    Very surprised the CM didn't start an intiial attack from a safe distance until the BA wearers were ready

    Why don’t one start fighting it while another gets another hose real

  • @Metlamaniac

    OIC could maybe have chucked some water at it for the first two minutes tbh

    • @Metlamaniac
      @Metlamaniac 2 года назад +4

      @@crowhomestead7552 that hose reel that got laid out could have easily had an affect on that fire, used by the OIC. Infact that exact hose reel was probably the only thing that ended up getting used throughout that incident. I’m just saying what they did is obviously fine….. but the OIC could definitely have just done a quick attack (safely from some distance) with that hose reel before the BA crew were ready.

      @@crowhomestead7552 Nonsense, car fires are relatively easy to put out, UK crews generally do it with just the on board supply, watch any other vid and you will see that.

      @@Metlamaniac Its not really about putting the fire out, there was no life at obvious risk, and at that point it becomes about insuring whoever engages the fire isn't breathing in toxic fumes that potentially could give them health problems later on in life.

    • @Metlamaniac
      @Metlamaniac 2 года назад +1

      @@cnsmooth I do agree with you. But come on….. that’s like 2 minutes of waiting just to put BA on. The OUC might as well have just thrown water on it from a distance first. At least do that. That’s easily achievable without breathing in any gasses. What they did was fine…. I’m just being anal and not loving the huge delay in water that’s all.

  • @IansOddInterests

    Why have 2 x BA? U.K. proceedures allows for 1 x BA if external, within view and comfort… 2nd man could have been standing back with quick hit with HR containing/ extinguishing fire around tyre etc. OIC can monitor…. Yes the cars ruined already, but 2 x BA?

      Not any more. Min 2 for BA and has been for last couple of years. 😊

    Not great 2:10 on scene and not a splash of media used and not even a proper 360 done.

      Are you an expert FF? I doubt it because it took me 10 seconds to identify that as a HWFRS retained pump from Ledbury in Herefordshire - i.e. that’s a part time crew for ignorant RUclips viewers. I would expect the I/C assessed that there was minimal risk to the surrounding trees and no lives were at risk whilst the car and contents are already a write off so what’s the problem?

    • @rogueuniversities6866
      @rogueuniversities6866 2 года назад +1

      @@thepymes Yes, I am. I have served in the fire brigade for 15 years. My training is regularly updated. That was someone's car and with any fire there's a risk of spread. Those lazy, idiotic so-called firefighters showed themselves to be the fire brigade equivalent of the keystone cops. Our priority is to PRESERVE LIFE and PROTECT PROPERTY as well as prevent the fire from spreading. That car could have been saved.
