    Bare with me I’m 61 and terrible at science. Are the new nucleotides that attach during the DNA polymerase phase produced right before attachment or are they “waiting around” in the nucleus?

    Since the replication bubble opens up by both of the forks that delimit it, shouldn't the first okazaki fragment behave like a leading strand and keep receiving nucleotides until it meets another okazaki fragment?
