    That guitar is gorgeous jason! For years ive used medium to heavy gauge strings on acoustics until i decided to drop the gauge down to 10 to 46,that did the trick,im able to have less hand fatigue and can play longer,i plan on getting another acoustic guitar in the near future,the one i have now is kinda cheap(180) and is showing it's age but good on you man

    I received the ZAD900CE and love it. I've been playing guitar since 1968. The 900CE is beautiful, well-made, and sounds very good. The Fishman Aura Pro is a great addition to the instrument. The sticker inside the guitar says "Made in Jakarta, Indonesia", so I assume Zager assembles the guitar stateside from parts. I think it is a fantastic value and Zager's customer service is amazing. I recommend them.

      No. It's made in Indonesia just as some Martin and Taylors are made in Mexico. I own a couple of Eastman guitars and I love them. Very well built and beautiful guitars. To think that only US made guitars are quality is just plain nonsense.

      Agreed! But Martin and Taylor make it perfectly clear to their customers exactly where their guitars are built. They also price them accordingly. It's important to be honest with your customers, don't you agree?

    Hi Jason, thanks for the Zager review. I was in the market for a smaller bodied guitar (really wanted a 00) last year and ordered a Zager parlor model. Like you, I was impressed with the beauty and all the accessories that came with it. It played well but it didn’t resonate very well (as is typical of the smaller bodied guitars), so I went through with the return process. The Zager staff were excellent and even offered me the next size up (the OM) at no additional price! I sometimes think I should have taken them up on that. Oh well, I ended getting a Guild OM-260CE Deluxe Blackwood. (It’s eye candy, for sure!)
    Anyway, I still need to come visit you at Fiorelli winery since I live in Bradenton. Cheers, and Happy Holidays!

      @jasonstallworth  Год назад

      Yeah, this is a super nice guitar and just a solid build. I may get a smaller one at some point as I wanted to teach my wife. But yeah, I can see where the smaller models may not have the full sound as the other models. The one I have has a beautiful tone and resonates.

    Hey Jason, beautiful guitar. I've looked at Zager and would love one. Not so sure if they ship here, to the UK. Definitely a consideration if they do. I love their ethos and have looked at so many of their models. So I'm exited to see your future videos. But I've seen and heard lots of great things. Please do a video of how to adjust the action. It's something I'm so scared to do myself. So if you figure it out???? Great video, sooooo looking forward to seeing many of your videos with you playing this guitar. it looks stunning and sounds gorgeous too! Would love a Zager factory tour video, that would be fantastic🤘🏻😊❤

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  Год назад

      I'm sure they'll ship there but will probably be a little pricy. I think it's worth it though...this guitar is half the price of a Taylor or Martin. As far as action, I really don't get into that. I did gently adjust the truss rod but that only seems to impact the upper part of the fretboard. All the other stuff involved in setup, I take to my local shop and have a pro handle that...I don't wanna screw it up!

    Thanks for the first impressions.
    The comments on this brand are more polarized than most brands I’ve seen.
    I don’t have the money for a new one but have located a couple used ones I will try before buying.
    I have had a couple acoustic guitars and hated them, good money after bad to set up.
    Rather play my electric guitars. I am 63 with arthritis so that’s a limitation.

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  5 месяцев назад

      @@rosewoodsteel6656 Transparency is important, yes. But don’t mistake something being made in a particular country being high quality by default. Maybe that was the case 50 years ago but we’re in 2024. If we’re going to truly be transparent you’ve got great products (as well as cheap) being made in multiple parts of the world, including the good ole USA.
      On that note, I’ve got the real review of this Zager guitar coming up this week on my channel (this is after having played it live for over 8 months)

    • @rosewoodsteel6656
      @rosewoodsteel6656 5 месяцев назад

      @@jasonstallworth My point about honesty and transparency has more to do with being forthright about where a guitar is manufactured. If it's made in Indonesia, for example, let people know it is made there. Indonesia has some fine guitars made there. But, Indonesia also has a lower price point for their products than say, the US, Canada or the European countries. So, an Indonesian made guitar should reflect this and buyers should be made aware that the item they are buying is made in Indonesia. I believe you would agree with this.

    I have a friend who has a zager. You might want to talk to him. His developed a buzz that he couldn't get out without raising the b string. He sent it back t zager and it came back as bad or worse than it was so when he plays it you can hear it buzz. They do look beautiful but looks aint everything. I went through the process. I spent the money and received the holy grail guitar. I felt very mislead from the false advertising and the corny videos of Mr. Zager and his “son”…where Mr Zager apparently can’t speak for himself. I’ve been playing since I was 13. I have owned Epiphone, Gibson, Martin, Gretsch guitars. All wonderful instruments with clean heritage. I have arthritis as I just turned 62 and needed to find another solution because it’s not getting better. I borrowed my neighbor’s Taylor 814 to play at an anniversary for a friend and realized I may have found the answer. That…is a quality guitar. I purchased a Taylor 314 and love it. There are no phony e-mails, lies about who made the guitar, full, verifiable disclosure on all aspects of manufacture, history and architecture. The best part is, I don’t have to say…”you know, the guy who had one hit…in the year…” I did get my refund after having to deal with “Denny” (bot) telling me all sorts of crazy things. You all can keep your wonderful ZAGER guitars.

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts. My experience has been the opposite. I've played a few high end Taylors and although they play well, the sound is not as full as I would expect. I also have a nice Martin which sounds great, but I've had it setup up more than once and still doesn't play as well as I would like.
      My Zager sounds and plays great but I am having it setup to have the strings lowered a bit. And that might be the issue you had. It may have just needed a good setup to release some of the tension and lower the action.

      For starters, there’s no ‘praising of the guitar’ as you suggest.
      Per the title and per my transparency in the video, which is crystal clear, this was my first impression. It’s not a review of any kind.
      Again, per what I clearly lay out in the video, I needed to gig with this for a few months before giving my thoughts as that’s part of what I do for a living. And that’s happening soon.

    It’s a good guitar……………..for 300-500. It doesn’t look and sound like a 2000 USD guitar.

      Which model do you own or if you don’t own one, which one have you played?
