    About 1 year ago i saw your review on this bike and bought the bike a few weeks later in the exact same colour as yours. I use it to commute to work and some roadtrips and this bike is truly amazing! The fuel consumption is mind blowing! I reached 700km on 1 tank!! That's almost free!
    The maneuverability of this bike is very good, it weighs only about 100kgs and making turns on this bike in crowded areas is just like riding a bicycle, it's so easy to handle and fun to drive! You go through traffic like nothing else! Also on mountain roads it goes through the turns so easily and fast! I own a bigger bike besides this one (a GSF600 Bandit) and i must say that i enjoy driving this bike more than the big one, the way it handles is just so much more fun to me. Driving in the night with this thing is also very comfortable with the LED light which gives a lot of visibility!
    Of course there are less good things about it and that's the speed but hey i live in a country where we don't drive faster than 100km/h on the highway so it's not a problem at all for me, however i would not recommend driving on highways with a much higher speedlimit. The maximum speed i achieved once was 115km/h but cruise speed is around 85-90km/h. Above 90km/h the bike starts to vibrate a lot and that's not very comfortable. Another bad thing is what you mentioned about the footpegs, i'm also a pretty tall person so my knees also touch the fuel tank but for me personally it's not a big issue.
    The biggest reason i bought this bike is to travel to my work and make motorcycle trips affordable, i drive 120km a day for work and this bike saves me a shitload of money. It is in my opinion the best bike for starters and the best bike i've ever bought! You should definitely have one in your garage!
    And yes its true, ''The big one is going to be in the garage''.

      You sir speak my mind exactly. I have 26 years of riding experience and there is something so special about this bike. I have 4 other bikes (250, 300, 800 and 1000cc) and like yourself I adore this thing and I truely appreciate what Honda has done. Due to the fuel I save the bike is basically paid for itself after 6 months. Cheap to insure and register. Consumables are ridiculously cheap. I love that I can park it anywhere and ride it through doorways. In traffic there’s rarely a gap it won’t go through. The centre stand is very appreciated, it’s great for fuelling up, storing the bike and to very quickly turn the bike around in the garage. It’s all day comfortable with a mesh seat cover. I take it on day trips and the top speed here is 110kmph, and I find it very engaging and adventurous taking it on the motorways. You basically fight for position with the trucks. If the truck is loaded, you are overtaking them, if empty, they will be overtaking you. The simplicity is very refreshing, yet has everything I could ever need.

      I guess it’s what you value. The RE is more powerful especially torque wise. It’s more substantial. It is maybe more stylish and respected. But what I really value the CB for is reliability, fuel consumption, light weight, initial purchase price, service intervals, LED front light as standard, the thin profile for filtering and low insurance costs. To me, it’s the perfect mid week bike if your commute is under 80km/h. I have a embarrassingly large collection of bikes and although this bike doesn’t have the most kms on it, it’s the one that gets started up the most due to all the reasons above. RE are phenomenal value too.

    I am in the UK getting roughly 165mpg which is roughly 59 km/litre (1.7 litres per 100km), but I am heavier and its very hilly here. Although 6' 2" the tank hasn't been a problem as my lower legs are shorter. Great review and good tips about straps!

      FYI: i just made a post on this thread about the inaccuracy of the figures given on the display. next time you go to fill her up, zero trip A, (which resets the avg as you will know), and when you come to fill her up again take note of the litres of fuel used, the miles covered since last filled, and what the average says, and im sure you will be a little shocked at how far the displayed average figure is off. For example on my list trip using 2 visits to the pump, i used 11.04 litres of fuel for an odo distance of 369.2 miles on TripA & 358.3 miles on my beeline moto app, so used an average figure of 363.75 miles. This calcs as a 'true' average of 149.59mpg, with the bike display showing 170.1mpg - a big difference. I'd be interested to know what others actually get and not taking the displayed value as accurate, that's if anyone can be bothered lol. GL

    • @truthseeker104
      @truthseeker104 2 года назад

      @@Bob-ts2tu Ok I will do the calculation, my method will be to fill the tank up to the bottom of the collar, I am able to do this as I always fill it up from a can not the pump, drive a measured distance and then refill the tank using a 1 litre measuring cylinder (which I bought for use with my other bike). I am also interested to see how the figures compare! Incidentally the mpg figure has gone down as the weather cooled, it seemed to be doing the best MPG at 25 degrees C but now its nearer 10 degrees C so the MPG has gone down to less than 140mpg. Probably due to headwinds and the cold.

    • @Bob-ts2tu
      @Bob-ts2tu 2 года назад

      @@truthseeker104 please post the results on this thread when you have some figures :) - btw i have noticed lower mpg in colder weather too

      @@Bob-ts2tu Will do, just waiting for the wind to drop a bit here, otherwise the readings will be very low, I live near the coast and the head winds can be very strong at times. Better to do a realistic test!

    • @Bob-ts2tu
      @Bob-ts2tu 2 года назад

      @@truthseeker104 I went out at last weekend for a 60 mile ride and the headwinds on the open moor tops were shrieking, making me average less than 130mpg (on the bike reading), but by the end of the ride recovered to 160, (which is probably a true average 20mpg less). i wont know until i refill, but im keeping all my figures so i can see just how it varies over time. A bit geekish i know, but it's just curiosity. GL

    I've had mine (first bike) for 3 weeks and although have nothing to compare it to except holiday rentals, think it's fantastic. I've done almost 600 miles through mainly the yorkshire lanes at 30-40mph, so the fact it isn't too powerfull doesn't matter, as i aint interested in going too fast anyway, and 60mph top is well enough for me. I'm getting an insane 175 miles per gallon and am 6' tall weighing 19stone. it's comfortable enough, however need to take a break every hour and a half to stretch my legs, but maybe that's because i'm 60 lol. at £3k it's fantastic value compared to it's yamaha/suzuki/kawasaki rivals that cost £1.5k more !!, so to anyone thinking of a 125 you can't go wrong with this model Honda. GL

      @nothanks9050 2 года назад +1

      I'm tall and 'appropriately well constructed' too! Pleased to hear mpg is still outstanding. My area of France is similar, tight lanes plenty of hills, I think I need to try one these, had my full licence for a long time, worked at training school for a while etc. Had large bikes but for cheap simple transport this looks unbeatable. Made in Italy too, I strongly suspect this will be much nicer to ride than it's Chinese, and before that, Indian made predecessors. Hopefully build quality improved too.

    • @Bob-ts2tu
      @Bob-ts2tu 2 года назад +3

      @@nothanks9050 After having now covered about 2,700 miles i have done some tests on 'what the machine says' and what you 'actually get', calculated using proper fuel usage and the miles on the odometer averaged with a gps app distance, and have come to the conclusion that the figure on the display is well off the charts, and over 20mpg more than the 'true life' figure. For example after a 300 mile test over 3 days, riding frugaly and smoothly, i got the display to show an incredible 192.5mpg average. however when i calculated the actual usage it came out at 169mpg - still great, but nothing like i expected. Over another few days, i did a similar distance and the display read 170.1 mpg, where in fact i actually 'only' got a calculated 148mpg. another time when i rode faster and revved more than usual in hilly country, i actually averaged about 125mpg. My conclusion so far is that do not take the figures on the bike instrument display as gospel, it just gives you a indicuation of 'how well' you are doing, and if you really want to know do a proper avg = (miles / gallons) calculation. I'm still well happy and love the bike, and when you compare the 'worst case' to the 'best case' and take say a daily ride of 150miles, it will only cost you another £1.20 or so !! not even half the price of a cup of tea, so whatever you get it just aint worth worrying about. GL

      @@Bob-ts2tu Thanks for the reply and info, in fairness your real world results are still better than I would have hoped for. The computer is probably very basic and likely assumes an average rider height and weight perhaps 'more typical of Hondas domestic market' shall we say! Whilst recovering from a serious back injury a couple of years ago I delivered pizzas on those vision 110 scooters, just needed to leave the house for a few hours and do something easy. Claimed mpg wasn't possible even with exemplary behaviour. Still superb though. As your engine beds in more and more you may find it gets even better. It's incredible really, there's lots of BICYCLES that cost similar money, and maintenance cost per mile with pedal power really adds up too.

    Seems like they downgraded the front break on the 2024 version: from the two piston caliper to a single piston caliper. Can anyone give an expert comment on this?

    They didn't expect tall people, but there are more medium-sized guys, so that's what business is about, it's impossible to please everyone.

      Probably around 105-115 km/h. I myself weigh about 53 kg and I can get it easily over 100 km/h. Haven’t really tried top speed yet.
