It's just not 10 teams that are taking part in ICC World Cup. There are 8 more teams participated in ICC Men's Qualifier to qualify for this tournament. 50 overs games has it's own charm.
8 teams participated but only 2 teams qualified that's the problem... Icc must expand world cup up to 24 teams

Cricket is absurdly popular in India. Indians are fanatic for this sport. Since India is hosting the World Cup for Cricket I'm interested in how the players, the fans, and referes are gonna act. I don't think Indians are going to cope well if their nation doesn't make it to the championship. My guess is that many of the non-Indian teams will be given an incentive to lose.

It's high time ICC tweaks ODIs to catch eyeballs. One suggestion is reduce it to 40 overs each and let the fielding side bowl with one white ball. The latter will help in reverse swing after 30 overs.
Sachin idea is much better, make odi a two innings game of 25 overs innings to each team, this will add t20 as well as test flavour to odi and interestingly cricket Australia have tested that idea in their domestic
@@abhishekverma4290 Aware of it, but not pragmatic. T20 is a completely skewed towards batsmen. Changing the format or too much tweaking will lose the flavour.

And pls, no 2 new balls, use the same ball for the 2nd innings as then it'll make a distinct shift in batting approach in the 2 innings. But then, batting line up of 11 will still feel too long.

Actually this is not a boost...most of the money come from Indian people directly or indirectly and most of the sponsor are also Indian. So money generating from our people and recirculated in our economy. And also half of the revenue goes to other participating nations. Overall it's not a boost but a trap for Indian.

The amount of Cricket played is pretty much the same, it has just developed more flavors. More flavors, and more engagement lead to more revenue.
And I agree that the 10-team World Cup should now increase. Smaller teams are playing good cricket, still far behind the top five, but that is the case in every sport. In any sport, when 20 teams are competing, there will always be a big difference between the quality of top and bottom 5. So be it. More teams should be made part of the main World Cup event.
