Best birthday present I ever had was seeing these guys live a couple of years ago. Seventy years old and still skankin’...
I have rarely heard a band that play so together , in all my years since the 60s . You have managed to capture the spirit of the 60s , the jazz & improvisations, the grooves , the JAM , that fire & energy that Bob Marley introduced in the 70s , when we were in danger of sinking under glitter & overdose on sugar . with some 80/90 electro & 2000 world music Rhythms , you are bringing us through lockdowns & conspiracy theories . That movie last year kept us afloat & I'm looking forward to this weekend 30 July 21. It is really something special , when your new material sounds so fresh & new & yet we almost knew what was coming next , it seems familiar. That's your secret recipe that only comes from those hours in the improvisation zone together > Bless you FFD , you are something very special & this 71 year old teenager loves you. x x

pretty sure it's just about how much he loves reggae and what its done for his life
Skank is how musicians call to this kind of reggae beat. Skank means the guitar beat, sounding like: pum chak, chak, chak, chak, pum chak, chak..You know what i mean. And the rock of my life means how he loves this riddims
Like how you would call your wife your "rock". Keeps you centered, your focus etc
For me, to skank, skanking , is the way you move on that music.
