial
finding a bringus studios vid before 1h is like buying bitcoin in 2011
That's how Isaac felt... ☠☠
The GP2X is an OG.
I wanted one of these so much back in the day.
Yeah, I thought it looked suspiciously like a GP2X, then I noticed the GPH (GamePark Holdings) logo and was like, "Oh."
I have my f200 and wiz still. Crazy chinese handhelds were still using stuff developed for them until very recently
I don’t know if I’m misremembering, but wasn’t there another Linux handheld a year or 2 later called the pandora or something like that? I think it ran full XFCE and maybe had a keyboard. EDIT: it was the Pyra from 2010 so several years later
I have one of those. I bought it when it was released. He's the grandfather who started the development and sales of these portable emulation devices.
If you put a lithium battery that charges at 4.2v through the same port that powers the batteries, you can overclock it to more than 200MHz without any problems or crashes.
I don't think I've ever seen Golden Sun run so slow/bad lol.
same let alone the chinese version of it
6:25 continueshow mentioned, what a throwback
10:37 believe it or not, that persons name is NOT a kasane teto reference. I checked their forum account and it was registered a whole 4 years before teto even existed. Time traveler probably.
I totally thought it was Kasane Teto O_o
Him not knowing picross hurt me
heartbroken he didnt do the silly thing and install steam on it :(
Haven’t watched you in so long I’m glad you’re getting sponsors now!!! Get that money up twin!!!!!!
11:53 dying 😂😂😂😂😂 btw seems insane that '06 is "just" 20years
the good ol' "I'm too cool to care" routine.
6:04 nah, I think Mr. Driller was popular enough, hasn’t gotten a new game since the Drillland remaster from like 2020 or 21 or something
0:11 holy tracking
6:46 vibecoded with ai in boston
Yea I hate that
I mean tbf when have you seen Americans make anything worthwhile
@alexandercatterson223 Ever heard of a little thing called Civilization?
@Diabhork Like the game or the concept?
Also mate if you mean the concept y'all don't really have much of a civilisation, y'all are literally a parody and or a caricature of the rest of the world.
Have fun with the war you started yet again despite not having won a war since WW2 and even then y'all won mostly because of the UK and the Soviets
@alexandercatterson223 A perfect encapsulation of the European mindset. Only measure of civilization is war, and even that, you get wrong.
Only guy on Earth to have not heard of Mr. Driller OR Picross
Whooohhhhh
voca voca
"this is a silly little guy" "she works" WHICH ONE IS IT. ARE THEY GENDERFLUID
weird but fun console with a weird but fun gender
the gender is gaming
this just in: jon bringus does not know of picross
2:37 why would you open the face buttons?????????
13:38 you know your humor's broken if this cracks you (me) up
I think it was the song starting that killed it lol
This looks exactly like the GP2X I ordered from an ad in Linux Format back in early 2006, it was Korean, I had to pay 60 quid for a 1GB SD card but man, being able to play Mega Drive games and the native Doom and Quake ports and watch .avi video files was pretty awesome. Mine had a digital thumb stick rather than 4 buttons though, guess they had to cost reduce it later. I remember PSX being just about playable if you overclocked one of the arm cores to 240Mhz, not full speed playable but I remember playing Soul Blade on there at like 60% speed I think. It did have a tendency to abruptly cut out, like there was 1 rubbish capacitor in there or something so if there was a fluctuation in voltage from the battery, or the battery was loose, it would crash and reset.
It is, indeed, a GP2X.
Bro casually using the poop covered Voca Master.
"Voca"
**immediately thinks of Vocaloid**
I love Miku
and the person who wrote one of the emulators shown is named K-Teto lmfaoooo. Not related though I found the forum thread for it and the post was 3 years before OUR teto released
Bios = Bro i'm onto something
This will be my new word if i'm cooking something
10:35 “Code by K-Teto”
Is that the one and only KASANE TETO????
The K-Teto account on the Pyra Handheld forum was created on June 20th, 2004. Kasane Teto was released on April 1st, 2008. Additionally, the Gnuboy2X port thread was posted on Dec 22, 2005, so there is absolutely no way for it to be intentional. They evidently didn't change the name to that, as the second comment on the thread thanks them by name.
In short, it's a funny coincidence.
@Hellscapedhaha thanks for doing the research for me, it didn’t click in my mind that this was earlier than 2008 lol
Only 15 minutes long… I NEED more bringus
I recognize that GPH logo. It's some sorts of a game console called GP2X.
Could not try that because I could not use it.
I mean, MAME does support this console, but its controls are completely unemulated from last time I tried and therefore I could never get the chance to try it.
I had one of these in the late 2000s until I left it in my car and some tweaker stole it along with my gps window mount, but they left the GPS in the glove compartment. I had the one with the joystick specifically and the community behind it was pretty diehard, where they came together and actually developed a system called the Open Pandora that was really ambitious for its time and they had to learn a lot of hard lessons along the way.
9:53 BRINGUS KNOWS ABOUT THE BINDING OF ISAAC🥹🥹🥹
im Isaac
Golden Sun on a Bringus video?! What a day to be alive!
Original title: „I am a slave to the Voca master“
That puzzle game with the ghosts are called "nonogram" or "griddler". You paint in the squares according to the numbers on the rows and columns. You can cross out those which you are sure that it's not to be painted in. When you solve the puzzle a picture appears.
13:41 - It's official, Rage against the machine have finally killed the machine!
5:58 IT'S THAT WHERE ZZZ GOT SOUL HOUNDS FROM
I was a part of the GP2X community back in the day. Feels so weird to see someone discovering it like some sort of ancient relic!
It was a really cool device, there were even a few commercial games released (like... 1 that I bought, but I'm sure there may have been a few more)
Loved my GP2X, always wanted the breakout board/dock but never got it. Ordered mine out of Linux Format in 2006!
Same here! Was very active back in the day hahaha
2:02 vimm mentioned, goated.
Holy YT notification.
Holy Indeed
