lol never expect anything good to come out of whatnot breakers when it comes to doing the right thing. If that Wemby didn't get pulled, you can be damn sure that the breaker would still be expecting payment for the team spot. Good thing this got some exposure so scum like that, but people still won't learn and will continue to give these scammers their money.
The amount of people in this comment section exposing themselves as dishonest scumbags is hilarious. If you say that seller has any grounds at all to keep that card after AGREEING TO AN IOU you are either an idiot, an asshole, or most likely both. Either resell the team before the break starts or honor the IOU. Anything is dishonest and should be grounds for a permaban from Whatnot.

That’s why I break with my LCS and 2-3 trusted and established breakers I know in real life and from years prior to the boom that both elevated and ruined the hobby at the same time. You are aware a verbal contract is legally binding if there’s record of it right? Which this kid totally has. Both parties are idiots, but that doesn’t mean one isn’t right and the other isn’t wrong.
Personally I think breakers should only be allowed selling hobby spots. Profiting off retail because they go and wipe out shelves then make other's pay stupid prices to rip the product is just wrong

Backyard Breaks about to hire than seller at #1 to run their breaks going forward
I pulled an Anthony Richardson RC Explosive SSP case hit from the last blaster box of 2023 Panini Absolute on the shelf at my Walmart. They've been selling for about $325. I filmed the rip and sent it in for this countdown -- and was pretty sure I would make it on. Yikes! Wrong month!
You nailed it with your take on the Wemby situation. There should be no off site payments allowed, no IOUs. But it was agreed upon, so the seller should absolutely stand behind his word. There really needs to be enforced rules on how to handle this situation, because the break shouldn’t have happened until all payments were complete. If that means reselling the team to another buyer, so be it. Im not sure of the logistics, but there needs to be some sort of vetting process for sellers on all platforms. The lack of integrity is not a good look at all.

IMO if the (#1 spot) breaker agreed to accept pymt the next day, that in itself should favor the buyer in a custody battle. But who's gonna meditate that, a local court? Never gonna h.
#1 is a crazy Story… wow 😡…. That’s crazy….. for 2023 Super Bowl…. HITMAN RIPS had SB squares… I kept having issues and he let me IOU him…. and one HIT, for $1000 And he 1000000% HONORED it…. Because that’s what DECENT PEOPLE DO… and it was a couple days because the issue was with my card attached to PayPal so I had to wait for a new card and everything and he still honored it…. Wow sorry to hear that… Hope WHAT NOT PAID U OUT THE $5k

When a person doesn’t follow their word it eventually just turns into noise coming out of our mouths. Where’s the trust in this world? #greed

Ian, I was in the stream when that wemby monopoly card hit, the breaker had already agreed iou for spot, once card was pulled he wanted to keep it, whatnot gave the buyer $5000 and kicked differ323 off whatnot, shady breaker.

I stumbled onto this you tube channel a few weeks ago. I have not collected cards in over 20 years. Being a Chicago guy I got interested in this year's draft because of Bedard. Aside from that I saw a thumbnail of your video and was curious why this Michael Jordan card was in it. Watched the video and realized the card is worth over $1k raw and as much as $6 k graded. Needless to say I was stunned how much prices had changed in 20 plus years. My collection (which I actually thought was pretty worthless) actually has some really nice cards and value. Thanks for making me aware of this. It's been a very fun few weeks going through all these old cards of mine.

Pulled a Trout Golden Mirror that went for $560 I was pretty happy about. December was the Kanji script Ohtani Topps Now that went for 2100 although not retail.
If the payment didn't go through, then techinically the "buyer" doesn't own anything. If any other card drop, I doubt the breaker would have declined his payment.
So it's a loss on both sides. BUT if the breaker DID say on camera "Okay so and so, you can pay me AFTER" he has to own up and give him the card.

When does an IOU become valid? My understanding is the buyer for the #1 card had his payment declined so if there was an IOU agreement then yes the whatnot seller should honor it however, I am not on the Supreme Court for a reason lol.
Pulled a Red & Black checkerboard Prizm Tank Dell…nice & centered.
I pulled a CJ stroud Prizm green wave out of a hanger. Went to another store the next day and pulled it AGAIN.

I've always said if I win the powerball jackpot I would quit my job. That said, 5,000 dollars isn't enough money to tarnish the name of my business over. That guy was well within his rights to cancel the transaction, but the repercussions he'll have for pulling that crap will cost him 10s if not potentially 100s of thousands. All for what? A couple month's rent? Times must be tough for breakers right now (or, at least that one.)
#1 is crooked. You can tell who is new in the hobby. You get ONE shot... particularly as a seller. If you poop the bed. You gone. So many people have access to the shady actions. Smh.

You need Togo to hobby shop or order off line and buy hobby boxes that guarantee autos and such. SteelCity collectables is my go-to but I'm also from Pittsburgh so I can goto there shop

I gotta start filming my breaks; last month I pulled a Panini Prizm Scoot Henderson Green Pulsar RC /25, a Wemby Green Prizm RC and on top of that I opened a blaster of Panini Mosaic Football that had NINE (9) Honeycombs in it including a Jahmyr Gibbs RC, Cooper Kupp, Johnathan Taylor and Paul Krause.

Let me just say this.... if the spurs didn't hit, would the buyer have paid for his spot at the end? Sorry, but IOU's in a break is pretty counterproductive. Buyer never paid on time, then the breaker has every right to back out of the deal to recoup his investment. Money and empathy don't mix.

Hunting for downtowns is easier to do bc atleast there are other nice cards in donruss. Hunting for kabooms is either kaboom or nothing and there very very hard to find sonits like just throwing money away
I really just do not understand people who send 1/1s to get graded unless they're planning to keep the card in their own PC
Panini just producing more and more products like monopoly. Junk wax era for sure. Reminds me of when I collected in the late 80s and early 90s. Card companies got too greedy.
Except even with all they are printing, they still are not any where close to what they were printing in the junk wax era.

Doesn’t matter if payment wasn’t made yet. Once dealer gives his word on selling it and says the buyers name right there and then whatnot takes that as transaction. Keeping your word means a lot to them and I respect that a lot about whatnot. 👍🏽
