There’s something about Bass yelling out “I give” and actually being deleted, on screen, that just makes this final battle with him all the better. After six games of him giving you at the very least some minor respect, you beat him at his nigh-strongest and now all he can do is practically beg for mercy before exploding, giving what’s most likely a hollow threat. So satisfying.
Idk if he actually died. But one thing I do know is the life aura data was always found near Bass and in StarForce you find life aura in deep space. I think they tried to tie Bass' ending with the anime and manga where in both scenario Bass leaves Earth for good. Plus the only canon ending for Bass in the games implying he survived was as the end of battle network 3. So all these interactions may have never happened. But this would actually be the second time bass explodes in post game. First time being in 4.5.
He’ll be back. Remember what he said, he won’t be deleted so easily. Even Lan was sure that Bass will come back again in the future. Also FYI, this is actually the second time he blew up, the first was in 4.5 which is considered canon.
@@zerosorigin8387 if you play the Japanese version it's implied that the only 2 navis to survive is Bass EXE and MegaMan EXE. In the Japanese version there is actually an extra area of the undernet which is actually how you get to the graveyard area. In the true graveyard 1 area. There are navi grave sites for ALL navis in the series. Even for Zero Exe, Roll, Glide, Serenade, Starman Exe, and Gutsman, etc who wouldn't die for years after MegaMan BN ends have a tombstone. MegaMan and Bass are the only 2 navis who don't have one. And seeing as how Bass BX is a random encounter in the Graveyard 2 area. It further backs up the notion that Bass survived as he always does.
If he survived this, I wonder if he was lurking somewhere in starforce, considering the advancements in 3, it would’ve been possible for him to materialize in the real world.
I believe Bass left Earth similar to the manga. The proof is the fact if you play Starforce 1 Leo. The life Aura data can only be found in deep space with Bass' silhouette in the chip. After Bass stopped using life Aura in 3, the chip was generally found in areas near or in relation to Bass. In the manga, after Bass helped Megaman defeat the cybeast fusion, Bass wanders space net with Serenade and neither can actually return to earth for some reason.

Also, Masakazu Eguchi(Scenario writer of Battle Network series), Masahiro Yasuma(director of series) said they originally planned to make Serenade’s reappearance in MMN6, but it was scrapped because of capacity issues.
This is true - most of that was because of the Boktai 3 crossover sidequest being cut from NA releases due to them thinking it had failed over here. The chip data is still in the game even, just the areas were cut.

Small rant incoming for 15:38: Idk why, but I don't like how Bass.EXE went out like this in the games. Him begging for mercy after being defeated is not what I envision Bass.EXE as. He's taken beatings way more destructive than this fight like getting absorbed and being blown to bits by Alpha for example. He shouldn't be taking down this easily as he's gotten stronger over the course of 6 games + spin-offs due to his unique Get Ability program and many different forms and powers he's required as a result. If he were to be beaten and be taken down, he would most likely go down fighting with his pride on the line and not beg for his life imo. That's why I appreciate the NT Warrior manga canon more than the game canon as they treated Bass.EXE as an actual character rather than just some tough extra boss you get to fight after beating the main game. He had reasons for being the Internet's God of Destruction because of how NetNavis and humans perceived and viewed Bass and feared his programming and strength as he got blamed for Alpha's shenanigans. His rivalry with MegaMan.EXE is also a reason as both of them were trying to push each other's beliefs onto one another about whether or not Navis and humans can work together and co-exist. They both get stronger together as they keep on fighting against each other. Making them very identical in terms of power levels. Hence why the ending involves both of them working together to stop the Cybeasts from destroying the Cyberworld. And the extra manga involves Bass.EXE having closure for his original creator, Dr. Cossacks, after seeing him on his death bed. And the manga doesn't even damage his character either. As after Dr. Cossack dies, he still wants to fight MegaMan.EXE. Since as the words of Takamisaki has stated in Volume 10, Bass.EXE is just incredibly lonely and all he needs is a friend. And that friend is MegaMan.EXE. Since he's the only NetNavi to not only let him live one time to fight again as friends, but also is the only one capable of actually defeating him. Sorry for the rant and the massive dickriding on the manga, but I just feel like getting this off my chest after viewing through all of the BN canon in preparation for the Legacy Collection. Edit: Even the anime got his personality right too save for his terrible origin. He was a challenge for MegaMan.EXE right to the end of his appearance. He fought against Hub and ProtoMan.EXE at the same time, stalemated Colonel.EXE, help take down Nebula Grey, and even came back to fight Slur again after he got beat the first time. Bass.EXE isn't no coward nor some nihilistic maniac. The dude is a strong, capable fighter who is regularly on-par with MegaMan.EXE in terms of powerscaling.
I never read the manga so this might play a factor, but you're giving Bass too much credit. In this particular series he's an enemy, not a rival. He's always shown up at the worst time, then run off after being defeated. Yeah, he's broken from the start, maybe his character deserves some kind of redemption, but rather than betray his character I think this scene reveals Bass' true nature, a vindictive coward.
@@ellowell8160 No it does not. Bass.EXE has never been cowardly even in the games. Also, he has never once tried destroying the Cyberworld either. The events in BN3 has Bass become misguided, but longing a good battle. He never shys away from a strong opponent with the hope of them becoming stronger later on by leaving them alive for the most part. The times we mostly see of Bass besides BN3 is the Undernet. Which is his home and further more his place of rest. It's not that he catches us at the worst time, but we catch him at the worst time. After all, it is the post-game scenes and not related to the overall story. Either way, this whole scene was definitely OOC for Bass.EXE. Both the manga and even the anime got his character right.
