    Hola! Me encanta el acabado, tengo una consulta, yo trabajo con resina epoxica haciendo porta vasos, pero los clientes se quejan que se rayan fácilmente, cómo puedo proteger la resina ? Traté de usar laca pero eso solo opacó mis porta vasos, yo necesito conservar el brillo.
    Saludos!

    Super vidéo, bravo
    Enfin une vidéo facile à refaire.
    Car souvent c’est très compliqué car il faut poncer
    Et la a pas besoin.
    Moi je vais en faire un plateau rond .
    Pourriez-vous faire des vidéos de ce genre pour débutant ?
    Merci beaucoup

    Curious as to why you encased the wood in epoxy rather than leaving it exposed and doing a oil/wax finish.

    Superb work.
    3 Questions pls-
    1) Did you wait for the bottom-most BLACK layer to dry completely or was it semi- liquid??
    2) What was that liquid that you brushed the wood with?
    3) After complete curing how did u manage to get the finished product out? did you dismantle that round mold completely?

    • @ProTechEpoxyFloors
      @ProTechEpoxyFloors 5 лет назад

      Therapy Art it was cured. That’s why he coated both the black base and wood with clear resin before positioning it.

    Why do some people put an epoxy layer underneath and most people do not? And do you put the wood in right away or did you wait for the epoxy to get tacky?

  • @elchayani2
    @elchayani2 6 лет назад

    Very impressive, couple of questions please,
    First is what is the total thickness of the table, second is how long did you wait after each epoxy layer? Is it all at the same time.
    Again impressive work

    Probably a dumb question but do you mind telling me what kind of black pigment you used? I just did an epoxy mix using Pearl Ex carbon black, and it came out super opaque and I wanted it solid black ..I was told not to put too much pigment in as it may affect the curing process. I guess I should have put a lot more in or??

    I'm assuming you added a colorant to clear epoxy in order to make it black? I'm trying to do the same thing and I was wondering what product you used for that. If you could help me out I'd appreciate it!! Your table is beautiful btw, I was planning to do an entirely black pour until I saw the side view of what you did with the black bottom and clear above it. Wow! Solid work.

    What type of finish would you use if it needed to be food safe. I am making a charcuterie board for a friend and am having a challenging time using different food safe oils (have both wood and epoxy to cover), and the oil never dries on the epoxy. I realize that most times a type of poly is used as a finish coating.

    Quick question. After you put the black epoxy on the very bottom did you let that dry before adding the clear? If so, do you do a light wet sanding or anything to the black before the clear is applied?

  • @conritewing162

    I know that you have your pieces individually sealed before you place them but do you have the edges of your wood rounded over also or do you leave them square and just round over the epoxy? What edge gap do you use around the table as well? That is a beautiful table. I may try one myself that’s why I’m asking.

    • @segwood1211
      @segwood1211  6 лет назад +1

      The edges are square. I leave about 5mm between the edge of the wood and the edge of the mould. I then pour epoxy there. In the end i round only the epoxy edge as the wood needs to be always glazed in epoxy.
      Depending of the effect you want to get the wood also can be rounded, but i like it better square. This is a matter of taste.
      And you are right all the pieces of wood are sealed.

      I do the edges with a router and then sand and polish it. If you look carefully i pour everything inside the mold so between the wood and the mold wall i have 0,5mm of epoxy.

      Stratified wood, same material used in kitchen cabinets. Very important is to be glossy. If not just apply a glossy sticker and pour epoxy on it.
