Todrick sang his McDonald's order in the drive-thru. Video went viral. He was on season 9 of American Idol. Worked on RuPaul's Drag race. Starred on Broadway in 'Kinky Boots'. He competed on the Masked Singer. The list goes on. He is the mastermind behind this masterpiece!
Fun fact: Todrick is a huge Wizard of Oz fan. The dog that Kirstie is holding at the opening of Somewhere Over The Rainbow is Todrick's dog. The dog's name is Toto. Of course.
Great reaction. I have watched “Wizard of Ahhhs” so many times, and I love it more each time! They are truly amazing! Todrick Hall is a genius and extremely talented himself.
Her name was miss. Giltch. Also, the wicked witches name is actually Elphaba. If you want to know why she’s the way she is then check out wicked. It’s kinda a back story and is a Broadway musical! I’m a musical theater kid so had to say it 😎
Todrick is a master producer and entertainer, blending classic stories with modern song selections, and shared the spotlight with talented performers. I highly recommend Spell Block Tango; Chicago musical w/ Disney Villains. Also Black & White.
Todrick didn't go to the same high school as the trio. He's also 6 years older. I believe they met in community theater in Arlington and became friends via that shared experience.
Great Reaction! Thanks for your apology. I may have to change my name. 😞 I cant get over how well they picked the songs that retold the story so well! The transition from Scott to Mitch with the “do you” was brilliant! Notice too Scott, the scarecrow wanted a brain so his song said “I’m thinking about” and Mitch, the tinman wanted a heart, so his words “my heart is damaged” Then Kirstin sings “you’re lying on the cold hard ground” to Avi who is a”lion on the ground” ....just so so so well played! Kirstin dreamt of being on Broadway (which she has done now) so she was spectacular! A full production! Is there anything PTX can’t do? Nope.
There were 17 songs in total. Somewhere over the rainbow-Judy Garland Blown Away-Carrie Underwood Wide Awake-Katy Perry Lollipop-The Chordettes Shoes-Kelly Short Short Man-20 Fingers Cups(When I'm Gone)-Anna Kendrick Thinking about you-Frank Ocean Damaged- Danity Kane Can't Be Tamed-Miley Cyrus I knew you were trouble-Taylor Swift Power-Kanye West Teeth-Lady Gaga Home Sweet Home-Motley Crue Home-Daughtry Home-Phillip Phillips Home-Michael Buble
I like the way Avi uses his upper register to sing the melody line (as he does in the last scene) quite often and always to speak. The voice coaches all talk about how basses should use and practice this more often and the example they generally give is Kaplan.
I find the Wizard of Ahhhs so entertaining and just fun! Thanks for reacting to it. I'm so glad to hear you're going to do some collab with Adam Straughan. I recently subbed to him a few weeks ago and I like him very much too. Thanks for the great reactions, Mace, keep it up! and as always MORE PTX PLEASE! :)
Oh my gosh, yes!!! I have seen it countless times devery single time, it blows me away at the thought that it's just all them! I just forget. I mean, you know it's a capella, but, you just forget that there are no instruments. Mitch is insane in that.
You may not have heard of Todrick but Hollywood and the entertainment world sure has. Todrick and Taylor Swift were co-producers for Taylor's "You Need To Calm Down" video. Todrick also produced and sat with Taylor at the VMAs. He also produced part of Gwen Stefani's Christmas Special. He also writes music and has a touring show, which of course he writes, choreographs, and stars in. The dude is extremely talented.
Kirstin did such a great job as Dorothy, Glenda the Good Witch and the Bad Witch. All of the percussion was Kevin with Avi doing the bass as usual. The creativity of Todrick Hall is mind blowing and this was a great fun collaboration. This could easily have been an actual full length movie if they wanted to that I think would have been successful. Thanks for reacting. 😊
Toddrick Hall is also a great person to react to. His music/massh-ups/skits all have a bit of tongue in cheek. He really is a genius. Cheek out his Disney skits like Beauty and the Beats. His visual album Straight outa Oz is a brilliant auto biography.
Just before you cut it off, he was getting ready to thank them for doing this with him. They have done a couple more with him, one if called Black and White which was a part of his epic 1 1/2 hour concert tour called Straight Outta Oz. Please do that one also, shows much more of Todrick's talent. There is also a song of Toddy and Joseph Gordon Levitz it is short but again shows talent not only for Toddy but for Joseph.
This was so incredible!! Also yes this is pretty old, from 2013 lol! Also YES THAT WAS ALL KEVIN AND AVI!!! Kev does the beatboxing and Avi does the bass! Listen to this again sometime and listen closely to the beatboxing... Kevin is an alien lol!
This one is always entertaining to watch, thanks! I think you and Adam should watch some PTX live performances 👍 PopSpring 2016 (it's 4 songs, can choose one or watch all 4) or if you are ready for it, Aha! Singapore Star Vista 🤯
Thanks for the reaction! It was great! This is another favorite of mine from PTX! Did you notice the 'boys' played the farm hands, the scarecrow, tin man, & lion and the little ppl of oz. Kirstin played Dorothy, the good witch and the wicked witch! I think they did such a great job on this. I wanted to hear the WHOLE songs and a longer version! But all in all it was fantastic! My fave was the wicked witch.. Kirstin's voice was Steller! lol So you are teaming up with Adam Straughan? Can't wait, I follow him too! Yay!
Todrick is a producer but he's also a Broadway performer. He's from the same town as Kirstie, Mitch and Scott in Texas. There must be talent in the water.😊
Todrick Hall is a genius at creating elaborate musical productions. He has admitted to being obsessed with the Wizard of Oz all his life. In 2016, he released a semi-autobiographical visual album of original songs entitled Straight Outta Oz. It utilizes Oz themes to dramatize key moments in his life. The album features lots of well-known guest performers including Kirstin, Scott & Mitch from PTX, Jordin Sparks, Nicole Scherzinger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, RuPaul, Amber Riley, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Tracie Thoms, Raven-Symone, Tamar Braxton, Bob the Drag Queen and Shoshana Bean. It's well worth watching in its entirety (71 minutes) but you can also react to individual tracks which are all posted on his RUclips channel. My personal favourite track is Papi (featuring Nicole Scherzinger). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straight_Outta_Oz
Great reaction to an awesome video! The song choices and harmonies in this entire montage were on point Curiel check out their collaboration on Black and White.
Pentatonix is amazing, but I feel you gave them credit for Toddrick's outstanding production and arrangements. Glad you liked it and I hope you check out more of Toddrick's work.
Todrick has some great songs! Check out his original song, "If I Had a Heart." Also check out "Black and White" which has Superfruit (Mitch and Scott) and Kirstin. Both are awesome songs!
I came here from a message you left about what to react to next. I looked at your playlist, and you don't have anything by Steam Powered Giraffe. So, maybe look into them. They've been around a while, and they are a lot of fun. If you are so inclined, check out "Automatonic, Electronic, Harmonic," or "Brass Goggles," as a beginning, then go on from there.
Todrick hall is so talented it should be illegal. Check out his videos on this channel. The book "wicked, pre-dates the wizard of Oz. It focuses on when the witches were in college. This is when they 1st meet. The good witch of the north Glinda, and the wicked witch of the West, Elphaba, along with her sister The wicked witch of the east. It's deals with the themes of is Evil due to nature versus nurture, genocide, Good versus evil. Dorothy is not in the story. The shoes were not Glinda's to give away. She had no right to do that in my opinion

This whole production deserved atleast a grammy nomination in my opinion.

This one is ridiculous... in a beautiful way
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Todrick is a master producer and entertainer, blending classic stories with modern song selections, and shared the spotlight with talented performers.
I highly recommend Spell Block Tango; Chicago musical w/ Disney Villains. Also Black & White.
Yes Todrick was the genius here. PTX just had to sing. But it's all amazingly beautiful.
Todrick, Kirstin, Scott and Mitch all went to the same high-school in Texas, and even sang some together back then.
Todrick didn't go to the same high school as the trio. He's also 6 years older. I believe they met in community theater in Arlington and became friends via that shared experience.
Great Reaction! Thanks for your apology. I may have to change my name. 😞

I love this, not sure how many times I've watched the "The wizard of Ahhh's"-video

Great reaction, as always. I'd love to see you and Adam react to "Gold", the Kiiara cover by Pentatonix.
Oh! Yes!! I love gold!
yes yes yes! that's one of their best :)
Gold is a Must.
Oh my gosh, yes!!! I have seen it countless times devery single time, it blows me away at the thought that it's just all them! I just forget. I mean, you know it's a capella, but, you just forget that there are no instruments. Mitch is insane in that.
100% agree, that’s a beast of a cover they do & Mitch is flawless in it
Todrick Hall also collabed With Mitch, Scott, and Kirsten for a song called black and white.
You may not have heard of Todrick but Hollywood and the entertainment world sure has. Todrick and Taylor Swift were co-producers for Taylor's "You Need To Calm Down" video. Avi's part is my ringtone 😍 I could listen to that repeatedly! It fills me, every time
Nice reaction. Thanks. Please react to "Radioactive", "New Rules x Are you That Somebody?" "Gold" and "Havana".
All of these are crazy good suggestions! Take your pick!!! 💛xo
Yeah, it's quite a bit old - it's from 2013.
and to answer your question - Avi left in 2017.
Good rwaction dude

"Aqualung" is a song by Jethro Tull.
Great reaction to an awesome video! The song choices and harmonies in this entire montage were on point Curiel check out their collaboration on Black and White.
Ah vee is how to pronounce Avi's name. 🙂

Great reaction, but you should have given the biggest shoutout to Kirstie...she was THE SUPERSTAR !!!
If you like this you should see Todrick Hall’s productions called “Beauty and the Beat Boots” and “Low”
6:36 King Crimson?
I'd love PTX to do a cover of "Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood, in the style that they use in the Wizard of Ahhhs video.
Probably spelling it wrong, but before she turned into the witch, I believe her name was Elmira Gulch.
I came here from a message you left about what to react to next. I looked at your playlist, and you don't have anything by Steam Powered Giraffe. So, maybe look into them. No extra instruments! There is surely studio equalizing happening, but they don't add in anything you can't see.
Please react to Pentatonix new original song
Be My Eyes
Just for fun, watch Todrick Hall and Pentatonix doing a flash mob in a public men's room.

Todrick went to the same high school as Mitch, Scott, and Kirstie, but was a couple years ahead.
Todrick was on American Idol, though he didn't win.
The Wicked Witch of the West = The original Karen. ROFL!!!!

Avi left in 2917
you're pronouncing Avi incorrectly… you're pronouncing the a the same as in apple but it should be pronounced like the a in above
Kirstin did such a great job as Dorothy, Glenda the Good Witch and the Bad Witch. All of the percussion was Kevin with Avi doing the bass as usual.
