Hi Rhi, thanks for this amazing video. I’ve literally cleaned my whole hose after watching this! Labelled all the baskets and storage containers I have and had a sort out of my cupboards. Nothing beats a tidy home for a tidy mind 🧘🏻♀️
I do my main shop every Wednesday, so I clean my Fridge and cupboards every Tuesday . It takes hardly any time as I do it each week .I put my new tins etc to the back each time I shop . So there’s no out of dates …loved you Vlog Rhi …take care x
You might need to turn up the heat setting on your dishwasher. Another solution some people say works is to take a tea town or something similar and to hang half of it over the handle on the dishwasher and dangle it inside the dishwasher and leave t that way with the door closed for a while. The idea is that the tea towel absorbs the excess moisture somehow that way and leaves the plastic dry.

Plastic won’t dry in the dishwasher no matter what you do. It doesn’t retain the heat the same way your ceramic plates or mental cutlery does. The heat of the crockery is what allows it to dry after your dishwasher has finished. Sadly just the downside of plastic crockery x

I find if I open n the dishwasher door a crack when the drying is not quite done, so it's got e.g..10 mins left, all the steam evaporates and it's fine. If I leave it to finish and cool down stuff isn't dry though, same as you
I do that too and it works much better
Hello Rhi, another great video, you make cleaning seem so effortless! I need to adopt the baskets in the kitchen cupboards and the fridge too. I knocked over a bottle of olive oil last night when I decided to clean out my kitchen cupboard. This new method might make me look organised too.

We have some form of step in literally every room of the house as nobody in ours is over five foot three...Really need to do a clear out of 4 specific cupboards in our kitchen, which we collectively call the 'bloody cupboards', they don't contain food but they are just filled with stuff that we don't use half of, but my mum's working a lot of extra hours as a care worker at the moment and she's the one who does the cooking so I can't do it without her being there as I don't know what's used and what isn't. Knowing me I'd throw out the wrong saucepan or something.
We have a slightly different set up than you do with tins/ jars etc in that we have one of those tiered shelf thingies on the appropriate shelf (which is the top shelf of a lower cupboard as the shelf below is the 'dog shelf' and we have it configured with the tins and jars on the riser thingy with a small basket (Wham Studio 4.01 Basket if we're being specific) in front for all the condiments as it can be moved out of the way easily and is nice enough to actually set on the table since the shape of it is kind of like a little tray. The boxes of passata go down the side with the gravy granules in front of them and a container with the dog's most frequently accessed biscuits beside that as they're easier to reach there and out of her reach as until recently that container didn't have a lid (recently bought more containers to phase old ones out and as it happened that one lost its lid at some point)
My mum does a lot of scratch cooking so there's an entire shelf of herbs and spices in one of the upper cupboards (with the 'backups' in the hot press upstairs to stop them going damp. I have a list of the 'back-ups' in the same notebook I use for shopping lists so we don't accidently buy too many. of one in particular if we're making up an offer or something. The only one we buy in bulk is Swartz 'Spicy Italian' as only Asda sell it in a 15 mile radius of our house but there's only one Asda in a 15 mile radius of our house so we buy half a dozen at a time as its used quite a bit.) The next time we're in Ikea I'm planning to buy a load of one of their styles of spice jar and decant all our spices into them since our old system is broken (as in the little baskets we were using have broken and are no longer manufactured). My mum likes to buy the larger tubs of spices (as in 100g tubs) as they're cheaper but the size of them make it hard to organise and mean we can't use any other system. My hope is to use another of those tiered shelf thingies alongside the jars to save a bit of space and keep things better organised. Fingers crossed it means we don't risk being hit on the head with a jar of paprika every time we open the cupboard!
I would 100% recommend airtight containers of some kind being used when possible as opposed to bag clips for half opened bags of prawn crackers etc since then if you get any kind of creepy crawlie it minimises what needs throwing out. We got home from shopping this past Monday and when I was putting some kitkats in the biscuit jar that sits on top of our freezer (undercounter fridge so we've a small freezer in the corner of the kitchen) when I noticed little... things... crawling on the lid. [shudder] We keep the slow cooker, cereal containers, the napkins and the biscuit jar on top of the freezer but since any food was in airtight containers or individual packets it meant that we didn't have to throw everything out once we cleaned the outsides and sprayed the top of the freezer with raid. I dread to think what the cocoa pops would have been like if it wasn't in an airtight container. 🤮We're still scratching our heads over what the little buggers were as I'm fanatical about keeping non individually wrapped things in airtight containers but I now have justification as to why the half used bag of prawn crackers goes in a reusable freezer bag in the cupboard instead of using a bag clip to keep it fresh. I remember you mentioning using bag clips on big bags of things you want to keep fresh but perhaps a cautionary tale as to why the clips should maybe be only used on freezer stuff.... Now I need a big container for the rest of the 3kg bag of pasta.
Would love to see more of these 'mini job' type videos, especially maybe the one with your dressing table that you mentioned you filmed during the summer. I really need to sort mine out and could do with a bit of inspiration/ motivation.

My partner thinks theres something wrong with me because im honestly always going on about how we need boxses and baskets for storage, now when ever i open my mouth and say "i need ...." he stops me and says "let me guess a box ? No a basket ?" Hahaha but honestly i dont have no where near egnough ! I must buy them ever pay day without fail lol
