I am using the Sonnet line of the same brand, pans, a student grade that is "pretty good". I am considering upgrading to white night tubes. It would have been nice if you had given all the pigment numbers, not only of the green pg8 you didn't like (it's also in my sonnet set, and I avoid it too, dunno why producers choose to use known fugative colors, maybe acceptable in student's grade, but absolutely not in anything labelled artist's).

Lovely set of colours, I'm in love with sepia and the shades of yellows in this set. Looking forward to try this one after getting to know it contains honey.
All the shades are amazing but My favourite shade here is emerald green ❤️ thankyou for honest and beautiful review video.. love you voice ❤️so soothing
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm really glad you appreciated the honesty. I feel that every brand has pros and cons and it's best to share both sides so people can make informed decisions 😊
I loved these vibrant colors so much plus I never knew that colors contain honey too 😯 Even though they are cadmium I loved them. Especially I love Cadmium yellow the most ❤️❤️. Would loved if you do some artwork using these colors please do share. Will wait for your artwork using these colors. ❤️🥰
I'm glad you like the colours! I have already shared 3 artworks on IG so far before posting this review video, with more to come 😊 The cadmium yellow is very pigmented and opaque
Hi Wendy! ❤️ Lovely job with this video. I especially love that you were honest and talked about things you don't like/other artists may not like. It didn't feel like you were trying to sell me on them. I've never tried white nights but I would love to!
Aww thank you so much for the kind words! I definitely want to share both the pros and cons from my experience in any review so that people are able to make informed decisions, I'm really glad you enjoy the honesty 😊
It's very informative that you mentioned that it stay a bit wet than other brands dur to presence of hiney in it. Also the point you described about cadmium and transperency!! I wasn't aware of it though😍 Thanks for the information 🥰🌼
Hi Wendy! Thanks for sharing such a wonderful review on this White night watercolours. Some of the details about the colours you gave is really new to me like cadmium colours and about the green colour (which is my 3rd favourite in this pallet after the cerulean blue and emerald green) which is going to be faded with time. So, thank you so much 😊 Note: I never saw before that someone does the swatches review in both ways on dry paper as well as on wet paper, so I love this ❤️
Thank you so much Divya for your kind words. I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed this review and found it informative! 😊 The diluted swatches on wet paper was actually a very last minute decision to film and I'm happy to hear you like it! That green shade is so gorgeous and it was love at first sight, however after discovering its lightfastness rating I would not risk it for artwork that I'm selling. Though I would still use it for any artworks I paint for myself and for practise :)
@@WendyPaints That’s why I mentioned it that you gave little details which is much more important for when someone is selling their art work. Right now I’m making paintings to feed my own soul😅But such kind of reviews gives an idea when you want to sell your art work. 😊
@@dr.divyaverma7672 Aww I'm so glad you appreciate those kinds of details! I like to be honest in my reviews and include both aspects I like, and aspects I don't like, so that it is transparent and people are aware of both prons and cons to help make decisions 😊
I love how vibrant the colors 😍 Even though they are cadmium, I still like how they look. And please do a more detailed review on these. I love getting more tips, it's been helping me as I recently started my own watercolor journey. Keep the videos coming, love them and I love your artwork! 🤍
When you swatched that first red I was in love!!! ❤️ I'm new to watercolour paint tubes (I just use pallettes right now) but these colours are stunning and they look so easy to use. Thanks for your video!!!
That was a a very frank review and beautifully filmed swatches! I had eyes for the primary colors, as I do florals mostly. Agree Burnt Sienna is the one of the most essential color and + also Sap Green. But looking forward to detailed review, which will give me idea where to use them! Perhaps landscape!
I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed the review! 😊 so glad you also share my sentiments about burnt sienna! It is such a useful colour. I was also going to add that I would have preferred a paynes grey over the lamp black but I thought I might be getting too picky there 😂
Hey Wendy, I really enjoyed watching this video. I am thinking of switching from student grade to artist grade. After watching this review, I will definitely try my hands on these colors. You have explained everything so beautifully. Thank you it is very helpful for me😊
Thank you Diksha! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed this review 😊 They are an affordable upgrade into artist paints and I think they may even be more affordable than some student paints
@@dikshahemane3577 I have only the primary colours in W&N cotman so perhaps I can do a review video between W&N and White Nights once I am more familiar with my W&N cotman paints :)
🤍 Great review! They look amazing diluted. I have quite a few of them, but mostly I use them saturated because I love how vibrant the colors are. I will be using them diluted too from now on. They come in big pans (I can't get tubes) and they last a really long time. Very affordable too. I would love a more detailed review.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the review Nina! 😊 I think they look vibrant in mass tone and soft and pretty when diluted. I actually purchased some full pans of the White Nights as well (the pastel range) so I'm excited to try them out too
@@ninaorehek7983 Ah yes they are not available to me either. I purchased them from a Polish website and had them shipped to a friend in Poland who is shipping them to me 🤭 the effort to acquire those paints!

Thank you Wendy for making these swatches. I like Neva Palette a lot, and I have a pan set I like. I would love to try the tubes too, as I am more of a tube paint artist myself. I found all the info super interesting and valuable, especially the lightfastness of the green (too bad, I like this green! Now I am going to research the pan colors I have on lightfastness) but also the info about the cadmium colors - I had no idea.
Thank you so much Claude for the kind words! ❤ I'm glad you found this video informative. That green shade is such a lovely colour right? Pity about the lightfastness but I would still use it for sketches or any paintings I'm not planning to sell :)
Thanks so much for the info given, learnt so much about pigments in general! I never knew that cadmium colors are opaque and may affect the mixing. And also the info on the "Green" color being not lightfast, since I personally love this color when I first see the swatch haha. I would say this's a really good overall color palette ❤️🥰
I'm so glad you enjoyed it Catherine! 😊 I was in love with that green too! I would still use it in sketchbooks or paintings that I won't be selling but couldn't risk it in a commissioned piece. They are lovely clean vibrant colours overall :)
Love white nights paints ❤️ I paint with them for almost 10 years now. I use them in pans. I love their vibrancy and they are so reliable to me. Especially this dark green is my favorite green and I don't care about the light fastness since I don't sell my artwork. Over the time I collected their hole range of colours and they make me happy each time I use them. I paint a lot of animals but nevertheless they are perfect for any motive.
Hi Angela! Thank you for sharing with me your experience with them and great to know you've been using them for 10 yrs! The dark green is such a stunning shade and I do love it for non-commissioned artwork that are purely for my enjoyment and practise purposes 😊 I have also since this video purchased 2 more pan sets (since I didn't have pans before, only tubes) and all the pastel colours too so I am also enjoying collecting them slowly. Your collection is very impressive!
@@WendyPaints yes, my white nights are a lot of pans. Guess something around 100 do they have so far. I had them all in different palettes. Just two months ago I changed that and built myself a system of palettes I can stack one palette in the lid of another one. So I have them all layed out in one rectangle full of pans and the last palette that's on the top gives me my mixing space in its lid. These are special palette built by white nights, just the part that holds the pans and the lid. They are perfect for stacking one into another. And it fits perfectly on my small desk too. Another great pro for these paints is, that you can rewet them so easily.
Hey Wendy 🤗 I love these watercolors, such quality for the price. It really is a pity about the green, although I guess it'd be ok to paint in a sketchbook? I would also swap the lamp black for payne's gray. Great review 👍❤️
Yes I would definitely still use the green in sketchbooks or any artwork that I'm not selling, I just personally wouldn't risk it for any commissioned artwork 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed the review
The tubes are great for painting larger areas and I typically find them to be more pigmented than pan format watercolours from my experience :) The White Nights come in both tubes and pans.
Oh me too! When I first swatched that dark green colour, it was love at first sight.. shortly followed by 💔🥲 I would still use it for basic sketches or paintings for myself, but won't risk it for any artworks to sell
Hi Wendy, I'm here from Instagram, loved your review of these water colour paints. I hadn't heard of this brand before. I agree a burnt sienna would be more useful than the green. How do you know if a colour /paint is light fast? Thanks for the review!
Hi Sandy, thank you for dropping by and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the review! :) The lightfastness rating is indicated by the number of stars that are located under the pigment information - on the packaging usually in most professional brands of paints, the more stars indicate a better lightfastness rating.
I love these colors, I have 2 pans of these paints and I love how pigmented they are! I really like the green even tho its not lightfast hehe🙊 The emerald green shade looks amazing too!
🤍 ❤️ wonderful review.. I didn’t know cadmium based paints was such a controversial topic. Also, I do agree a burnt sienna would have been great. The deep green is beautiful but light fast colors should be avoided..
I always love those small, first impression videos that are bite-sized of yours 🤍 I think the white nights selection of 12 colors is rather.... Peculiar because they have cadmiums and a genuine (albeit weak) cerulean blue, and the beautiful Russian green PG8. I like it because it adds variety to the standard palette collection, although I don't think it's the beeeest selection for beginners :P
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear you enjoy the smaller bite sized videos :) I agree with your observations Maddy. Although I think the brand in general is suitable for beginners as the performance of the paints are very predictable with little to no granulation, this particular set of 12 is not the best selection of colours. I did notice that they also had another set of 12 tubes with slightly different colours but I couldn't find that one.
Hey Wendy! 🤍 This is lady_bug_of_art from instagram, I hope you recognised me! Um okay about the review video! I absolutely loved it! I have used white nights before and it is one of my fav brands.. but more than that, I really liked your voice! It was so soothing that I watch it for 5 times today! Lol! Keep up the good work dear, your artworks are rally amazing💕
The cerulean blue is quite soft :) Consistency wise when squeezed out of the tube, I would say they are quite similar to Sennelier since they both contain honey - not too runny and not too thick!
I really like the vibrancy of the color but would like these colors a bit more if it had white color too. But these are just good for someone to start his/her artistic profession
I think they don't contain honey but probably some other sticky humectant like glucose. I wonder why art stores keep reposting Jacksons descriptions propagating this myth without checking with the manufacturer itself which doesn't mention honey anywhere while other brands like Sennelier or M. Graham do and for obvious reasons (price and brilliance). The brand however is a gift for anybody who cannot afford more expensive brands especially in Europe (very cheap!). I find myself using it a lot just to sketch.
Oh thank you so much for bringing my attention to this. I actually initially suspected they contained honey because they always stayed wet on my palette so I checked Jacksons and a few others which had also mentioned honey. I will do some deeper research now thar you've shared this with me. Thank you! They are indeed great at such an affordable price comparatively for artist grade!
That is the biggest problem with White Nights.. you just never know when a non lightfast color is going to pop up especially in their sets. They have been reformulating some of them but often the sets contain the older formulations and even some of the new shades released are not lightfast.. and too often they are not labeled accurately to reflect this either.
Thank you for sharing your insights and knowledge on White Nights, I really value these kinds of comments. From hindsight, I would say Carmine in this set is also another shade I would be a bit cautious of for its lightfastness rating. It was an unfortunate discovery for the green, the colour itself is so beautifully deep, rich and unique so it's a bit saddening to see it not being very lightfast. Which of their new release shades are not that lightfast? I'd be interested to have a look as well. I just ordered a whole bunch of their pastel colours to try for fun and a few more other colours like the Cobalt Turquoise and the Indanthrone Blue shade which I heard was going to be a discontinued shade. On the bright side, I'm glad they have the open stock available so you can choose specific colours and avoid the not so lightfast ones.
Hope you enjoy this video! 😊 Have you tried White Nights before?
Not yet, I have tried Korean brand is Alpha Colors Korea
No I haven't tried 😐
I am using the Sonnet line of the same brand, pans, a student grade that is "pretty good". I am considering upgrading to white night tubes. It would have been nice if you had given all the pigment numbers, not only of the green pg8 you didn't like (it's also in my sonnet set, and I avoid it too, dunno why producers choose to use known fugative colors, maybe acceptable in student's grade, but absolutely not in anything labelled artist's).

I'm glad you like the colours! I have already shared 3 artworks on IG so far before posting this review video, with more to come 😊 The cadmium yellow is very pigmented and opaque
I would love to watch a detailed video of this too 😍✨
I'm glad to hear you would be interested in the detailed video too! 😊
Wowww wendy🤍😘😘😘😍 loved those colors and that pigments ❤️
So soft really want to try them 👍
I'm glad you liked the colours! Thank you :)
Informative. Watched till the end
I'm glad to hear you found it informative! 😊
I'm very curious to this! The colors are so vibrant. I love the cadmium yellow one. Thank you for sharing this review😍
Thank you Anindita, glad you found this helpful!
It's very informative that you mentioned that it stay a bit wet than other brands dur to presence of hiney in it. Also the point you described about cadmium and transperency!! I wasn't aware of it though😍 Thanks for the information 🥰🌼
Awww I'm glad this was informative to you and I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed it 😊
Hi Wendy! Thanks for sharing such a wonderful review on this White night watercolours. Some of the details about the colours you gave is really new to me like cadmium colours and about the green colour (which is my 3rd favourite in this pallet after the cerulean blue and emerald green) which is going to be faded with time. So, thank you so much 😊
Note: I never saw before that someone does the swatches review in both ways on dry paper as well as on wet paper, so I love this ❤️
Thank you so much Divya for your kind words.
Thank you so much! The colours are definitely very vibrant 🥰 I'm so glad you enjoyed this video and found it informative!
Hi! May I ask why you do not prefer cadmium? I’m a new watercolor painter
Wonderful review, Thanks 👍
It’s sooo pleasing watching the video ♥️ would like to see more reviews about the brand .. please dooo share paints tooo you have done ♥️
Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😊 If you have any other brands you would like to see, feel free to let me know!
When you swatched that first red I was in love!!! ❤️ I'm new to watercolour paint tubes (I just use pallettes right now) but these colours are stunning and they look so easy to use. Thanks for your video!!!
Thank you for your comment! These are definitely great for beginners looking to upgrade to artist grade at an affordable price 😊
IG @mrunaliniArt 🌸💐🌷
I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed the review! 😊 so glad you also share my sentiments about burnt sienna! It is such a useful colour. I was also going to add that I would have preferred a paynes grey over the lamp black but I thought I might be getting too picky there 😂
Can always rely on you for a perfect and detailed review. Really useful❤️❤️ and love your voice
Would love more detailed reviews and swatchess
Aww that means a lot, thank you for the kind words! 🥰
I'm glad you're interested in a more detailed review! 😊
So satisfying to watch youn swatch 😍
Thank you! 😊
Its a very informative video Wendy . I always wanted to try this brand . This video really helps making the decision . Thankyou 🌸🌺
Thank you Archana! I'm so glad you found this video informative! 🥰
Hey,can you please tell me which one is better white nights or W&N cotman
@@dikshahemane3577 I have only the primary colours in W&N cotman so perhaps I can do a review video between W&N and White Nights once I am more familiar with my W&N cotman paints :)
This video is so helpful and informative if you want to know more about colors and also about diluted washes.
My favorite is Cadmium yellow
🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛
I'm glad you found the video helpful and informative! 😊 Thank you
🤍 Great review!
I actually purchased some full pans of the White Nights as well (the pastel range) so I'm excited to try them out too
@@WendyPaints I'm very interested in pastel ones. They are not available to me, only a very limited range. I'm looking forward to your review.
@@ninaorehek7983 Ah yes they are not available to me either. I purchased them from a Polish website and had them shipped to a friend in Poland who is shipping them to me 🤭 the effort to acquire those paints!
Wow, awesome swatches video 🥰 so satisfying 😍 I really enjoyed your videos 🥰
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the swatches 😊

Aww thank you so much for the kind words! You are so kind ❤ I'm so happy to hear that you find this relaxing!
Love white nights paints ❤️
I paint with them for almost 10 years now.
They have Titian Red PO36 and Geranium Red PR242 in White Nights line. Both are nice replacement for Cadmiums
Thank you for sharing! I have picked up a few individual colours as well including Geramium Red so will be looking forward to trying it
Hey Wendy 🤗 I love these watercolors, such quality for the price.
I haven't tried this kind of water colours before I've only used the pot ones at school, honestly I didn't realise that tube ones were this nice
The tubes are great for painting larger areas and I typically find them to be more pigmented than pan format watercolours from my experience :) The White Nights come in both tubes and pans.
🤍
I personally love the dark green shade, it reminds me of seaweed or dark forests. It’s a pity it’s not that lightfast 😔
Oh me too! When I first swatched that dark green colour, it was love at first sight.. shortly followed by 💔🥲 I would still use it for basic sketches or paintings for myself, but won't risk it for any artworks to sell
Definitely great 👍🏻.
Glad you think so! 😊 thank you
Hi Wendy, I'm here from Instagram, loved your review of these water colour paints. I hadn't heard of this brand before. I agree a burnt sienna would be more useful than the green. How do you know if a colour /paint is light fast?
Thanks for the review!
Also in @gasbombgirlart on instagram, love your artwork and posts. =)
Hi Sandy, thank you for dropping by and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the review! :) The lightfastness rating is indicated by the number of stars that are located under the pigment information - on the packaging usually in most professional brands of paints, the more stars indicate a better lightfastness rating.
Magnifi colori 😍♥️♥️
Thank you! 🥰
I love these colors, I have 2 pans of these paints and I love how pigmented they are! I really like the green even tho its not lightfast hehe🙊 The emerald green shade looks amazing too!
That green shade is so gorgeous right? I would still use it for sketches and artworks that won't be exposed to light or not for selling purposes :)
🤍 ❤️ wonderful review.. I didn’t know cadmium based paints was such a controversial topic. Also, I do agree a burnt sienna would have been great. The deep green is beautiful but light fast colors should be avoided..
Thank you! I'm glad you found this informative 😊
hello my friend.. What a Lovely & creative works ! keep it up ! Big Like 121
Thank you so much!
Aww thank you for the kind words Dyutisnata! Thank you for dropping by here as well, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video 😊
🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 I love the cerulean blue
I didnt’ know that white paints are made with honey. Are they the same quality as the sennelier’s ?
The cerulean blue is quite soft :) Consistency wise when squeezed out of the tube, I would say they are quite similar to Sennelier since they both contain honey - not too runny and not too thick!
I really like the vibrancy of the color but would like these colors a bit more if it had white color too. But these are just good for someone to start his/her artistic profession
They are very vibrant indeed! 😊
