Canoeing down the weir or the warren at Hay-on-Wye

- Canoe descent of the weir at the warren near Hay-on-Wye. You hear the sound of this natural weir before you see it. At low water levels the only way to descend this tiny rapid is by a fast and shallow chute on the very right of the weir. Fortunately there was enough water flowing over the weir to make a fun attempt right through the middle. The cottage on river left as well as being situated in the most idyllic location, has to have one of the most perfect views on the whole river.

Looks cool!
Hard to imagine this same spot was in huge flood back in Feb - up to the window frames in that cottage!
Andy Ballard no way that’s crazy! I’m here now we’re going to try the canoes this week
Looks a good one for a swim that Andy. You were definitely enjoying the flow of things there. Mark
Defo, next time I'm gonna stop for a dip! I was more concerned with not getting capsized esp as I was carrying a bag full of camera gear!
It’s great
Definitely make me inspired
Thanks
Thanks Hassan, there are a couple more longer canoe trips in there on my channel too if you're interested. Top job on the trousers!
haha looks great fun mate, glad your see your enjoying the wye :)
It's a lovely river, 2 canoe trips, already planning another hopefully.
Good on ya Andy could see the smile on your face when you got through it 😁
Yeah, I was rather chuffed Mandy, as when I did the same trip last year with Wol I took several dunkings ! all on fast water or rapids.
Well, Andy, did you fall in?
Nope, kept it quite together as it happens... all ship shape indeed.
