I don't know why, but as a child I didnt understand this game at all. I didn't understand, what the hell is going on, what should I do, where should I go... Still loved it though XD
@SCARSSURVIVED These jokes are pretty lame, actually. Having never played this game or fully knew/remembered/REALIZED this series even existed outside those $0.01 game pad with only one game on them and were purchased in the toy section, this gameplay video makes me miss the blissful ignorance of not understanding celebrity references at all. That said, the game itself doesn't look too bad for its era.
Only things I would want in a remake are: the option to shut Gex up before the game gets started (so some people won't get annoyed by his one-liners), an option where you can invert the camera, and the draw distance (like what they did with Turok on Steam). With those issues fixed, the game I think would be perfect.
I played this game back when I was 5 or so. The disk got all scratched up so we couldn't play it anymore, and I haven't thought of it since. I saw this game pop up in my news feed because it's the anniversary of the first game, so now I'm taking a trip down memory lane.
I've never heard of this game before was looking for games like spyro, got sent to this. But wtf, this is some trippy stuff feel like I'm way too high right now lol
Dude when I was little I would play the demo version of this. I don’t remember what the disc was called, but it had a video of some Spyro game play and that’s what got me into Spyro. I’ve recently been getting back into Spyro and I just remembered this game the other day. I also used to play jersey devil and gta: vice city. Damn dude...the memories
Anybody else on a nostalgia binge? I’m playing all these old games on my win 7 computer using psx emulator. I recommend it to everyone, these games play so smooth even on an old computer
I had a demo of this game while I was around 4 - 8 and the game started me off in a mansion with a dead body outline on the bottom floor in an entrance area where you can walk upstairs I can remember few things about it but the game kind put me on edge like on the verge of fear and curiosity I was scared about the fact that someone died in there and that the game was confusing to the point where I forgot where I was, I had headaches and yet I still played but the worst and most horrifying part was a maze area the sky was dark and the feeling of being lost unsettled my young mind I can't remember if there was an enemy or enemies I had to avoid along the way but this game scared me just as much as Chakan: The Forever Man.
It was for Gex 3 the mystery tv channel, and yes, when I was young, the body outline with blood definitely shocked me, yet woke up my curiosity too.The mounted bears that start walking in the mansion also gave me nightmares. Its a good game.
Accelerator Omg I absolutely know what you mean and have been thinking about this game recently for this very reason. This game could be stressful and downright scary at times. Yet was still so much fun.
I totally understand, this game had the exact same effect. My most terrifying moment during my gaming life as a child was the original Halo, when the Flood (relentless zombies that swarm & make horrible noises) first arrived, damn it used to really fuck with me. Even though I completed the game a thousand times, I would also be so stressed out waiting for that mission, and was happy when it was over.
I grew up playing super Mario sunshine on the GameCube but I remember going over to my cousins house and seeing him play this game I had no idea what this game was it was so strange seeing this game again.
Here are some jokes I think they should've used in the Toon TV stage. 1. Note to self, never take X while touring an animation studio 2. You say it's Wabbit Season, YOU say it's Duck Season...but I say it's Sweeps Season (as in ratings sweeps) 3. Hey, Fudd, Hooked on Phonics could really help that speech problem of yours 4. Did Tex Avery spike the punch again? 5. If only the Squash and Stretch thing worked where it counts 6. "Be vewwy quiet, I'm hunting for Wez" 7. I think I strapped my Nostalgia Goggles on too tight 8. Hey, Le Pew; I've got fifty years of restraining orders with your name on 'em 9. It's so sweet in here, I'm getting a toothache 10. So, THIS is where the biggest toon stars go for their after parties
Yep. Also played this a bunch as a kid. But the last level was buggy because of a problem with the disc, so I never beat the last boss. It was very confusing for me as a 10 year old Swedish kid.
Thanks, it lags so badly, it runs at like 1 fps and keeps skipping chunks (video only, audio is fine). The disc is in good condition, there is one deep scratch but that's just about it. I think you're right.
No. Like I said, it's in good condition, just the intro lags really badly. Would it be my PS2? I have a slim and read online that some slim models have awful backwards compatibility with PS1.
I wonder why they had different voice actors for European release of Gex series. I thought the PAL version voice actors were not even close as good as Dana Gould was. I was lucky to play the American version as a kid because a friend of mine had a MOD chip on his PlayStation and he had a pirated copy of Enter the Gecko (NTCS). Too bad Crystal Dynamics didn't get any money of the copy but I'm sure they did make enough cash even we didn't buy the real game. If we had bought the PAL version, we would have missed the great one-liners of Mr. Gould!
Ah, I remember this game! I had so much fun with this game when I was just a little boy! And now that its been added to the PS3 for download recently, boy oh boy I can't wait to get this game back in my hands and play this game of my good childhood memories! Thanks for the walkthrough since I immediately know what the game looked like AND sounded like, and this is the one!
I had been telling everyone for a long time that I had a Geico game for the PlayStation when I was younger and no one knew what I was talking about😅😅 found it...but this isn't Geico
I remember breaking my game when I was at the haunted mansion and the hands reaches out of the wall and grabs you. I had so many nightmares of that level.
I remember playing this when I was a young kid. I played it on my N64, yet I never remembered what it was called. After the game broke, I threw it away. Thankfully I stumbled upon it again and now I remember everything. Ah, nostalgia.
I wish I could go back to these times, being 4 years old when the ps1 first came out and playing this. I specifically remember watching my mom play and telling her to tail bounce on the clock in the haunted mansion so it would "wake up the ghosts." Now that I'm older, I realize she did it and played the game just so she could make me happy. What I wouldnt give to go back
I grew up playing this game, never knew what I was doing but it was super fun, but those walls with moving faces creeped me the fuck out though. I played Rayman, Crash bandicoot, Spyro, Godzilla unleased, Ratchet and Clank, Home alone, The simpsons game. Those days were the best. Now when I watch videos of the old games I used to play, they feel so wierd and majestic, I love it.
My cousin had this game on his PSX. Since we live in Australia we had the PAL version which had a different voice for Gex, a deep English voice. Is this the US version? I wish GOG had the PC version of this game, I'd probably buy it if they did.
I'm bout to get a ps1 just so I can play it grew up playing this triply game wow the good times red demo disk with blasto and Jersey devil and gex and the others and many more oh most for got jet Motto
His audio lines remind me so much of a cross between Ace Ventura and Max Headroom LOL... If Max Headroom ever had a video game, I would imagen it be just like this game LOL
I don't know why, but as a child I didnt understand this game at all. I didn't understand, what the hell is going on, what should I do, where should I go... Still loved it though XD
+Neptunella I'm more baffled by the fact that I pretty much beat this game when I was like 6
But one thing you cannot deny: Lock and Load Little Lizard *zuoomm*
OMG same here
Sounds like me and siphon filter and banjo kazooie lmao
That was me and resident evil
"Captain, there a bizarre alien race that find Adam Sandler funny." Wow that's a good line
I like the joke where they keep reusing "All this technology and...".
Oh wait *that's not a joke they actually do it*
OH SHIT WHEN GEX CALLS YOU OUT YOU JUST GOTTA STOP
I remember playing this all the time and having no idea what the fuck was going on
SCARSSURVIVED omg yes!!!!! me either i'm like wtf am i playing what's the meaning behind this but as a 10 year old i'm like whatever lol
Charlotte Barton I was about 6 when I first played this and even as ive grown older I still don't really understand!!!
SCARSSURVIVED lmfao hell yeah
@SCARSSURVIVED
These jokes are pretty lame, actually. Same!
THE NOSTALGIA IS KILLING ME
That part where you are in the scary mansion I never beat because I was afraid to play it
+eyyodc Same but I was only 6 or 7 that time. So maybe 16-17 years ago. haha
+eyyodc exactly same with me ahahaha
me too lol
me too
trouxa
“Is it just me or AM I ENGULFED IN FLAMES!?” That line never fails to make me laugh.
Same here
I had this demo on those old Play Station Underground Disc's along with Tomba 2 and I think it was Gran Turismo 2 and Einhander
+Reduxalicious omg i remember that too, i thought i was the only one that had it lol. it was the best!!
Reduxalicious had the same pack man haha
Reduxalicious yes, the fucking best!!!!
Reduxalicious Tomba!! Omg I forgot about that game.
it was the first Tomba and Grand Turismo
All the jokes I never got as a kid!
And now that you do get them, are they funny?
"Jokes"...
There really wasn't much *to* get.
They're just insert-bad-thing-to-rip-on-here one-liners.
Stupid lowbrow humor went over your head as a kid?
I can say the same, except to add on even today I don't understand most any of them.... Dumb lines...
Ahhh so many memories with this game. I played this in Kindergarten with my mom all the time. Now i'm in college
I bet if this game got a remake, it would be awesome.
Only things I would want in a remake are: the option to shut Gex up before the game gets started (so some people won't get annoyed by his one-liners), an option where you can invert the camera, and the draw distance (like what they did with Turok on Steam). Gecko 1993 the one liners make the game
@@Gecko1993HogheadIncOfficial i don't know about you but i love the lines he does
Square enix owns the IP.
@@CP-uw4ts They would turn it into an RPG. lol
I fvcking loved this game when I was a kid even though I didn't really know what the hell to do and just wondered around aimlessly haha.

You're not trippin lol....It's a really fun game...you should try it out sometime
Popoman100 I ussed to spend hours and hours playing this game when i was a kid :)
Jared Jeffery same here....I still love the game
+Christina T. also play Jersey Devil
+Christina T. dude i played it and it was wayyy to trippy even back then.
Dude when I was little I would play the demo version of this. I don’t remember what the disc was called, but it had a video of some Spyro game play and that’s what got me into Spyro. That be the PSX: Interactive CD Sampler - Volume 7. It introed me to Gex/Jersey Devil/Einhander and Hot Shots Golf.
Memories of this game suddenly came back to me the other day. I never finished it either. So many great one-liners.
"Slip of the tongue baby" lol
Wow, the nostalgia of this game...
1:49
Gex the Gecko: Comin' through!
Rez: [evil laughing]
I remember I had this on a Playstation Underground Disc
Anybody else on a nostalgia binge? I’m playing all these old games on my win 7 computer using psx emulator. I recommend it to everyone, these games play so smooth even on an old computer
One of the best ps1 games ever
Nah not even close
I loved this game, but I sure as heck do not remember those audio bugs.
Thats quite the profile picture, but can it roll?
My guess is they're using an emulator and it's a bug with the emulation.
@@ThaDevilzHandI recently played all three Gex games on PS1 emulator and i didn't have any audio bugs, it is all, have a nice day.
@@Etalikor Sweet! Glad it worked for ya, but don't see why you felt the need to tell me that 5 years later lol.

Aw man, classic hidden gem of a PS1 game! My childhood!
I grew up playing super Mario sunshine on the GameCube but I remember going over to my cousins house and seeing him play this game I had no idea what this game was it was so strange seeing this game again.
My very first PlayStation game.
I think this was one of the first games to use the PlayStation Duel Analog Controller.
All these references went completely over 6 year old me when I played this game on the weekends after renting it at blockbuster.
Waves of nostalgia
Man, just finally remembered this game from my childhood after finding the entire series on my psp... Man, how did i ever forget about this?
Here are some jokes I think they should've used in the Toon TV stage.
1. Note to self, never take X while touring an animation studio
2. You say it's Wabbit Season, YOU say it's Duck Season...but I say it's Sweeps Season (as in ratings sweeps)

10. So, THIS is where the biggest toon stars go for their after parties
Omg the nostalgia
Which demo disc was this from? I remember this game wow
That be the Interactive CD Sampler Pack Volume #7
Decided to drink and ended up looking up Gex gameplay. Jesus fucking Chris my feels. The nostalgia is to much.
Not to mention I originally played this when I was like 8. I'm now 24. Good god.
they need to do the same to this game as they are doing to Crash Bandicoot
+Daniel Hardy Absolutely agree
if they can bring Crash Bandicoot back from the dead they can bring gex back also
+Daniel Hardy Right. We'll see.
Agreed. In some ways, Gex has aged way better than Crash. They just need to update the graphics and fix the camera for this one...that’s about it.
Ask square enix
Does he say: "All this technology so fat guys can hear Rush Limbaugh"?
I remember this game for some weird reason,I think my dad played it a lot when I was a baby.
Yep. Also played this a bunch as a kid. But the last level was buggy because of a problem with the disc, so I never beat the last boss. It was very confusing for me as a 10 year old Swedish kid.
Remaster this epic game
We can only dream
Who's here after Scott's recent video?
I remember playing this with my sister when I was like 4 years old now I’m 14. Good memories

Can anyone explain this? The intro lags loads on my PS2, but the rest of the game plays fine. It's the PAL version if that makes any difference.
+Gamez Geek Probably the disc is aging. I have some lagging parts too on my Rayman 2 disc, which didn't lag back in the day.
Thanks, it lags so badly, it runs at like 1 fps and keeps skipping chunks (video only, audio is fine). The disc is in good condition, there is one deep scratch but that's just about it. I think you're right.
Has your disc a lot of scratches? If so, then it's definitely the disc that's in a bad condition.
No. Like I said, it's in good condition, just the intro lags really badly. Would it be my PS2? I have a slim and read online that some slim models have awful backwards compatibility with PS1.
Hmm, that's strange. It could also be your laser, yeah.

I cant believe I randomly remembered this game
Is that Elmer Fudd from Looney Tunes? 11:57
Yes.

Remaster this!!!!
Well, the voice lines are kinda glitched...
Thanks to the voice cheat I put in.
Remaster Gex, but use Ryan Reynolds for the voice of Gex. Amiright?!
Gex Trilogy was announced for modern consoles and PC.
@Etalikor Yep looking forward to it
Played the first Gex on the 3D0 game system and it was so awesome. May have to lad this onto my Vita.

Yes this is the US version and yeah the UK had a different voice actor. It was the same deal for Gex 3 as well.
