IT'S MASSIVELY APPRECIATED!
Amateur Photographer latest 5 Star review ***** Conclusion
"The Original SpeedGimbal is a clever head design that’s much quicker and easier to use than conventional tilt or ball heads. If you shoot a lot with long lenses and monopods, buy one now."

Have one on a Three legged thing monopod, really useful to take the strain off your arms and lightweight if moving about a lot. I used to leave my monopod behind but this means it's lighter and easier to carry one around with the 'head'. I attach it to the lens foot. It's not cheap but it's a good idea and good quality and it's great to support a little UK company and it will only be a one off purchase.
Lovely deer shots.
Thanks for sharing! & Thank You
Well done getting the breath and morning must Mark. It must be a lot colder there than it is here in China, about 30C here!
Thanks Jonathan. It has turned a lot colder here. I have just photographed a herd of Red Deer in the Woods guarded by large Stag
Interesting piece of kit Mark.
Yes it has just been awarded 5 stars in a review by Amateur Photographer which is a good endorsement . Worth a punt I am not sure everyone will get on with it however. I rejected it at first glance 🤔
Really like the Speedigimbal i use with nikon d500 and 150 600 m lens
I was surprised by its use . I wasn't interested at first, but it has grown to be my go to in the field kit .
With the cup mounted to the lens bracket & the ball fitted to a monopod. As mentioned on their website
Yes it works either way . I like to hold the ball im my hand rather than the cup part 👌
Great video mate, looks very interesting for sure !!!
Thanks Ryan. Worth a punt a very quick support system. I use it all the time now in the Woods
Really like the Speedigimbal. I use it with a Sirui SVM-165 monopod. Makes for a super-quick setup when waiting for a bird to appear or take flight during those times when you can’t steadily hand hold for more than a few minutes.
Good call it really is for those moments
Just my opinion and recognizing that everyone perceives value for money differently, but 79 quid seems like a lot for what is being offered (a plastic ball, a plastic cup, and some machine bolts threaded into either), ignoring altogether the additional 15 quid for the magnet.
From a functional point of view, what bothers me most is the need to thread the chunky ball into the bottom of the lens foot. Adding a lever type clamp to the monopod head and ideally the gimbal as well solves the same problem, is much more stable and I would add a lot safer for your gear. I use a 2-way head (Leofoto VH-10S) combined with the lever release clamp LH-70. Yes, my solution cost roughly double what the Speedgimbal costs, but considering what I got in return coupled with the benefit of not having to thread the ball in and out everytime I want to switch, I consider it money well spent.
Very good points £79 less £5 using code "Camilla" is not cheap, and you are definitely paying for the idea more than the product albeit a one off purchase !
You tend to use one or the other either a tripod or a monopod, not normally having to switch.Although this is relatively easy to do.
The quick action ease of use and very lightweight compactness of the SpeediGimbal are its main assets.
But thanks for sharing your solution, which is certainly more stable and very easy to use and sounds a very good one especially with the Quick release plate. But obviously more cumbersome and heavier in my opinion eg. it's not dangling from your belt 👌🤔
Surely it's more of a ball head than a (Speedi)gimbal.
You could have a point here 👌
Useful gizmo but way too pricey
I was surprised myself at the cost for such a small bit of kit. But I have been amazed how much I now use it. It is also a one off cost and made in England. But I could see some people not liking it and then it is a waste of £74 plus £15 for two magnets
looks like it flops all over the place , interesting but not for me.
It does if you don't hold on to . I thought it wasn't for me too, but now use it all the time for instant support in the field
