  • This is my first trip to explore an old municipal dump that is loaded with bottles. The dump was in operation in the 1920s and all of the bottles date to about that time or earlier. I like to look for milk bottles and was lucky enough to find a few on this trip.
    About Aquachigger:
I enjoy metal detecting for historical items like gold coins, relics, silver coins, and other buried treasures. I also metal detect for gold and silver nuggets and even meteorites. I like to make videos that promote my choice of lifestyle that includes outdoor adventure,
metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed by most people who are not familiar with outdoor adventures and nature. I keep my RUclips "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.

There is an old dump from before the 60's down the road from where I grew up. The only problem is, is that I remember the owner burning the pit at times. What are the chances of anything of value surviving? I've always wanted to go dig that site. I know my great grandparents used that dump. So being that I'm 61, there maybe be some cool things. Not sure when they started burning it.

Seen ya got a Pluto bottle. These came from French Lick Indiana where my family is all from. It was a water that had minerals in it that worked as a laxative. When Lithium became a controlled substance, Pluto water stopped production. I think in the 1970s. GR8 video Beau, Mike😊

As a native of Western Maryland I can say I've dug the same dump a few times... lots of milk bottles yes. My 82 years young landlord told me in the 1950's the big late night fun for a Friday night was to park a few cars all in a row, headlights facing the fresh dump area and the boys would "plink" the nany rats with their 22 riffles. Sounds like a lot of fun. Might explain all the broken bottles LOL.

HNY! , that 3 sided fancy metal was a bank missing its door , on top was a slit for coins. yep they took the thousand and ran...Our old homeplace recently burned ,bought at the time of Mom's last two babies. 1960ish... I remember next to the garden we dug up old bottles . Mom burned trash at a different location on the property looked like a half grave to me, up until the new house was built in 82 elsewhere. I think of someone in the future digging it up....cracks me up ...but I get it...I did it ! No pop bottles they were returned for our preteen cookouts . Lesson no. 1 never ever put those hard earned hot dogs and chips near the gas lighted wood fire. It`s raining chips and dogs !

I think i've seen that blue tiny bottle on another channel. Well, not that one, one like it. The cap was white (ish) and i think the digger said it was perfume of some sort. The remnants of a label were still visible, but illegible. A small rhombus with round corners. I'll have to check to see if i took a screen shot. I usually do whenever cool bottles show up.
edit: found it. Not perfume (well, depending on how you look at it). It's a Vicks bottle. Menthol and camphor drops.
