- The team races against time to locate a kidnapped 18-year-old girl. The case is complicated when detectives receive a dubious offer of help from a man who claims to have had psychic visions of the missing teenager.

An eighteen-year-old girl (Molly Bea Spears) is abducted by a rapist, causing her family (Marianne Hagan and Taylor Spreitler) to offer a substantial reward for her safe return. A self-proclaimed psychic (Martin Short) comes forward claiming to have information and the girl is found dead shortly thereafter. Stabler refuses to believe that the man in the squadroom is a real psychic. As he drops hints and plays calculating mind games, it becomes increasingly apparent that either he or his wife (Mary Mara) is involved.

Technically speaking, both of them killed her.
Probably horrified and furious.
Beyond devastated. 2 insane people were responsible for her death (And apparently others according to her) and to be mentally tortured by the psychic's "readings" is even more devasting.
She probably felt like an idiot falling for his mumbo jumbo. And no doubt enraged over what they had done to her child.

Martin Short was flat out BRILLIANT in this episode. Played the role of a phony 'psychic' who turned out to be a sick, sadistic, evil guy who preyed on young women, & then on top of that, his wife was his accomplice. And that deep, dark, creepy voice that Martin Short revealed in the episode....wow. What an episode this one was.
That is if Clifford was full on a psychopath. I can agree with you on what you said - props to Martin Short for that performance. It has been a long time I ever seen him.

Martin Short was amazing in this episode. Truly nailed the deranged psychotic nature of his character. His Cheshire grin is truly haunting.
His wife is a mental case, she literally ruined herself for a guy who considered her nothing but a minor detail for his plan and a patsy.
So wasteful.

This is why u teach your kids the dangers of bring online. This is why my husband and I refuse to let our kids be online unless we are right there seeing what they are doing.
The library, school, friends with devices- they will get online, its too accessible these days. Best thing to do is warn them and show them news reports on the dangers. Heck, kids these days can get past parental blocks faster than parents can install them.
Unfortunately, there’s only so much standing over your child you can do. Theyre going to be away from you at some point, or maybe try and sneak being on the internet bc they feel suffocated. Best bet is to warn them about stuff like this, and check in every once in a while about what they’re doing online…
