- Since Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is just right around the corner, we wanted to catch up by reacting to the remastered PS5 cutscenes to the first Spider-Man game. @pieck5460 They definitely do. Much less than in the main game (maybe even just 1 per dlc), but they do exist

Both also voiced characters in anime such as Naruto and bleach etc
Yuri was also teenage Ben 10
I wish the gameplay showed more of the conversation between Octavius and the grant committee. The last line of dialogue is really touching because Octavius defends for Parker when the committee doubts his abilities to be a reliable assistant.
I literally JUST finished this game last night, and it is one of my favorite Spiderman stories! Such a good game! Can't wait for Spiderman 2!

There are so many nods and homages to this game reflecting on the movies, 90s cartoon, and comics. The comment on the Wheat Cakes at the shelter is a big nod to Aunt May, making one of Peter's favorite breakfasts, wheat pancakes. (I wouldn't be surprised at all if she was the one making batches of them in the kitchen🤘)
Yuri is a character from the comics. She's pretty new (I think within at least the last 5-10 years or so) If you wanna learn a bit more about her I would encourage watching the cutscenes from the city that never sleeps DLC. Its extra story content for this game that came out after the game was released.

@@Ximantus I don’t know much about her character as Wraith but from the little bit I do know I know that’s basically what she is essentially considering she killed all the cold case criminals in the DLC. No doubt though Spidey will have some sort of an issue with that especially since they were partners in a way.
Yuri was created in 2009.
This Peter is in his mid-20s. He has been Spider-Man for about 8 years at this point (mentioned by Fisk).
The towers are how you are able to see different parts of the map as you progress. After the few random crimes you stop here, others pop up at random, but you're free to ignore them. I'm not sure how much of that kind of stuff this video will show. I'm guessing it'll mostly stick the the main plot.
Voice actor notes:
Peter is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal and Captain Yuri is voiced by his wife Tara Platt. Just some irony that Yuri spends so much time talking to Yuri.
Kingpin is voiced by Travis Willingham, who Achara might remember as Grog from Legend of Vox Machina.
You can’t forget Travis wife Laura Bailey as MJ who was also Vex from Vox Machina

I always preferred the web shooters instead of it being biological. It's a small thing but added a huge factor in his struggles. Early on in the comics he would struggle with being able to buy the materials for refills, and would run out mid battle and have to adapt.
It also helps to show just how smart peter is. Take the mcu introduction, for example. Tony comes in to Peter's room and is like "you know what's amazing? This stuff. This stuff is really incredible. Who produced it?" And peter says "I did."
This is the only correct opinion. Organic is dumb and logistically insane.
It has less logic, but well it's superheroes haha

I loved swinging through the city in this game. Only game where i would never even think about using the fast travel option.

Watching the cutscenes of the original PS4 version would have been much better than the Remaster, lol.

I love the Tobey/Raimi natural web shooters but they actually would not work in this game because the player is given several web related gadgets to level up as they play through the game, the story also heavily focuses on Peter's intelligence especially with science and engineering which makes it more believable as to how he can craft so many different suits/utilities throughout the game as well. I will say the mental block concept is a cool aspect to explore but the hand built web shooters create more scenerios where Peter has to rely on his other strengths. There is a bunch of skins and abilities that are inspired directly by the raimi films and many of them are from Andrew Garfield,MCU, and comicbook storylines as well.
That and the fact that the source material (comics) always has Spidey with web shooters. It would only be fair for them to stay true to the comics.
The raimi version didn't have web shooters. His body naturally produces them like a real spider. But I agree I love the introduction of web shooters since the amazing spiderman, since it's accurate to the comics.

2:18 No, web-shooters give more drama in a fight because you can run out of web cartridges, or they can get destroyed.
It only emphasizes Peter's creativity, versatility, and intelligence. He was exceptional before the spider bit him, that's why I like this version of Spider-Man.
For in game reasoning/logic they also couldn't afford to use a natural webshooter with mental blocks like Tobey since they needed several gadgets for the player to level up as they play the game

It’s cool to see you’re doing the Spider-man games next. When this came out, I had a good feeling it would be awesome, but I wasn’t expecting an emotional finale. It was shocking when they did the facial update for next-gen systems on Peter how angry people got. You would have thought the developers had insulted someone’s mother.
This is probably one of Yuri Lowenthal’s best performances.
Fun fact: the voice actors for Spider-Man and Yuri are married in real life!
The Japanese artwork that Kingpin has is also a reminder of where he trained as one of Fisk's men says when asking how is he so strong when he looks fat (not fat, mostly muscle), "He trained with the Sumo in Japan, it's all about mass and strength" As for the puzzles, don't worry if you don't like them there's the option to skip them in the accessibility part of the options. Oh, and from what I can gather of the Thug Crimes, most of them have a link to Kingpin as in breaking into places he owned, assaulting people who had a connection with him (not Gloria), and stealing drugs from his personal stash, all of them wanting to be the next boss of crime in the city.

The Spider-Man movie was a lot of people’s first Spider-Man and a lot of people wish all Spider-Man have organic webbing but Spider-Man has always been using web shooter since before the movies in the comics and cartoon shows that came before and after only Toby got organic webs he’s unique. Not every Spider-Man from the spiderverse will have the exact same powers some might have extra and some might have some missing

I love this game. One of my favorite games ever. I have the remastered one for PS5. I use to watch all the trailers when they released. You ladies look wonderful. I hope you two have an awesome time watching these.
THANK GOD! This is not just one of the greatest games ever made, it’s also one of the greatest Spider-Man stories outside of the comics! I would love for the Cinepals to bring on Coy Jandreau to point out all the Easter Eggs they missed.

I don't know if you watched Hawkeye or not, but a bunch of the criminals have red jumpsuits because they're members of the tracksuit mafia, which were in the Hawkeye show, and is from the comics thus able to use in a Marvel game, like Spider-Man.
I thought they might have been but I got confused because in Hawkeye they had Russian accents 😅
The tracksuit mafia aren't in this game. Tracksuits are just a stereotypical crime outfit.

The advanced suit is really something. You've got a lot of suits in the game but every time I tried a new one, I'd come back to the advanced suit in a few minutes.

I don’t think this format works for a game like this. It works for Injustice, because the only gameplay in between the story is fighting the other player. But here, it’s not just fighting. A lot of the story beats progress through the gameplay, so it’s not just the cutscenes.
Its such a great Spiderman game. Such a great Spiderman story too. ♥️

Yo, I've played this game a lot and it is really one of the best games I've ever played. Awesome story and fight sequences.
Just so you know I've literally sat down for hours together and I've completed the game 100% in the ultimate mode.
This is a crazy game and worth investing your time.

There's a character profile menu in the game that shows Peter's age which is 23 in this game and considering he is 24 in the miles morales game he's probably 25 in the new one
I think the story is really amazing. The developers really want something different instead of just copying what the MCU does like Peter becomes Spider man, Uncle Ben will die and then it will continue there. But this story of Spider man in the game is very amazing

Im loving this series
I kinda liked the organic shooters until I thought about it. There's only one reason they'd be on his wrists, and that's because that's where OG comics Peter wore his mechanical ones. Spiders don't spin those out of their legs. It was just a step too far and Raimi reasoning "a kid comes up with a wonder adhesive 3M can't make" is both weirdly arbitrary for a comic movie, and also misses the point about Peters intelligence (though since they've suggested he inherently got the knowledge to synthesize webbing from the spider bite as well, he was just smart enough to understand how to craft it). It's a reason I have a love/hate relationship with the Raimi Maguire movies, it codified a lot of stuff for people that now expect it, like the organic shooters. Oh well. Looks better than the obvious rope they used for that 70s show with Nicholas Hammond.

Batman Arkham series, even Arkham origins reaction please
I came back to play this game after watching Naruto for the first time & safe to say, the entire replay through I wanted Peter to whip out the Fire Style, Fireball Jutsu
Imagine my shock when I went back and played Prince of Persia a few weeks later💀
In the game "Spider-Man: Web of Shadows" you can choose to be a bad Spider-Man, resulting in additional symbiotic powers and different storyline. That's what I remember.
Its a good thing that this player was very good at the game lol😂

If you only watch the cutscenes, I would have actually preferred you reacting to the original PS4 cutscenes, since the original face model for Peter Parker showed much better emotions. But I can also understand wanting it to be consistent with the sequels. It's not the face most people remember though.

Near the beginning about the cops saying Spider-Man is gonna mess everything up, took a second playthrough to realize they mean they work for Fisk.
I replayed the game and didn't get the new face model. I don't know if it's a PS5 exclusive thing or not. Main reason I did a second playthrough.

Missing the iconic intro song. I can only assume that you had copyright issues. Yet the cinematic theme during the swinging and the phone calls is a bit distracting to the overall video. Might have been better if you’d found some other music to put over it, or perhaps lowered the volume on the music a little during the audio.
